Buddy store and discontinued products before end of 18m period

Hi, as everyone probably find out, many products were discontinued after 13.5. banwave because devs also lost their accounts and many of these products were still in 18m support period. Some of them are still for sale, some of theme are "frozen".

I would like to make list of discontinued products that were still in 18m support period and bring little bit attention to this problem or at least receive some response from Buddy team about this problem

List of discontinued products
  • #DeathKnight by tolraucion (Frozen, but not supported for 18m since release)
  • #Hunter by tolraucion (Frozen, but not supported for 18m since release)
  • #Mage by tolraucion (Frozen, but not supported for 18m since release)
  • #Warrior by tolraucion (Frozen, but not supported for 18m since release)
  • All [Pairidaeza] profiles by Hariberu (Still in store, but without single word from dev since 13.5)
  • GarrisonButler WoD by Deams (Frozen, but not supported for 18m since release) But dev released source code!
  • Item Guard by hackersrage (Still in store, not supported for 18m since release)
  • LootList Plugin by HeisenFiles (Still in store, not supported for 18m since release)
  • Righteous by Exmortem (Frozen, but not supported for 18m since release)
  • Shamanistic - Enhance Raiding by Speks (Frozen, but not supported for 18m since release)
  • Eclipse - Shadow Bot by Twist (Frozen) - Hard to say if it should be supported or not, because dev don't have link to buddy store in support topic and you cant find frozen products in store without link. Based on support topic date release was 11/26/2014 and dev said that he is not sure if he will support it in future

List of discontinued products that are not in "support period" because of WoD release date, but were put in store after launch of 6.0.2 (WoD prepatch) - 14.10.2014
These products are little bit shadier, because were already developed for WoD (developed on 6.0.2) but were introduced shortly before WoD release. I dont know how contract with devs is worded, so can´t say if they should be supported or not.
  • PokeLevel by Inrego (Still in store, released 10/30/2014 (14days before WOD) last update 3/28/2015) - Many unsolved bug reports in support topic
  • Ultimate Herbalism Farmer by Inrego (Still in store, released 11/1/2014 (12 days before WOD) last update 12/4/2014) - probably don't need update, but hard to say without buying it
  • Ultimate Mining Farmer by Inrego (Still in store, released 11/1/2014 (12 days before WOD) last update 3/27/2015) - probably don't need update, but hard to say without buying it
  • AntiCap by Inrego (Still in store, released 11/1/2014 (12 days before WOD) last update 12/4/2014)

List of other suspicious products
  • Many products made by Phelon are in 18m period but without new release for more than 1 month.
There are probably more that I dont know about so feel free to post another product that you owned and was discontinued.

Also there is some new "store contract" and it seems that devs are able to discontinued product without supporting it, but Buddy team didn´t released this info for us.
 
Well, the competition shut down so now the Buddystore is really the only way to go. And as in any monopoly; the customer will suffer....
 
Yes, it is very sad. I had feeling that this will happen when buddy store was launched, but there was 18m support period so it was "OK-ish". But now when there is no guaranteed support for paid product Buddy store is useless. Im sad that ppl are ok with it and no1 is trying to get some explanation.

bossland talked about this, even tho the "old" contract expired developers are still supposed to support their products afaik
if they actually do is another point tho :(
 
This is exactly the situation that I was afraid would happen. I even voiced it in a thread the day the store was released.

Bossland came back and said they'd sue any developer that broke this contract, but this obviously isn't the case.

There is no such thing. Please continue posting the products in here and update your page, so i am updated on the situation and can take further steps.

I appreciate you trying to tell me what my legal obligations are, however my contract with the store ended July 1st. As such I have no obligation to help. Thanks.

Hi everyone,

The support hasn't ended but I admit that it is really slow these days.
I am now at 31 accounts banned in total, most of them now perma-banned, a few for 6 months. After using HB for so many years without even one ban, it feels weird. :D
For now I have one left... leveling it by hand. -_-
The banwave, the new store contract, GarrisonBuddy... many things happened in the last months.
If I wanna be completely honest with you, I begin to be discouraged.

I know that some of you proposed to help, so I decided to release the code of GarrisonButler under a GNU GPL license (check out the license terms before anything else).

If you are part of the lucky ones with still full 100 accounts online, feel free to test the latest code, ask for pull request, submit bugs...

there are no changes to rotations.
also my contract with bossland got canceled by them.
They tried to enforce new rules and Conditions. I did not agree with them, so technically I am no longer working for the store from 1. of this month :-(
I might release the code to the public, under the condition that nobody uses it for commercial reasons, so the community might update it if there any changes arise.
But I am not sure if I am allowed to do so yet. I asked twich in the last months. No response from Bossland yet. :-(
 
Updated first post with other products that I found. Im sorry for some devs, because they are in bad position as I read through topics, but at the end, customers are not one that should suffer.

it's kind of sad to see that the points brought up are actually being proven to have come true in almost every circumstance.

This is exactly why the HB community never should've gone pay-to-play and the HB team should've always encouraged an open, free development field instead of choosing to see dollar signs over the good of the community.

bossland did you say there was no new contract? That you didn't send one out talking about hte increase in revenue cut you would be taking or the price cap on items in the store? Or what did you mean by there is no such thing? Just wondering.
 
I bought the Ultimate PvP Helper long before the buddystore existed then the developer changed it to monthly now it's in the buddy store. My login was no good just by policy change which sucked. Phelon was the developer so just a heads up of my experience with his products. This is a good thread. I think buddy story needs to integrate a feedback system only by verified accounts with a 1-5 star rating that each individual user that owns at least one key from the product in given buddy product buddy store purchase. Would benefit everyone (Bossland, developers and the customers!) and only hurt those that give up on their product.

To be honest with you, paid plugins is a good thing, it generally means better support and much better plugins.

I own quite a few no complaints such as millz bg farmer etc. Gladiator script etc

I wouldn't expect someone to put that much time into something and not be financially compensated at least in some form. It's tough work making some of these botbases.

I absolutely do not mind paying for plugins as long as devs are semi active and give support

But if we don't get that then no point paying.
 
Sorry- this is why Profiles/plugins/crs should have stayed the way they where..

Donations.. and if you donated it got you access to some more tuned code..

I enabled devs to get some cash for there work, but didn't force them into supporting something they no longer wanted to.

It also ment that only devs they had the heart into it would produce work, Unlike now where we have seen devs that are only hear for the money.. don't care about the game/your account or anything in between.
