Hello all, I am planning on building a computer capable of botting at least 8 bots at all times (ideally 12). I know Intel processors are better than AMD. Right now I'm looking at:
Processor: Newegg.com - AMD FX-8150 Zambezi 3.6GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8150FRGUBOX
RAM: Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-1866C10Q-32GXL
Mobo: I can't seem to find a highly rated AMD mobo on Newegg so I have no idea here.
Case: This depends on the PSU and motherboard, yes?
PSU: Ultra LSP650 650-Watt Power Supply - ATX, SATA-Ready, SLI-Ready, 135mm Fan, Lifetime Warranty w/ Registration at TigerDirect.com
HDD: Seagate ST1000DM003 Barracuda 1TB Hard Drive - 7200RPM, 64MB, SATA 6Gb/s at TigerDirect.com
SSD: Crucial CT064M4SSD1 m4 64GB SATA 6Gb/s 2.5 Solid State Drive - 64GB, SATA, 6Gb/s, 7mm, 2.5 at TigerDirect.com

Any suggestions for better deals or improvements over the parts I listed would be much appreciated. I mostly need help understanding what type of mobo I need and which brand is most reliable. Thanks all! I'm trying to hit a budget of about $1000-$1200.

What do you prefer for graphics, AMD or Nvidia? Are you going to crossfire or SLI (important for mobo choice)? Are you only putting games on that 64GB SSD? Which store is out of state from you: tigerdirect or newegg (order out of state to avoid taxes). Do you need USB 3.0 header on mobo for your case front panel? Are you going to overclock your CPU?

The best setup i've ever built was all AMD, Phenom II X6 1090T, 16GB DDR3 1033, 2 x 120GB SSD, and a Radeon HD 5770, super cheap, put WoW to lowest reso, maxFPS/maxFPSBK to 30, and turn off sound, you'd be amazed how many you can run. Black Friday is coming too, so I built mine for around $600 last year.

exact same setup except ram and SSD, I get around 180 fps on one WoW client.... sound also disabled :).

you got SSD, I got HDD that makes noises when I touch the cable slightly.

If you allow me a suggestion... go farm some other game, every day the games dies a little more, every day theres more botters and less players

I plan on overclocking the cpu yes. The 64 gb ssd is for league of legends; the os and whatever other games ill play. The hdd is for the d3 folders. Im indifferent to video card brand; i just want a good one thats compatible and in the 300-400 dollar range and i dont plan on using sli or crossfire.

Both sites are out of state for me as well. Usb 3.0 isnt useful to me.

your missing power and performance by going with ATI/AMD

plus why would you want to mix chipsets and videocards

amd = ati = motherboards chipset maker/designer to make it compatible/communicate

amd + nvidia = not the best idea

either way it will work, just dont expect any miracles running a AMD processor.

BTW witht hat rig your going to need to buy a nicer PSU that that ultra. its 750w max but prob only can put out 500 at its best day.
either way teh 4xx series is very power hungry. might want to get a 800-850 gold cert psu for that one if you plan to run it 24-7 or OC (then again you bought an AMD so your prob not planning on doing much overclocking LOL)

I've been going off of passmark.com and comparing prices. I want something that's not only good but also cost efficient. Intel CPUs are definitely better but the AMD-8150 FX beats any intel within its price range by a lot. If I could, I would go with a 6 core i7 but that's $600 lol.

to ^

just dont forget that most testing done, is not with a Max intel OC. most intels if cooled properly can amazingly blow the shit out of the next step processor.

on my main PC, i maintain a 24-7 1.5ghz OC with only 0.10v+ voltage. that means i can use the stock heatsink (which i eventually did replace) and get a massive speed boost.
just remember that, a little investment in time, with a lower i7 (even the first gen, second revision) can usually fight pretty good if overclocked

never underestimate getting a bare-bone kit. find a intel CPU on sale with a motherboard and start from there, individually you can get the best parts, but if cost is really an issue remember something that is invested in, has a lot more chance of not needing to be replaced so soon
