well considering the length of time it's taking for boss to explain something this "simple" does not instill any confidence in me. hope i'm wrong.

We have not given anyone's info - nor would we. We are however creating a paid plugin system so that Raphus gets rewarded for his hard work. IB is a great gift and its a pity some have been flaming him since it was released.

Sorry but it was. I created a new account just to post how lame it was on the forums. when the mute was lifted i could log into the bot. don't tell me it's not true because it is.
 
The InstanceBuddy code is not all that "special". I have decompiled IB into IL and have been looking at what he is doing in that obsfucated dll. All in all... we could create a new one if needed.

I personally do not care if a bot/plugin uses a dll. It would be nice to have a section on the forums/wiki where "approved" bots that use a dll could be posted by the HB staff.
Otherwise show a message in HB that will inform the user that a bot is using an"un-approved" dll.

Apparently only dlls that have been compiled by the HB team can be used...

Also... anytime a call is made to retrieve the user's WoW account information (character name, server, & account name) and it would be highly beneficial if the user could be notified that the bot/plugin/CC/etc. is accessing this via a log screen or some other mechanism.
As of right now any bot/plugin/CC/etc can record your WoW account information (character name, server, & account name) and post this information (email, ftp, http, etc.)
This is why I fully look at all bot/plugin/CC/etc I use except for the ones built into HB.

The owner of IB needs to understand that people will be people and not take things personally.
He may do something they do not like and they may do something he might not like... such is life.
If he wishes to activate/inactivate a bot/plugin/CC/etc. that is his business but it should be done thru some other mechanism and not thru obtaining our account information thru HB staff (though I highly doubt this is the case).

I think anytime a user is behaving inappropriately it is not our place to determine how they should be punished or if they should. We communicate to the HB staff what is going on and let them handle it in whatever way they feel is appropriate.

i think that post 1 was a good idia i also see no problem with someone blocking people from using there work when you use IB there is a TOS that you ok to use it. think that is was a grave mistake that your forum account and bot account are not the same also allowing anyone to download anything from this forum with out having HB or GB was a bad idea my bot account user name is the same as my forum if i am out of line using your plug in for CC please ban me its yours not mine
 
Giving anyone who has paid to use HB/GB's info out to anyone who isn't a staff member is just wrong. And if bossland really did this I would lose alot of respect for him. And for raphus banning people from his plugin for stupid shit is just retarded. So what if someone dosnt use a bug tracker. Not everyone on here knows how to use it and really cares to take time to search it. May get annoying to the devs but really they should get use to it or ignore the post. Not ban people from there stuff...

It's a childish way to deal with childish people.

There are morons in every walk of life, forums included. We all have to deal with them, in different respects.
 
I'm not taking sides, nor do I care at all about my info being given to Ralph or whoever. However, if Bossland did do this he's defiantly not going to come and say he did. Would be extremely stupid business wise. I honestly don't think he'd be stupid enough to do it in the first place though.
 
I'm sorry shutting your plugin down after so many people have donated and your getting paid for it in the future is unacceptable. Not only are you getting paid twice for it, you are cutting off access to people who have already "paid" for it. Not to mention he's been selling a "donator" version with extra features to people behind the scenes. Yes. If you tell someone you'll give someone something special if you donate, thats SELLING and BUYING. Not donating.

I personally only used version 1.0.1 or something like that for 2 or 3 days. I haven't used it since, and will never use it again, nor recommend that anyone else will use it after this. Honestly. As confident as he was about what he said I believe that peoples information WAS given out. As well has having everyone answer except the person accused of doing it.

Your going to deal with stupid people every day in life. That doesn't mean you can run around and shoot them in the head to deal with it. Grow up. As long as this is not hosted on buddy servers I'll never load it into my bot again. Now that I know he's collecting user names theres no telling what else he's collecting and might get butt hurt one day and give out.

Now I have to spend a couple hours going through his CC and making sure he's not doing anything hinky in there before I even feel comfortable using it.

Not to mention I've been banned from this forum for doing less and now it looks like this is going to slide. Poor business decisions in my book.
