The XP bonus from helm rubies and hellfire ring is additive. Thats why it sucks in comparison to every other ROS legendary ring pretty much plus the legendary effect is shit = garbage ring.

Honestly which ever works for you gear is best. For my monk it's lightning so I generally use tf unless soh had lightning dmg.
