No your wrong, they did release the source the day blizz shut them down, it was only for like 4 hour's but they still released it, but then they took it down since blizz could still push them for prospcution over releasing the source. I did have the source but a month later a suffered a HD crash and lost it :(

We never released the source. So you couldn't have had it.

At the time of the Cease and Desist we were going to release the source, my fianc? is a lawyer and told me that it was a bad idea to release anything, I ended up convincing Naa that the backlash from Blizzard would be alot worse if we released anything so instead we decided to stop. On our SVN everything is logged and the last commit came a few days before the C&D. We never released anything, or gave anyone anything. Only person that ended up biting us in the behind was Phelon but that's another story and has been told on another forum.

Tbh, I'm just glad that you guys are okay =]. After such a tight community over there, I was very worried about you guys. I agree, it was best not to release the code.

How did the bot get detected after 3 months and get shutdown so fast?

you do know this thread is over a month old?

doesnt matter

anyway i was a alpha totus tester (it was 1 year ago+-), decent grind bot with nav and CCs like hb, but all was primite compare with HB :)

Huh? MMototus was a gathering bot not a grinding bot, unless they released a grinding bot before it got closed down. Saying that i could be wrong since i only used it a couple of times.

Shouldn't need user defined blacklists, once flying is back in HB a person could make a gb plugin that will avoid nodes that are underwater (or optionally gather the underwater node and use waterwalking if class has it or move to the closest walkable shore and mount) and also avoid nodes that have a user defined number of hostile NPCs at or above the players level within argo range of node.

Also the pathfinding when moving to and from nodes could be improved using tracelines to avoid obsticles.. if for any reason GB could not reach a node then it would automatically blacklisit it.

before they did mmototus, they did grind bot, but it was only for chosen(closed for public)

Remove this post if it's not allowed.

There's currently a bot out there called GPBot (beta, not reliable) that uses a feature they call "Radar". You click show radar, and a square window pops up showing your location as a circle, then dots around you displaying mobs, allies, vendors and ofcourse your waypoint path.

Most of it was only useful because it's a bot that uses waypoints so when you click record waypoints, you can move your char around big groups of mobs and into the nicely spaced areas.

It's very basic, but for HB/GB this feature would be great to get an "arial" view and allow for better placements of hotspots and could be clickable for badnodes.

The image below only shows the waypoint path, but red dots would be shown in the area for each mob.

Wouldn't you need to access protected code in the WoW client to see nodes not in visual range. Seems like a bad idea and a quick way to get banned if so.

I don't know how it's done, but I know they don't use anything other than memory reading with the exception of click-to-move.
