Guild Wars 2 Buddy bot

a grind bot would be useful, but the buddy team always seems to want to take things that extra 500 miles and fully script everything in the game :O

this is good and bad :O

True. But not for GW2. I'm just thinking of a end game tool that people use to farm while they sleep; a bit like the original Gatherbuddy or like Tank Leader.

I really think that would be the ticket Hawk, from what I saw the events and quests have a huge scope, but gathering and grinding money is going to be in high demand much like in GW1

Well, at least in start, that would be more than enough, if you can make a bot that can farm mats or same mobs over and over while people are AFK, no need for fancy event doing or something like that, unless, you see huge amount of people asking for it, which I highly doubt.

Most of the botters just want to have an easy grind with the bot.

I know this is a complicated decision for the dev team but, CodenameG, I'm sure many many many people will buy a bot for GW2. I saw so many posts on other forums (and in these forums) of people who are looking for a "good" bot for Guild wars 2. Also, I'm sure that is more complicated make a bot for GW than SWTOR or WoW. I say yes for this, I want a bot from the BuddyTeam for Guild Wars 2.

We've had a look and the game can be reversed but I don't see what demand there would be for a bot. What would a GW2 bot need to be able to farm?

depending on what the game will look like in the final version you want the bot be able to grind specific areas, maybe some events, or instance areas (like it was in gw1)

so all in all a simple combat bot able to farm an area or waypoints would be fairly enough for the start...

in the end you will want a bot that will farm a specific region, event, instance for what ever the endgame will provide on gold-zones, important currency-swap items, or crafting materials (like the ecto scripts for gw1 for example)

maybe you want to simplify the bot this time (if you are really going to make one) at least for the start

- easy combat setup (use skill when not on cd, use skill every xx seconds,...) instead of complex combat behaviours
- simple navigation (waypoint based, run around randomly in a marked area,....)

and do not go with full questing, tradeskilling, combat behaviours, complex navigation system,....
before you release the product and miss all the first week(s) sales (again).

all additional features could be implemented later on but is not required for the first stage i think - if it is required at all - because most of the botters want to farm with their toons while sleeping, or want to farm with their botfarm to buy some icecream and the ticket to the open air bath and not have their bot make them all questing, leveling talent speccing, exploring, profession skilling in the first place...

further development could be paid from the first sells...
- maybe making an expansion pack then to upgrade the bot from grinding only, to what ever you want to add
- or just upgrade the bot if continously sales (lifetimes and or yearly subs) amortize the ongoing development
- or make only 1 year licenses for a fair price at all for a steady income to ensure development, like you do with bw
so much possibilities to leave the present buddy sales and product politics for a well deserved try!

in the end i have no clue about coding, so i have no clue about the difference of necessary input to code a bot with all the possibilities like hb has for example and the input for a simple grindbot to start off in the first place, just wanted to throw in some suggestions for a possible gw2 bot or whatever comes along.

Grind bot for PVP, WvWvW, crafting, leveling.

Crafting, Leveling, Gathering, Grinding.

I think PvP is too fast pased to bot, it's a lot more dynamic than wow or other mmos. (imo) WvW I never tried, but imagine it's in the same boat.

I hope they don't. They're already extremely slow updating DB and the swtor bot add another and you won't ever get updates.

Wasn't swtor bot abandonded? And I think db is close to finished, it bots great for me. Other than the random dungeon exploration it does everything I need.

rift was abandoned, we still dev for swtor and db

db will be the only bot that can successfully do random dungeons

if the db team won't do it, any one know of any other group who will? i haven't heard of anyone creditable to take on such a monstrous task.

GW2Minion - Bot & Assist Tool for Guild Wars 2 - MMOMinion

This guy is reputable enough to have created undetectable bots for
1) Aion
2) RIFT

However, the guy charges exorbitant monthly subscription fees to his botting software (to make it unprofitable for commercial gold farmers to invest in his bot), he doesn't offer lifetime licenses.

So is this something that could be as profitable as d3 in the beginning? There seem to be a big community there so atleast there will be a lot of players, I havent read up anything on the game so dont know how the game is designed tho
