Buddy store and discontinued products before end of 18m period

The way I see it is this:

If the developer sold 100 copies under the old agreement, then no one else wanted to buy the product, they would have to support it for the 18 month period under the terms.

The fact there is a new agreement they don't agree with just prevents them from selling anymore. They should still be supporting the product for those that purchased it under the existing agreement etc. If they don't agree to the new terms, they should make their own store etc. and sell it that way, but still need to support the initial customers.

I can understand this from both sides. Yes, you signed a contract to support your product for 18 months, but in that contract does it force you to create a new WoW account if yours gets banned so that you can continue to develop and offer support? If it doesn't, then how can the developers fix and offer support if they no longer have a WoW account to do this with? It's just a thought. I personally try to look at this from both sides of the same coin. I try to understand both sides.

Not our problem. The dev took that risk when he started. He could have just given the product out for free. Instead he choose to make money off of it, so he is bound to a contract to keep up with the product.

For those who are interested in the legal aspect of this issue it has been summed up correctly a few times.

-By creating a store to purchase profiles and routines, Bossland has entered into a legally binding contract with the customer
-By setting terms with the developers, Bossland enters into its first legally binding contract with the developers
-The customer and the developers have no legally binding contract, which is the reason why the buddy store was implemented (Bossland breathing down your neck is more intimidating than forum posts)


-Bossland has to my knowledge attempted to set new terms with developers in the midst of their contract
-This is acceptable as long as the devs agree to it


-If the devs do not agree to the new terms, Bossland legally must allow the old terms to stand or allow the devs to nullify the original contract
-Many of the issues here are a mix between lazy devs who lost their accounts, and legitimate devs who are standing up against Bossland pushing them into a new contract they do not agree with


We as customers have very few options here, but the constructive feedback shown in this thread needs to continue so that Bossland hears our disappointment and potentially makes a change.

For the devs who accept the new terms, they will update their profiles / routines
For the devs who lost their accounts, grow up and buy a new account you lazy fucks
for the devs who lost their accounts and/or still wish to work on their profiles / routines but Bossland is pushing new terms, Bossland needs to back off and respect the original contract

I don't intend to play devil's advocate, but on censorship, Bossland himself has UNLOCKED threads that his staff did lock when they went too easy on the lock button.

So, as far as I'm aware of, that personal attack is not fair.

We can enter the "new terms" with higher percentages for Buddybots matter, since it affects anyone that has bought a single item from the store; but we shouldn't be one-sided and blindfolded, and we (the community) must consider there has to be severe reasons for trying to enforce them. After all, this is a business,ain't it?

With the obvious decline in the usage of Honorbuddy due to multiple reasons long discussed, if Buddybots don't find a good way to fund themselves, we could be facing a much more dire situation, that we certainly don't want to happen.

My personal opinion of him and his team does not constitute a personal attack. If you/they take it as such that's not on me. I simply stated opinion/history that I've witnessed. All good by me, my day isn't even remotely ruined nor am I worried one fucking bit.

Guys, you can arguing here as long as you want and continue saying that Bossland is bad etc. but I actually received refund for discontinued CR that I bought 4m ago from Bossland.

He doesn't care only about money and you shouldn't be angry on him because some1 discontinued paid product.

1) He adjusted his share from sales by 10% (to 60-40 scheme) because there is new law in EU about taxes. And as you can read on Store wiki, every Tax is paid from Bossland profit, not from Devs profit.
2) If developer don't agree with new contract. then ok, he is not forced. But he must still support his product that was already sold before new contract.

Problem is not Bossland, problem are community devs that were not thinking about 18m support period when submitted product to store.

I'm not really sure I get correctly what you meant here. You are implying all com devs are at odds with bossland? I don't think so,it doesn't look like that; but what do I know.

Regarding what Trixiap said, if Bossland refunded you (who created this thread to point out at the problem in the first place) they should openly state a refund will be applied for all those affected.

Refunding only those who create threads about it, or are very "vocal" about it, could be severely misunderstood.

Everyone who created topic in support about discontinued product was replied with "send email to support". So I sent email to support and since my forum name, buddy auth account and email are each different I highly doubt about some better care from support. Just ask them nicely.
