Buddy Team and Star Wars: The Old Republic

Hello,

Are you making a "Singular" styled CC for the SWToR bot release? Just wondering as I would like to move from WoW CC writing to SWToR CC writing, assuming we will be allowed to. I have four level fifty's: Juggernaut - Immortal, Powertech - Shield Tech, Assassin - Darkness, and Operative - Medic. I haven't seen a Dev thread on SWToR CC's yet, so was just tickling my curiosity.

Thanks,
Dagradt

Have already bottet 2 x LVL 50 just with space missions ..............

But i hope that with this bot i will be able to farm flashpoints with 4 accounts :-)

cheers,

What did you use to bot space missions with?

Most people are using Macrgoblin or UntzBot. I used UntzBot (the free version) so far and took a Sith Jug from 0 to 37... It is a slow method of leveling, but it works, and so far no bans. You also build up a good ammount of credits, but either way you have to level at least until you get your ship.. Aside from the buddy forums OwnedCore is a good site to peruse as well...

Thanks man, will check it out - seems space missions might be slow but its probably safe as well

Agreed - there is no one in your ship to report you --- LOL --- so that helps a TON... Just have to remember to keep up with your Class Quests so that you get your Companions and build your Crew Skillz.

guys - questing is looking promising. we have a guy doing the lvl 50 dailies (both factions)... and then we have me and some other peeps doing the 1-50's (i think we're late 10's / mid 20's, dunno offhand)

Kick - what I would like to know - is is possible in the CC's to make better use of the companions healing abilities? With the game mechanics and being able to toggle to the companion bar it would seem that someone with intimate CC creation knowledge could tie the companions rotation into the mix and make them more useful then the in-game SWTOR AI functionality... Any thoughts ?

i hope it will, but that's an apoc question... Apoc gave me the basic cc and i added spells and gave them back to him so that we have a basic CC like Singular that supports the 'basic' specs (1-10)

You know what's going on with the beta invites i know i submited the information correctly but we havn't seen much of a update wondering if you need something else

I strictly use your bots, so the anticipation for this release is killing me! I've always been the one saying "Don't release it till it's DONE" but I can't help checking this site daily hping for some release news, lol.

I know a few dates have been missed and there are still major problems so whats the new eta for beta on this app ?

The macrogoblin dev said they couldnt figure out how to get the memory locations and gave up on creating a combat bot for swtor. They use pixel monitoring instead just for space missions. Are you running into the same problems with memory here ?

Based on what they have told us combat really isn't the issue. Its navigation and movement that seems to be holding them back, that doesn't shock me they set a standard for navigation with Honorbuddy it was by far the best bot out there when it came to anti-stuck and navigation. I'm assuming they just want to meet their own standards for movement.

WoW (for example) used click to move to enable "waypoints" this is a little more complex because of that I would assume, but depending on how the internal code (and detection) works it should not be a huge problem.

I don't claim to know for sure, but I have to assume some people would have problems because of OOP and GC. What I mean is that if every thing is managed through objects it can be a much more difficult task than straight inline fixed address (from the base address) psh jmp scenario. With OOP you have to find the class and the adjust the offset from the class to the method and then when the class is "cleaned" you have to find it again and this can happen at every loading screen or for unexpected reasons. At least that has been my limited experience when mem poking OOP+GC things even simple things like the amount of credits can and will move on you...

Apoc am I talking out of my anus here or is that what it is like? /curious

Pretty much spot-on.

As I've pointed out before, we have no problem with the actual memory portion of things. (In fact, I don't think any bot out there will have the stuff available that we do)

Navigation is our main issue right now, as we can't in good conscience release a bot that goes "backwards" from HBs nav. (We do have full game meshes, however there are some minor issues with missing models, etc, that we need to resolve, before polishing movement itself)

The bot can (and does) fight for you 100%. While our internal CCs aren't exactly... "advanced", its enough to get the testing done and show examples of how things work.
Questing works (minus some logic bugs), so thats a non-issue as well.
Space combat... ^^

We do have a "working" bot as of right now. But again, the issue is navigation mostly.

Side-note: Buddy Wing is moving away from the "new developer friendly" API model, and going more towards an API model that we can actually maintain, without having to jump through hoops to ensure new people can do things. The API is still very user-friendly, however we won't be having 6 different implementations for the same thing. (See: CCs)

Is it mesh related or is it as bad as I am assuming and you are being forced to use some type of virtual key press algorithm? I understand if you can't answer I am just curious.

movement works fine (following mesh) other than cutting corners too early / too sharp. but movement in combat is a little finicky and we're having to fiddle with it
Questing is great (minor qq's from me)
cc's are ok (minor qq's from me)

we have tested our 1-10's a little (a few levels) but we're still focused on developing full questing profiles. These profiles are more complex than HB's due to the questing system in swtor... it's not like 2-3 objectives per quest like in wow... sometimes it's 10-15 on some quests, which is a very big pita.

I have up to tatooine in republic / light. our republic / dark guy is MIA. and i think the sith light / dark guys are almost up to tatooine. As anyone who has played this game... each planet is more and more complex and takes longer

thx for the update

yeah, kick .. smuggler level 38 atm and its not fun questing at balmoria, when you have to do a quest just to walk on the planet from a space station..

Then alot of back and forth even if you can pick up 2-3 quests in a area its do a task and back to the same house or room find something and back for turn in to get the next part.

I will level my trooper with this bot and jedi..cant wait..

Might be early to tell but want to ask as i have a hb/gb lifetime account, will it be usable for this product or will i need to purchase this as new..and what is bossland/staff pricing this bot at? hb's current price? or a percentage more?

Just like Ryftomate, BuddyWing is a separate product and won't fall under the HB/GB license. Pricing will most likely be similar.
At least that's what Bossland's answer was last time this was asked.
