That would be funny shit. Turn up to the next BlizzCon dressed as the HonorBuddy Wasp. I wonder if they would let you through the doors.

people did stuff like that last year, they didnt care. Now, a full blown wasp... thats another story, but they couldn't not let you in if you paid. i Love my HB shirt i got a few years ago.

Is it possible to play wildstar at endgame? Servers still full?

I bought it but only played until lvl 15

After lifechat discusion i'm not smarter then before..

Every Gamemaster is still unfriendliy in relation to question about banns...

all my tickets getting cancelled, so nothing gets through anymore

ive already quoted eutopan laws and stuff, but they dont even read appeals, its auto close.

I greatly appreciate the updates are being provided to us, it keeps the hope alive that those of us that purely use Honorbuddy to allow us to enjoy the game without the bullshit grindines, that this is again possible, albeit with a brand new account.

Here comes my question. Coming from another software engineer, before I botted again, I wanted to have some understanding of what method Blizzard was able to use to detect HB, without specifics of course. I know another user posted this, that although a day ago Bossland/Tony responded that the bot should be back up soon, this normally means that the hole was found and is in the process of being patched. This says to me that, along with the certainty in the appeal response emails of the infractions, this was purely a detection at the lowest level and not analysis of combat routines or behavior. I know about 90% of the users would not understand the specifics, but I think in this situation, all of them would appreciate the detail of at least how HB was detected; what was done to fix it should obviously be kept internal. Obviously Blizzard know's how they did it, so disclosing this information wouldn't expose HB to any additional risk.

I just wanted to end with my appreciation for everyone's efforts. I was actually one of the original contributors to a project called WowSharp a very long time ago and remember all of the meetings and discussions we had when it came to hiding our presence to Blizzard... I know this is an ongoing effort, and is an uphill battle, often times more time is spent protecting the bot than is spent enhancing it.

Based on how many people who bot were not banned, Im not convinced of their software detection.

I think it was mostly done through log patterns analyzation. Perhaps we all used kicks quests or we were all using enyo or a CR or or something. Patterns would emerge.

There are many other ways they can see who is cheating. Update warden and see who disconnects when the update is pushed out. Do this a couple of times to confirm.

A more fun way (which I doubt they are using) is go through popular profiles that are used for questing. Find a random npc that profile interacts with. Now change the location of that NPC to somewhere else. However, leave a dummy NPC there that people can interact with to a degree.

There are many many ways they could detect HB without the need to scan our systems.

I did notice a couple of weekends ago that my hb window had something flash in corner of my eye but I didnt catch what it was, then game shut down..but I cant tell you that I think it was any kind of detection as at the time i was also having random fps issues and lag spikes and thought something in BRF had stuffed me up

For me it was random disconnects from wow ..wondering if maybe thats what they were using to pinpoint the HB users?

What I do not understand in that manner; why does WoW gets closed in case of a Tripwire event? Just close HB, leave WoW running. That seems to me as a LOT less suspicious...

because HB makes alterations to WoW in memory, the game has to be closed so these alterations can not be picked up by a scan.
 
I see alot of people trying to read into why accounts got banned
For me its simple HB was detected

Have you noticed no one has got their accounts back, everyone has been given an automated reply and any further appeals are just ignored
For them to be that sure (legally speaking) they have to be sitting on a 100% detection method that will stand up in any court
How many rich kids with top law professional parents use HB? and will cry and blame it on HB, it only takes one win in court for everyone to get thier accounts back
Blizzard have to be water tight with evidence

They know you ran it, they logged it and they banned it
If you didnt get banned your just lucky maybe there was not enough logs to be 100% maybe you just slipped through the admin's net
but for me its a simple truth that they know how to detect it

Only answer is if the devs know 100% how bliz achieved this (im sure someone at bliz will talk they have such an ego)
And then make a release thats 100% safe from that detection method

The its upto bliz to find another way (which they will)
And then the whole thing happens again...usually towards a new expansion or some other money spinning event (token)
If i remember right everyone using glider got banned just before a new expansion?
im sure lots of people wont agree and while no one on this forum knows for sure its all speculation one thing is sure, that they can detect HB

If it is 100% detected then why were so may users (including gold botters) left untouched?
