In this guide, I will show you how to make your very own Gatherbuddy profile!

Note: This is the way to make simple profiles Easy without much hassle around with code.
You DO NOT need to fly the exact route if you are using ZapRecorder, you can fly how ever you want to fly to make the profile more personal.

Before we start, You need to download 3 addons (listed below) and install them in your WoW AddOns folder.

Gathermate2
Gathermate2_Data
]

Good, now that you have those installed, it's time to download and install the plug-ins You will be using.

ZapRecorder
Routesbuddy2

EmptyProfile (Download on the botton of this guide)
Install them in your Honorbuddy Plugins folder.

Okey! Let's start!

Start up WoW and login and all that, and start up Honorbuddy.

Go to the location you want to make a profile for. In this guide I will be using Krasarang Wilds but you can choose any location you want.

Next is to import the data we need to be able to find a route we can follow.

Type /gathermate in the chat and you will get this window:

Check the Herbalism and Mining if you want to make a profile for those and click "Import GatherMate2Data".

Close the window and type /routes and you will get this window:

Click the "Add" button and tick the Herbalism and/or Mining check box and name your profile and click "Okay". Next is to click "Create Route". If you check your map now it will probably look something like this: And it's okey, we are gonna fix that now!

Next step is to cluster the area we want to make a profile in. To do that, we go back into /routes and click the "+" to the right of "Routes" and you will find your route there. As in the picture shows, I am in Krasrang Wilds and I named my route to Karsang. Click your route and click the "Optimize Route" tab. Keep the Cluster Radius around 85-95. Then click "Foreground" or "Background", depends on your computer.

After the cluster and optimization is done your map will look something like this:

Now are we done inside WoW for now.
Set the bot to "Grindbot" and load the EmptyProfile.
Now open your Honorbuddy plugin list and tick "ZapRecorder2" and click "Show Recorder"

Click "Start Recording" and fly the route you did just make on your map inside WoW! (Stop a few yards from where you started to prevent overlapping)
To add Mailbox, fly to a mailbox (preferably in the same zone as you are making the profile in), stand close to it and click "Add Mailbox" and you did add a mailbox to your profile!
Finding areas with places you get stuck in or alot of mobs, "Add Blackspot" is the thing to use, you can change the radius inside Zaprecorder in the "Settings" tab or in the profile itself (the .xml file)
Alot of way to make your profile personal, play around with ZapRecorder :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Routesbuddy is down here! :)

Follow all the steps down to ZapRecorder. Pick Routesbuddy instead of ZapRecorder.

Click "RouteBuddy2".
Click "Import" and it will load for a few seconds as it gathers the data.
When it's done, you will get 1 or more to choose from (if you have done the steps above in more zones)

Click "Export" and choose where you wanna save it (I made a new folder inside my HB folder to make it easier to find them), and you are done!
(To these profiles, you need to add mailbox and/or vendors on your own, to get the coords for the a mailbox, go to one and in Honorbuddy click "Developer tools", and click the refresh button to the right of the three 0s. Double click the numbers you get and add the following lines (examples numbers!) in your profile)
<Mailboxes>
<Mailbox X="123.456" Y="789.0123" Z="4567.890" />
</Mailboxes>

Glad you like it!
I might write a guide on how to do that tomorrow, to longer than I expected to write this one :)

Awesome post! This is just what I was looking for. I was dreading having to insert each hot spot by hand into a profile, ain't nobody got time for that!

Just a question - is there any way to just use the route created by the routes addon as a profile?
As in, rather than having to manually fly the route on the map, have the bot just use it as it is o.O?

Edit: You can actually literally just save the route made as a profile and run it and it will work fine - however you won't yet have a mailbox or vendors, and I suppose it isnt totally optimised to prevent cases of gettnig stuck or bugging out zig-zagging around tree bases. Many thanks!

As in the guide, I did write that using Routesbuddy it will NOT add mailbox etc for you. You have to add that by yourself.

Great guide!
Im sorry if this is a stupid question...When I try to optimize the route it says there are too many nodes. What do I do?
Thanks

Try to clean up the database. /gathermate then "Maintenance" and click the long "Cleanup Database" button, and it should work.
Had to delete wows cache folder for mine to work after a while

Hi Ch1p, I realise that :)

What I was asking is, will the bot fly a decent route if I dont manually record it with zaprecorder, or is it a lot more likely to run into trees and zigzag up down left right etc?

This is a good "beginner" guide. All the sharp turns your path has in the example aren't good for pathing. Wide and shallow swoops through areas are much more effective.

can some one tell me exactly how to install ZapRecorder, I copy the SVN then go to my plugins folder and make a folder and named it ZapRecorder then i used svn checkout, but it doesnt show up in plugins on hb

The best profiles are made manually without addons. Know the areas that are rich in herbs. Never rely on an addon to help you make a profile :) Cheers!

Awesome tutorial, I have gotten banned twice using public profiles on this forum with gatherbuddy. Ever since I have made my own I have been maxing out my nodes more than what I ever got with public profiles and also haven't been banned. Thank you so much!

Don't let routes setup a path for you. It will setup the same path for everyone, So when you make a profile your still all making the same one. Create bare root.
