I figured it's about time I contribute a little bit to this forum. To everyone from tin-foil enthusiasts to people that simply want to protect their accounts, following is a simple guide to obtain an authenticator and new phone # for all of your accounts for free! I'm not going to go in depth with screenshots and all that, because if you're smart enough to use a bot, you should be smart enough to figure out how to associate the authenticator/SMS protect to your Battle.net account.

What you will need:
Cell phone
Google email account

1) The open source authenticator can be located here: WinBMA_2.0.4713.34518_Setup.exe - winbma - WinBMA Installer: 2.0.4713.34518 - WinBMA: Windows Battle.net Authenticator - Google Project Hosting. Once you install this program, creating your authenticators are easy as pie! You can even name all of your authenticators. I've named all my authenticators under what each account's address is.

2) -DELETED- VOIP Phone numbers no longer work for SMS protect. Your best bet would be getting a global prepaid phone from the US or something to that extent.

Add these to your battle.net and enjoy!

Neat idea but FYI, you can't use a VOIP number (like one from Google Voice) for RMAH paypal authentication. I use Google Voice as my only cell phone, works great except in times like this.

You're having issues with your? I made a RMAH on mine, not sure if it's just bugged or if I should expect a suspension here soon lol .

I prefer the WinBMA because of it's GUI. It's very organized and I have 20 authenticators registered to that single program. If I remember right, you have to make a different copy of winauth for every copy.. Perhaps they changd that since I last played.

You're totally right. It wont let me register SMS to voip. I'm not sure why it let me did it with one ofmy accounts.

Only your Diablo 3 account should've been banned -- not your Battle.net account... On the main page (when you login to battle.net), click "Edit Battle.net SMS protect" on the bottom left. Remove SMS protect and you're good to go... You can attach it to another account.

If you want to change your phone number on your main account, because you're paranoid or whatever, you can attach a VOIP to your account. You just cannot associate a VOIP number to SMS protect.

Yep. If it's strictly for RMAH purposes, prepaid phones are definitely the way to go.

Question is: how can I use the US RMAH in Europe? Getting a prepaid card on ebay is the way to go?

Haven't ever used a prepair SIM card like that. I used to pickup a $10 Euro vodaphone when I still lived in Germany lol..

Im thinking about moving my bots from EU to US.
All my bot keys are Global so I should be able to use them all on the US servers.
I do not live in the US, nor do I have a US Paypal or Phone number.

Do I need a US paypal or is a US phone number enough? Also, do I need a *** so Blizzard cant see im in the EU?
Im still trying to figure out how I am going to get a US Phone number xD

The authenticator still works, but the VOIP method no longer does. I'm assuming they patched it a while back. When they first released RMAH, I was able to associate my VOIP numbers to my accounts.

I purchased a SIM card on ebay and took it to a vodaphone booth to have them swap it. Tossed like $20 on the phone, put it on roaming, and attached the account to it through text.
