Inevitable discussion thread for Tripwire event on 30-Jun-2016

I was just having a conversation with a friend today because he wanted to band together for mythic 5 mans and I said "I'm not making any solid plans because Blizz will probably ban my account once legion is released."

Come home to this, I didn't have my bot running while I was working, but still pretty coincidental.

Just botted for a few days and its my first tripwire. I'm kinda excited what happens next... lol x)
Tripfire triggered during my bot break so I feel relatively safe.

I just use it for leveling characters and I don't really reap much benefit from Hb besides saving time

Literally a year since I used hbuddy last and the first time I try to attach it there's a tripwire lol. God what a slap in the face that'd be if I got hit. Client wasn't even all the way loaded into the game. I attached it during character selection and it tripped. Gonna go find the tin foil.

I tried to make the same point once in a post on a different topic and got slapped by a moderator for it so be careful. We aren't supposed to go after people by name regardless of whether we are correct in doing so. I believe that the behavior of the named person should have been looked into as well, but it clearly wasn't. I guess carefully worded trolling that just squeaks by established forum rules is protected but reactions to it are penalized.
I agree. He which shall not be named spends all of his time berating newbies and answering questions that weren't directed toward him with either sarcasm or disdain. Definite trolling.

No more personal attacks (in first- OR third-person)...

Why feed [him]? He clearly love to argue over the interwebz. There is no point, botting isnt safe, but a lot of things arent safe. Here is a pure objective statement, no one know what caused it except the buddy team, we will never know, and speculation is pure stupid.

This stops now! Talking about a Community member in third-person terms is not acceptable either.

The user you are discussing has received many (serious) mutes over time. One significant mute was earned recently. We agree he gets abrasive more than occasionally, but he has the common sense not to step over the forum rules. Unlike some. Also, not everyone disagrees with him the way you guys do.

Give it a rest. Put him on your ignore list. But, talking about individual users either directly by name, or third-person references is not acceptable. Any more of this, and we'll be handing out infractions.

cheers,
chinajade

"Dont panic"
Ha! Easy to say. There always was banweave after every tripwire event.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Ryftobuddy, would like to warn you against the danger of speaking in terms of absolutes.
Guess you [post=2220830]missed the warning[/post]. Have a 'day off' so you can catch up.

Hint: Personal attacks [size=-2](in ANY form)[/size] are NOT acceptable. What on EARTH makes you think this is okay?

cheers,
chinajade

Ive only been back botting less than 24 hours and this :p its like as soon as the bans are up they instantly try to see if the botters came back botting.

Any bans yet? IF this was sign for upcoming bans when will they come? How was it in last tripfire event - bans?

Hey guys. I was monitoring my character when this happen, and I remember that my game started lagging up a storm when I was trying to restart Honorbuddy, and even before then. Did anyone else notice this? Honorbuddy has never made my computer lag like that before. Is it normal in a tripwire event? I thought maybe something was wrong with my PC so I quickly restarted it, then tried to reconnect Honorbuddy, and this time I just got the tripwire message, but no lag. Is this normal?

exactly the same for me and after that disconnect

Bye bye Testraid in 13/13 mythic guild this evening ...  :( :(
Any decent botter should be able to play "by hand" at least on 70-80% of his/her favorite Combat Routine level.

So performing bit lower in raids is not something, which most players, including Raid Leaders would even notice, at least not for a night or two.

Plus, this is not multibotting on 5 bots team, for example.

Last time I checked, Mythic raiding is usually not botted 100% afk, but just handling the rotations to the CR, then manually move, target and follow the bosses mechanics etc.
