anyone have a guesstimate on the dps difference between no lock - soft lock - hard lock? Is lock mandatory with a high end pc? I have a 10k setup and hardlock causes me to dip as low as 30fps when raiding.
I know it isnt a "problem" persay, something solveable by a log. Its purely the bot and the lock. Without either I run at roughly 120fps playing on maximum however i use vsync so i stay capped at 60.
That being said, enabling honorbuddy with hardlock on causes my fps to drop dramatically when in combat. I am a mythic raider so dps is certainly a priority but if the loss is miniscule, the tradeoff for visual fidelity may be worth it. Not to mention, the loss in FPS due to inclusion of hardlock may actually damper dps moreso than having it off but having a higher framerate.
Ive googled inside out but I cant really find much info regarding this kind of info. Anyone done any testing?
Before you ask - my CR supports framelocking (i think they were made by the same person actually, furyunleashed ftr). Without honorbuddy on, or without hardlock the framerate stays extremely high, with the aforementioned im looking at half fps if not 25% of my fps in some situations.
To reiterate, percentage wise whats the descrepancy between these 3 variables? (hard/soft/off) and is their anything that can be done to combat the hit? I play at an extremely high resolution, but have an extremely fast chip and 4 gpus, more than enough ram and ssd's in a raid array so its not a question of resources.
I tried with vsync on and off, result is essentially the same. I run with TPS maxxed but have tried it at 60 and 30 with no change. I got nothin else really....
I can provide a log if you really think it will help anything but its a freshly formatted rig, on the newest version of windows, a new hb install... this boils down to the essentials.
Anyways, before i carry on any further.... just trying to make a decision with what/how to run it from this point forward so i can quit second guessing and quit messing w/ it all the time
