Blizzard and PayPal Party Up Against Gold Sellers

Fuking paypal! They have closed 3 of my verified accounts and are holding the money within them for 180 days. I dont get how they work they have no right to hold my money let alone close my accounts STRAIGHT after i put money into them. and its not like the companys im selling are doing anything wrong they pay for what they get and never do call backs so fuk paypal everyone got moneybookers imo at least they treat u better

Are your verified accounts all involved in gold selling? that's messed up ..just imagine some of the big time gold sellers must have $100k+ in their paypals OUCH

I also read paypal is closing gold seller accounts ..but what about gold buyer accounts like the re-sellers ..that would blow if we sell 1m gold and get paid then stupid Paypal puts our account in limbo for 180 days! we're out 1m gold and no moolah :(

I don't get it. This is only directed at gold sellers?
My bet is they get it going they will add gold buyers as well.

I was going to say this was like the ebay and selling diablo items.
But its much worse.
They can go to a site and request your activities and your records are given over with no questions asked.
Who do they think they are the government.
OH WAIT THEY OWN THE GOVERNMENT

Ban for logging into a gold seller site will be next.
You WERE thinking of doing something and bliz has banned you for your protection.

So y'all are getting pissed because you are doing something that is against the rules of the company that runs the game you are playing and then getting caught?

These are *private companies*. The rules and regs of what the US Gov't can and cannot do has no bearing on them. So talking about laws and the gov't is just silly.

Some of you have already suggested the logical and sane option... Use a different vendor for the gold transactions. Bitching about what Blizzard and PayPal is doing won't change anything.

That's like bitching about Blizzard banning your account if you're caught botting...

no their privacy statement says they will NOT share any user or account information.
This is clearly against what people agree to when they sign up.

I want to know what you are purchasing.
Let me get a list from paypal and then sell the informaiton.
No difference.

They won't share any user or account information except in situations that they list. Blizzard could easily fall under one if not a couple of those.

Plus, if Blizzard went to Paypal with a list of email addresses then Paypal didn't share anything from their side. They simply acted upon the information the Blizzard gave them.

Who used the same E-Mails for Paypal and for Blizzard?? So how should Blizzard know who is a "known Goldseller"?

They will run in some legal Problems in EU

You do realize that most people are idiots and probably only have one email address, right?

Rule of thumb, always assume that people are a dumb as you wish they weren't.

Maybe by the fact that websites are advertising that they are selling gold? Maybe when you send in-game chat that they should Paypal at X paypal address.

This has nothing to do with specific wow accounts at all. This is entirely directed at undermining the payment system that major gold sellers can use.

As for the government this has nothing to do with politics. This is a large multi-national company requesting that another large multi-national company help them ***** down on fraud and copyright infringement. Why wouldn't Paypal comply with the requests? Paypal probably deals with as many if not more hacked accounts as a result of bad RMT practices than Blizzard does. The difference is when Paypal deals with a hacked account it is real world money that is involved.

That's why Paypal is complying.

Here we go again Blizzard "Bully Boy" Entertainment, I hope paypal tell them to fuck off. But I think Paypal are shit anyway, moneybookers dont give a rats shit much better company.

I would rather Blizz get more content out for WoW cat has got boring already, and these days I find it lots more fun to Bot.

Is moneybookers basically the same as paypal, but with a different name?

Its another online payment system. Not as big as Paypal is and not as widely used. Sellers like it because it seems to be harder to scam the sellers, but buyers don't like it because its easier for them to get scammed. Also I don't recall who pays the fee on the transaction either. Seller pays with Paypal.

I've used them before, but its not the same company. It would like saying that USBank is the same as Citibank but with a different name.

Non goldsellers rejoice !! :) Pretty soon there will be more herbs/ore for us :P

blizz are being naive again gold selling is a billion $ industry if they block paypal gold sellers are gonna find another way around it the only way blizz can stop gold sellers is by selling gold them self to a lower price

Have you looked at the price of selling gold lately? I think that Blizzard has put quite the hamper on gold selling without selling gold themselves.
