How do you guys gear your bots?

My farmers are already 80 - but they have still the crappy lvl 70+ gear. Not bad for normal farming.... but there will be cataclysm. So I'm already thinking how to bring the bot to good gear to run the first 3 of 5 levels without buying something or thinking about gear.

So what would be the best way? Do some heroics (I don't even know the spells that make damage - i think they would not be happy with me), or do some raids (same as for heros) or buy the crap from the AH, which is possible not the best option.

Probably i should spend 20k gold to a raidleader to push me thorugh ICC25 and grab some gear?

I also got masses of emblems of frost on my main - but i think they're soulbound and most of the gear that is buyable is soulbound too.

Go grab RAWR, install, grab your character from the armory, turn off all filters except craftable and BOE from AH, should give you the best list of gear you can buy without doing any raids. You can even set it to make at 232 etc so you don't go spending ridiculous amounts of money. This should be more than enough to farm with.

watch your toon while u bot while it attacks, it wll at least show u the basics on what to cast and when

I would get a DPS meter addon, practice on a wooden dummy for a bit and do some normals, then heroics.maybe check some forums to see what is ok dps for your classes.

What I ended up doing, was after hitting 80, I ran HB to farm honor and I bought a full PvP set. Perfect for farming IMO, lots of stamina, helps the rudimentary GB combat system by simply lasting longer.

Now that questing works, I just let the bot auto equip quest rewards and leave it at that. I do help them along and at 65 and 75 I do the ring of blood quests to get the blue weapons.

Greens and blues from AH. Since I only have 2 chars per server usually RAFing together its hard to do anything else. I usually bot pallies so equipment works well usually every 7-8 levels sometimes up to 10 depending if I got any blues.

My current technique, do WG quests as main. Get shards, spend shards on marky things that give 2k honor, send these to new alt, then buy necklaces and rings from wsg vendor, then boots legs, etc from arathi vendor. For every 10 levels apart. That's pretty much it.

Every 10 levels, go to bank, withdraw new necklace, ring, *legs, boots, if high enough level to wear arathi rewards*. Buy some greens from the ah, and use all that for 10 levels, then, do it again in another 10 levels, buy skillls whilst at bank, etc. It works perfectly .

i just get gear by pvp when i get up 10 lvls i buy all the gear with the honor

2 characters per server using raf. One farms stormpeaks one farms sholozar. I did have a few private buyers on one server before back in the fall that paid $5/k. However 90-95% of my sales are to sites. As to which ones it varies but I generally sell to 3 different ones. As of right now i only have 3 chars farming and setup but am pulling in 250-300$ per week. You need to find servers where lichbloom has high demand and sells for 35-60g per stack the higher the better.

So It's not suspicius when I'm online for 20Hours a day. With a Auto Message: Sleep is for the Weak!

Especially past lvl 50 I will leave it grinding, but do a dungeon or two every now and again to gear up. I'll also buy from AH, but there's never enough gear on there to keep up with your level.

5.8k? Thats pretty extreme for a bot imo. I find the best is to get 4/5 or 5/5 t9 and then just fill in with whatever else from the new icecrown instances.

my bots up with bout 5kgs, full furious and all the ilvl264 offpeices, basicly all the best you can buy from honor, iv been meening to do voa aswell for some easy loot, but havnt gotten around to it, the ilvl200 crafted 2hander mace is a bit suspicous i guess, think i need the axe from the icc instance.

My lvl 80 farmer have 1770gs and running without a problem. My new server is pretty quiet so there wont be anyone fining me!

On my old server Stormscale however. There was TONS of bots using gatherbuddy.

Well if you make your own profile, it's not as bad. But I see tons of people using the herbing profile for Storm peaks and I have no clue why since they sell really shit on Stormscale. Wintergrap titanium ore ftw <3

At the end of the day if your botting you can make gold easily... and if your grinding you will have excess money from vendor junk and if you want you can farm some ore/herbs your level and sell those so my advice = Dont be cheap about gearing make sure you have decentish gear obviously dont spend allot just buy stuff thats like maybe 1-2g an item at low lvls and not the hugely expensive twink crap because at the end of the day it adds up to not much maybe 300g from 1-80 on gearing probably less.... and it makes your bot kill faster,live longer and not be as bot like. Oh and at 80 probably invest a few actual hours doing heroics for some decent gear and so you have somethng other than farming if you get flagged.
