I voted "Yes" because I've used your projects in the past, and they've all worked extremely well. They've all been well written, and when support was needed, you were there to offer it ASAP. You're a great contributor to this community, and you deserve some compensation every now and then for your hard work. As soon as I get a little extra, I'll send you some wine funds. Like what sort of programming language do you have to learn to do something like this?

I want to make something like this, but more like an AIO bot base with txt scripts that can be change and loaded on the fly.

A completely self contained botbase that can do everything and anything without any plugins.

Ok, I just went back and watched your video with all of the UI. I have a couple of questions:

1. Are you planning to add AH support? Would be great to fill up bags to a certain limit and then post the items to the AH.
2. Is there a setting to avoid all mobs near nodes? How about just elites?
3. Does this have pre-programmed nodes, or does it just find them on the fly? If it has nodes programmed in, how many nodes are programmed?
4. Does this connect to your server for meshing or does this use HB's?
5. Will this have features, ala Professionbuddy, to start with a level 1 mining/herb and have it run all the way to 600 including training?

I'm very interested in this project. I have several accounts I can throw away if needs be to test (aka. 15-24 hours a day worth of farming).

ofc will donate but we still need to test it and see how often blizz can catch this with a normal using not 24/7 I'm till now good with GB2+randombuddy been doing it for months now for 8h/6d but this run time is very low and not that profile you get from running it like this need testers for at lest 16/7 and see how well this goes

Let me answer some of these....

I am hesitant at "buying" third party content here. There has been a couple times I have bought a routine or such and then the author stops updating. However, when I try things out, even if its a free version that's missing paid features, if its really good and does things that hb doesnt then I always try to donate.

You are not buying anything, mainly because I am not selling anything. If have you have been reading the Farmer Joe development thread - going back a few months now - you would know this project is FREE and that has always been my intention. The purpose of this poll is to judge how willing the community would be to make a donation once Farmer Joe has been released.

The only two i've donated for on this forum are Tuanha and Mirabis. Until this botbase is proven to be WAY better than using gb2, I won't be opening up my checkbook. I definitely would not pay while its in its beta phase. that would be like me (as a hairstylist) asking the client to pay and tip me before they get to see what their hair looks like. I DO believe in donating to people, who do amazing things that benefit my every day botting experience. So try asking for donations once the botbase is done and better than GB2

Again, no one is asking for payment. Because nothing is being sold. You analogy is in accurate given my intentions. Absolutely nowhere in this entire thread do you see me asking for people to give me money, be it up front or after the fact. The poll raises a question and that is all. If people are making donations then they are doing so by their own free will.

Well, if I understand you question then you are asking for a donation in order to use your Botbase. If that's right, then my answer is: No, I wouldn't.

I'm against donating to project in order to use them. If your botbase is great and I can see that you have spend a lot of time developing it, then I would consider donating.
But I think it's wrong to call it a donation in this situation, I would call it buying. If your Botbase is good, then buying it wouldn't be a problem, but I wouldn't call it donating.
Donating to a project shouldn't be a requirement to use it.

I hope you don't get me wrong, as I like your projects and I'm not trying to say that your product isn't worth a donation. I'm looking forward to see this botbase in action properly and hopefully test it myself (If you release a lite version or something).

Let me correct you where you are wrong, which consists of your entire post. I am not asking for donations in order to use my botbase, asking for payment in order to use a product is the definition of selling something. I am not selling anything. This project will be released free to the public regardless of anyone paying / donating a single cent. I don't understand how you came to the conclusion that I am selling Farmer Joe?

DIDN"T ask but, this thread he made here is only because he wants donations. Even if he didn't ask for them thats what's the thread for )) . I still think you should just give it out to the public now . If what you made is GOOD people that HAVE money will appreciate and donate . ppl that don't have money will appreciate (but will not donate) , maybe in a future project they will. This thread about beta testing and donations is so much money making to me, clearly buissness .I wouldn't throw a single dollar just because of this thread.(Can still find and use random profiles for what i need to do) Cheers.

Let me be entirely honest, yes I would very much like donations but only if people find value in this project. I have spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours working on this and it would be nice to receive some kind of monetary reward for it. But I did not develop Farmer Joe with the intention of making money, it was developed when I became fed up with the obvious flaws in the existing gathering botbase.

Farmer Joe will be released as a free open source project, that is what I have stated from day one. If people choose to show their appreciation by making a monetary donation I would not be adverse to receiving such. Likewise, if not a single person makes a donation - while I would be disappointed - that would be acceptable.





To sum up, I am not selling Farmer Joe. It has always been my intention to release it as an open source free project. I do accept donations but I do not expect them, I can understand the confusion around the term "donation" as a number of 3rd party developers have in the past incorrectly used the term in order to sell their payment only versions. But if you had been following the development thread from you would be fully aware of my intentions to provide Farmer Joe free of charge and full of features. There will not be a paid version with more features, there is only a single version and it will be publicly released.

I guess you are not aware of the Farmer Joe development thread that dates back around 3-4 months.

3. The included database has an extensive list of nodes that I have preivously gather from, new node locations are added to the database when they are discovered.
4. No server to connect to. There are no meshes as such.
