pirox was in germany.. and blizz scared him enough into a settlement or something, nobody knows... why is germany's law so in favor of hb? can someone explain?

That is because AFAIK Pirox owned was in it for money alone, probably settled out of court with Bliz (well, that's obvious) so they wouldn't sue him, he closes shop, keeps all the money.

Pirox could of probably fought like HB is doing, but again, he hightailed it.

EDIT: As to why HB as an advantage in Germany, no idea. I am not a lawyer, nor is anyone else on the forums. But they like to wiki copyright laws and start quoting stuff like they know what they are talking about. Read the other threads, primarily the first one that was originally posted when HB was injunctioned (right word?) by Blizzard. There's a lot fo forum lawyer's in there that explain stuff. Are they right? Probably not, but w/e.

In the end its all up to the judge. One judge may favor one side and the judge next door might favor the other. This is assuming the judge dosent get a call from a "special intest" party that might influnce the decision.

Also a lawyer, but not in Germany... I have heard that about Germany though: the judges have a lot of power.

They also don't really give a crap if your a huge company, or just an individual.
 
i would hope with my big dream that the judge who is a bot using HB to play WoW, it would end the court case easier and HB would keep continue bot for so long time..its just my wish of dream...

he would have cut and run due to making his bot available to private servers thus affecting blizzards profits giving them a very good case
 
TBH, if HB wins i think blizzard will start using warden to search for the bot.

I doubt they will take it on the chin and let hb carry on, i could be wrong but i know i wouldnt.

Currently warden is just a vessel.
Think of it like HB, it accepts different profiles while running.

Same thing. Blizzard sends it profiles and runs it attempting to find haxxorz, no update or restart needed. Just Blizz can't use it since HB is a beast, and has the TripWire. They would have to rewrite a lot of stuff.

That's why D3 has that Agent.exe to run alongside to look for third party applications.

Because Pirox settled it mentions he didn't have to give any personal information of its users.

I'm curious since buddy software is fighting it, is there a chance they could lose and end up having to give away the personal information of its users to blizzard?



And no1knowsy Agent.exe that runs along side d3 instead of warden, does it only scan process's that are attached to the d3 client? curious..

1)Correct

2)Always a chance to lose, but personal information is a no.

3)I don't have specifics on what it exactly does. I do know that The Buddy Team is more than capable of getting around it with no destructive problems :)
 
I'd be more concerned about when are they gonna start using that agent.exe with wow...

Oh so personal information about who uses the bot ect will never be given out no matter what happens in the law suit?

Who cares? If they want to ban you, they could do it quickly. I believe, they already know all HB users and that they're just collecting them for the next, big banwave.
