Monk builds 1.0.7

Don't get me wrong but I really don't understand people's obsession with high MP. Do you really get best results with mp4? All of my monks have worse gear than yours but all have about 500 iphr and above 600k gphr. Even with WOL one almost one shotting elites MP0 is faster and more efficient than MP1.

Btw ally does not have enough time to do reasonable damage but it deals with remote mobs which may cause some backtracking and cost you time.

Another note: With my mule I am experimenting high mp myself and getting better results with innas set with WOL since you save consideerable amount of spirit. You might give it a try if you have 4.5-5k armor and about 600 res.

Here is an answer to your first paragraph...

Items Dropped Per hour should be higher on MP0 than on any other MP. BUT...
what you really should check is ITEMS PICKED UP per hour. Also in the Trinity logs... You will get less IPH on higher MP but the items will be of a higher quality. Depending on your rules if bot picks up more items on higher MP than on MP0 then you should go with higher MP, regarding of IPH. It also depends what you actually want. If you want more gold / exp or just items. I am usually looking only at items lately because that is where the most profit comes from.


I'll give you an example:

MP0
427,98 per hour (IPH)
96,79 per hour (IPU) Items picked up (this is based on your loot rules only)

MP1
367,84 per hour (IPH)
103,36 per hour (IPU)

Might have something to do with the older versions of trinity, where deaths used to cause wrong statiscits. probably because of more deaths & backtracking & older Trinity. I highly doubt, you can get more IPH on higher MP unless you really one-shot everything without any exceptions :)

Is this better than my 30m barb?

i get 500+ IPH on MP0 and 400+ IPH on MP1 Vault

MP0 rarely dies

My 30 mil barb gets around 400 iph at mp0 and never dies, this gets 500+ at mp0, running SkyHigh Max extended
 
What about the weapon, do you recommend a Skorn or 2x 1H for this build?
Atm I am using a Skorn and reach 163K DPS (unbuffed with Sorc), would it be helpful to switch to 2x 1H?
 
Dual wield all the way, 2hands are slow, hence there isn't enough spirit regen. Skorn will work for mp 0 and 1, but for higher you need 2 weapons. Check the first page, i have a gear build there. Last post i think

is there anyone who can edit trinity for use with this build? atm it doesnt use both sprit regenneration attacks, and he should apply exploding palm on elites and trash >4 and kill them with WoL or so

would be very nice if someone is able to do this :D

This is not the only thing it doesn't do right now. I was experimenting with exploding palm and the bot doesn't cast it in a smart enough way. I also think that someone should try to implement different logic for this skill- it has enormous potential. If it casts it to the target you are currently attacking or to two targets and attack them first or something similar, it can be deadly. Effect will stack with higher MP as well, due to the higher HP of mobs. I was also thinking using this and then WoL to kill the marked enemies. All in all, monk has some very potent skills that could be "exploited" better :)
 
Here is another good build for this version; credit goes to tesslerc. He calls it the more expensive monk cannon and this is how i see it working, after reading the posts on that topic.

Now, this is relatively cheap build, and it's goal is to blaze through mp0 and mp1 only held back by the speed limit of Einstein's general relativity.
Needles to say, you need Inna helm with spirit regen, Inna set as well as a SoJ with spirit regen and dual weapons.

Also tirnity 1.7.2.2 is a MUST, since there is a slight change in the logic behind Dashing Strike, so get that.
Don't forget to DISABLE mantra spam, this will allow more spirit for your WoL spam.

the exploding palm video looks very similar to the swapping build we used in terms of survability and dps output. too bad he does not offer a deeper description
 
Exploding Palm is very very sick skill right now... would be nice to have the DB working fine for that build. Wish I knew how to edit it :)

Yeah, I tested this out with a skorn monk/tornado. It's not a bad build, just not as efficient as TR.
 
Is there a working Tempest Rush build, i mean one that does not (or rarely) stuck, an efficiently working build. Afaik, it is still not working that well..
 
how much items per hour you can reach with monk? with high parangon? more than 600 itmes? on mp1-2
