Why would being 1400+ help surviving without life per fury spent? Armor from str, or what am i missing, dont understand the logic.
Nice question
It basically all boils down to whether or not we can "facetank" the bosses.
As we gain paragons, we both gain toughness from the strength, but also dps, which means that we spend less time on the bosses, and therefore have to kite less.
I've tried to illustrate this in the following math, with two scenarios:
Assumptions:
- spending 20 fury per second (with sprint being spammed)
- 15mil toughness (as described in the guide)
- DPS with BIS gear (heals have higher value, if dps is lower)
- We have to kite on several bosses
- Effective heals is the heals we get when kiting
- Effective toughness is toughness from d3planner, with all buffs
- When toughness goes up, the weithed value per HP goes up (relevent when discussing "facetanking" the bosses)
Scenario 1:
800 paragon: 2.6 BN DPS simulated (
http://www.d3planner.com/617715897)
Life per fury: 1215
- Toughness: 84M
- Guardian fight time 57 seconds
- Heals gained:
- Life per fury: 1.39mil hp gained (even while kiting*)
- Life per sec: 0.97mil hp gained (even while kiting*)
- Heal from templar: 0.48mil hp gained (193,112*2.5)
- Life per hit: *Not enough to facetank Ghom, Choker etc...
- Life from WW crit: *Not enough to facetank Ghom, Choker etc...
- Total heals: 2.84mil hp gained
(Cooldown calculated here:
http://bluecubic.com/cdr.html)
All ress:
- Toughness: 93M
- Guardian fight time: 57 seconds
- Heals gained:
- Life per sec: 0.97mil hp gained (even while kiting*)
- Heal from templar: 0.48mil hp gained (193,112*2.5)
- Life per hit: *Not enough to facetank Ghom, Choker etc...
- Life from WW crit: *Not enough to facetank Ghom, Choker etc...
- Total heals: 1.45mil hp gained
Effective toughness gained: 93/84=1.10714 =10.7%
Effective heals gained: 2.84/1.45=1.96 =96%
Scenario 2:
1400 paragon: 3.5 BN DPS simulated (
http://www.d3planner.com/617715897)
Life per fury: 1215
- Toughness: 98M
- Guardian fight time 42 seconds
- Heals gained:
- life per fury: 1mil hp gained (even while kiting*)
- Life per sec: 0.72mil hp gained (even while kiting*)
- Heal from templar: 0.48mil hp gained (193,112*1.84)
- Life per hit: *Not enough to facetank Ghom, Choker etc...
- Life from WW crit: *Not enough to facetank Ghom, Choker etc...
- Total heals: 2.2mil hp gained
(Cooldown calculated here:
http://bluecubic.com/cdr.html)
All ress:
- Toughness: 108.6M
- Guardian fight time: 42 seconds
- Heals gained:
- life per fury:
- Life per sec: 0.72mil hp gained (even while kiting*)
- Heal from templar: 0.48mil hp gained (193,112*1.84)
- Life per hit: *Close to being enough for facetanking
- Life from WW crit: *Close to being enough for facetanking
- Total heals: 1.2mil hp gained
Effective toughness gained: 108.6/98=1.10816 =10.8%
Effective heals gained: 2.2/1.2=1.83 =83%
.............................................
The thing which can cost us dearly on our xp/h is if we die; both because we loose pools, but also if it causes us to have a wipefest of a couple of minuts on a boss, due to taeguk not being stacked.
The best place to get back our HP when kiting, is from life per fury spend.
Further, it is easier to "give up" a defensive stat on another piece of gear, when you are 1400+ use all-ress, or %life on belt.
So as long as you don't get one-shot by the boss, or a pack, it is better to have life per fury!
Hope this helped a bit
TLDR: below paragon 1400= Life per fury on belt is best - above 1400 all ress of % life is fine and viable.
