hey guys i wanted a computer that ran 8 to 10 bots. I'm kinda good at figuring programming stuff out but i have never bothered to learn about hardware. Learning to build one (i'm thinking) would take a few weeks? or maybe within a month to actually finally build one? will it be faster just to buy one? how much does one cost to build? or to buy already built? any tips on how to learn? I know i'm asking alot that could already be searched, but i'll prob head to bed soon and i'd like to wake up with a good head start

you can build one in a few hours after you get all the parts, so depending on how much you want to pay for shipping you can get it done by the end of the week.

there are also video tutorials on youtube, with step by step guides, its worth to learn it!

the great feeling when its up and running:cool:

everyone should build a computer at least once.
not everyone can build a car, but everyone can build a pc, and they should have that experience at least once.

Please build it rather than buy it. It allows you build what you want actually.

build it ur own. it ist cheaper u get more power for ur money and u ll learn about hardware

Building your own computer is more fun, and in the end you get everything you want in it. Don't settle for the crappy generic parts they put in pre-made PC's, and all that bloat ware on their windows/software disc. Very easy to learn how to build a computer from the web and YouTube. Mostly plug and play.

Build your own PC! IMO.

craigslist. if you get lucky you get the parts you want for almost half the price :)

Murphy's Law always comes in. For example, Gigabyte Motherboards always have the incorrect BIOS version which rejects newer hardware and the faster clockspeed RAM.

thats a sketchy place for people who aren't 100% sure of what they want, most craigslist sellers are there on craigslist for a reason.

hardest part for me was figuring out where all the damn wires went. also i recommend the guy's tip about building it outside the case first to make sure everything works before installing it into the tower. my first rig, i mounted the processor upside down and was really confused why machine wouldn't turn on derp de derp derp

If you don't want to build it, atleast purchase your own parts and look into local shops to assemble it.

My cousin did this and the guy charged $50 to assemble it and he did it in about an hour with us there. Afterwards, I built my own.

It's extremely simple, literally like building a lego set. If you have any mechanical ability (Able to use a screw driver without slipping off 100x), I would say it would be a very simple process.

Fortunately for me, I didn't have any issues. But if I were to have ran into the computer not posting or something, trouble shooting would be a bit more difficult, but if you have a separate way to access the internet (phone, 2nd comp, etc), googling for help is pretty easy.

Edit: I also watched the video the guy posted right above me before my build. I also assembled outside the case first as well.

ive been playing around with building/buying and after loads of calculating and research i came to the conclusion that building one although it gives you lots of flexibility on what components you use, is unfortunately ultimately more expensive than buying one.
You know sites where you can tell them what to put on your computer is always cheaper (by about 100 - 200 dollars for a 1500 dollar worth of parts computer)
but this is because i live in the states.
build your own - more flexibility on componants but more expensive
have it built - slightly less flexibility on componants but ~ 200 dollars cheaper per 1500 dollars worth of equipment
(US dollars and i live in the US)
i got mine built here 3 years ago - CyberPowerPC - UNLEASH THE POWER - Create the Custom Gaming PC and Laptop Computer of your dreams
Another such site
iBUYPOWER Gaming PC: Custom Gaming Computers and Laptops

now at the time cyber power was cheaper for the same computer than ibuyp
not sure how it works now, id say look around online for similar but NEW sites (usually they will be cheaper because they just started off)
Most importantly though pls read reviews on the site so you dont get scammed
finally pro tip : always go for the "free shipping" deals as this will save you some money :)
take care hope you decide accordingly and make a great computer, let us know what specs you get on that beast when you do :D be it build your own or Built <3

wow thanks, thats a kick ass guide. Thanks guys i'm currently searching for a build that'll run 8 to 10 diablos, i'm searching the forums right now to see what parts people typically use

hows it sketchy? a lot of people wanna do local sales, and its perfect for that! i got 2 of my i7 botting machines on there, 8gig i7 computers for $300 and $350 each, I can throw in some ram whenever and run more bots if i feel like it.

im a fan of building my own computer, but for botting machines i found this to be simpler and cheaper lol

Buy minimum i7 + crappy mobo in combo deal, cheap mem, throw in $25 case with 200W PSU that comes in case = profit (and little room for growth)

I would be surprised if the CPU was K-version, if the mobo wasn't a piece of crap (and not have something stupid like H67 chipset), the PSU was over 400W and 80%+ efficient, etc.

Unless they were being replaced personally, but by the sounds of it, he sounded like a builder.

Building a PC is a great experience.
Frustration turns to happiness when you know your hard work turned into something amazing.
Not to mention the money you will save.

Remember to leave it unplugged though...

i have built at least 50. Find a good build out there. tomshardware.com. or many other places. If you need any help let me know be glad to help you.

I have built 1 fully, upgraded few.
The one I built went for looks. Used LanLi all aluminum case. Made it very easy. Had a mother board slide out panel. Assemble on it, slide in. Worked awesome. Had window, added lights. Was fun.

Used tomshardware site to pick parts. Newegg to buy from. That computer lasted almost 8 yrs before gave it away.

Now own alienware. Will most likely build next or upgrade this one when ready.

Like others have said, all should build 1 at least once. If want to mod case, order it and case parts first. Then order rest later. Some parts only give short warranty. So if order all at once, then spend week working on case. Warranty might run out.

Wire loom works good and cheap, to wrap wires, make look cleaner and keeps wires out of way. Will help with cleaning also. Wires like to attract dust.
