[PAID] [Mage] Portal - An Advanced Honorbuddy Mage Routine [PvE/PvP]

Just pushed an update..

[19/Dec/2013 - Update #2]
- [Frost] When preparing for Alter Time, should now correctly pool FoF and BF procs.
- [Frost] Logging now shows FoF + BF count.

Be good to hear feedback from some better geared mages.. My burst has just gone from 130k to 180k, and sustained from 90k to 125k :S - I'd be shocked if it's showing results like that for everyone though. Seems rather high.
 
Working good. The fact that it is waiting for both FF procs with BF then using AlterTime is great. It has increased my opening burst by approx 20k from 450k to right around 470k. Naturally this is just on target dummy with no flask, no food buff and no raid buffs. With that being said, I would assume that with all the said buffs, it will probably get just over 500k for the opening burst for single target. AoE on the other hand, like on the Galakras fight, will most likely burst just shy of 1 million as it was only doing 600k-700k.

Sweet. Noticed it wasting a lot of DPS dotting low HP adds. Adding in this (will push once I've finished testing)..

*Edit* Yeah it's made a huge improvement to DPS. Killing an ilvl 530 paladin, and an ilvl 545 shadow priest @ 503 on the e-peen meters.

[19/Dec/2013 - Update #4]
- Will no longer attempt to frost nova bosses.
- Added minimum HP values to DoTs, to prevent casting DoTs on units which are about to die.

So, with this implemented, it won't dot a mob with less than the set amount of health? What if I am on the boss and my LB falls off when it is below the set amount of health? That would also cause a loss of dps. Using this would require a lot of calculating and changing of the settings for just about every pull i think.

I will admit, it would be good for a mage who is given the task of killing the siege engineer during the Garrosh fight. Other than that, I don't see how it would be a plus. Maybe a little explanation on it is in order.

Yeah, so it won't DoT anything where the current health value is less than what the setting is. I've got mine set at 10m at the moment. No point dotting something with 100k HP when they'll die a second later. Would vary depending on the fight and raid type (LFR is different to 25 HC)

I use a similar feature in Stars:

- Don't dot if the unit is not going to live longer then X ticks

Might be interesting for u : )

Yeah, it's been in Demonic and Insanity for a while. Just been slow to add it to Portal. It definitely helps with DPS.
 
Looking forward to using the update, 2 weeks break over Xmas and only done 1 LFR and no dungeons with my Mage, might be able to get some quality time in with my squishy :)

a slight issue that i have been noticing with the last few builds that have been released is a lot of accidental casting of 5th Ablast then canceling halfway through. any way you could check that out for me please? seriously gimps dps when every time you get to 4 it tries a 5th then cancels it. there wasnt an issue with this a few builds ago. below is the excerpt from the log

Will portal get the tick system instead of the fixed value later on so it's more dynamic and smarter in calculating what to dot?

Thanks for the details. It's down to the new queuing system, casting the next spell before the last one ends (as the game client allows you to queue a spell up for the duration of your latency - which is what the routine is now taking advantage of).

I'll re-look at this code today/tonight.

I've tried all sorts of things like this in the past, calculating ticks remaining on DoTs, calculating the time a unit has left to live etc, but ultimately all roads lead back to configuring the routine manually dependent on the fight. I know it's more hassle to keep changing settings each fight, but if you want the maximum DPS then it needs to be done.

Thanks for the log. Looks like its Polymorph and Ice Ward that's causing the issues rather than Frostbolt. I'll get them fixed. Try disabling those options for now.

Don't know why but deep freeze hasn't been working at all. And I really hate the mechanics of your burst mode. The fact that it becomes enabled is weird. When i hit the burst hot key, it should just burst at that time and that's it. Then i hit burst again when im ready. Not have a mode that's kind of weird.
 
Millz, i see you made a lot of update in these days. I didnt use your cr since rev 98. I am gonna do mage arena tonight , hope its not broken again :)
