[PAID] BGFarmer - An Advanced Battleground Bot Base

Toon swimming in ocean looking for repair Vendor Stormshield

I was running BGFarmer in the building next to the Honor Gear PvP vendor in Stormshield and when I checked on the toon later he was in the ocean swimming around trying to find a repair vendor. Log attached.

I've tried the group settings and found it to need a bit of work to be in a usable state.

For example when the battle starts leader bot will run to the middle while follower will stay behind for a few seconds up to a minute before deciding what to do and follow the leader.

Some times it does have a better reaction and follows closer and when they are apart from each other than its GG there is no guarantees they will find each other before getting killed, so honestly it would be just easier and better to let them go alone unless you're actually playing one of the accounts yourself and you keep going after the bot to support it or have it easily find you.

During the 5 BG's I let it run together as leader and follower, I've notice only minor amount of times where they would fight together or be together which was mainly at the start which even if the leader starts ahead the follower will definitively go after him even if it takes a bit, once they split up chances of finding it again are very slim unless its a small map or you both died to the same grave yard, after they both get ressed same thing leader goes and follower takes awhile to go after it.

I guess if the follower had a better algo for following the leader or taking decision a bit faster while in group, it doesn't need to be glued to it but at least in range to each other it would work a lot better when in a group.

Thought I'd give this a try on my rogue in ashran and it works about as well as I thought it would. It just runs smack into the hundreds of horde and insta dies then repeats. I'm not sure how it could be made better to be honest, ashran hates rogues.

Millz, I hear you included support for Vitalic in BGFarmer. I'll be trying that soon. A huge thanks for doing so!

Hello, BGFarmer with TuanHA Paladin is not AFK'able for me today. The Paladin runs at the enemy sometimes, it frequently will just run wherever it is pointing. Also, sometimes very slow to pick up enemy presence.
Normally run with TuanHA control move off, temporarily tried on, of course didn't work. Tried setting "keep within X range of target" to 2 instead of default melee 4; no apparent effect. Changed ticks from 60 to 15.
TuanHA did have a recent (today-ish) update. Log attached.
Thank you.

I also tried it with singular, the same poor targeting issue happened. Oh, and I tried a clean install of HB and all components.

Thanks for the log. I'll add a safety check into it when the vendor is far away which will hopefully resolve this. I haven't managed to replicate the problem myself, it's a bit spontaneous.

Hmm it shouldn't be waiting that long. I'll have a look at it and see what's going on.

Yeah I'm not overly pleased with how it works on my rogue. It's not too bad on ranged toons, but melee is way too suicidal at the moment. I'm half tempted to think it would be better to just stand in the middle of our team and don't engage in combat.

Yeah, it works with Vitalic's routine. I use it.

BGFarmer and TuanHA's routine are both fighting to provide movement...

[07:38:39.360 D] [BGFarmer ~ Debug] Need to move -> Target out of range
[07:38:39.364 D] Do Not Move <- TuanHAs routine

You can see from this that in the space of 4 seconds BGFarmer has decided it wants to move, and TuanHA's has stopped it. Either disable TuanHA's movement, or disable BGFarmer's.

This may be messing with trying to pick up targets too, so resolve that issue first and see how you get on.

During combat, occasionally BGFarmer will continue running in the same direction (sometimes off of the hill in AB, off the walkway with the flag in EotS, or just constantly into a wall) uncontrollably to the exclusion of all else.

Looking at the log yields a cryptic NRE stack trace along with the following:

Stopped moving. Reason: BGFarmer -> Stop Moving!
Unable to stop moving after 4 seconds of attempting to stop

Log attached.

I had an idea for a rogue, not sure if it's possible though. Is there a way you could set it to protect your focus target? Here's how I would envision it working: You'd set your focus and the bot would stick close to it, perhaps with a max distance from focus target setting, the bot would only attack targets near your focus. This way you could pick a healer in the back and just hover around them killing anything that gets near, whenever you get too far from your focus the bot would disengage and run back to within range of them. If they leave the road of glory, die, you die, or you don't have a focus the bot would just run up the road of glory until it finds a healer in combat.

Yeah I'm aware of that issue. I've informed the HB devs but they don't have a solution to it. I'm going to try putting in a fairly crude method of forcing the toon to stop moving by sending the keystroke down arrow key into the window and see if that fixes it. Will be playing around with it later to see if I can fix it.

Hmm main issue with this is that;

1) The healer we're sticking to may get suspect if multiple bots start following them.
2) Most combat routines will alter focus targets

For me it happens at least once every 6+ hour session.

Thanks!

Even an inelegant hack like that would bring a lot of relief to us. Thanks for responding so quickly! :)

unable to use this with latest update due to horrible fps

edit - seems to be movement related

I've spent the past few hours playing around with it, and it seems to work. It causes a little lag spike in game, but thankfully it doesn't need to do it every often. It's better than how it is currently anyway. Pushed the update, waiting for approval.

Post a log file please.

Doh! Well the new update has a safety check in for vendoring. Never played around with intercepting the vendor logic (I'm using HB's built in repair run) so will just need to see how it goes. Update is waiting for approval, post a log file if it happens again once the new update is active :)

First of all, great work. I love this botbase and for me its worth every €-Cent.

I have a question regarding the ashran profile. Is it normal that it is just patroling between stormshield an the crossing in the middle?

Best regards

Syl

please PLEASE take care about Ashran!!!!
especially the running lanes....they are terrible!
we must stay (most of the time) in the mass...

Anyone else got the issue where the bot says its going to move to xyz with bgfarmer and then just happily stays where it is, tried multiple routines happens with them all.
Used singlular, Taunha, oracle II. (MW Monk)

Just tested ww, works perfectly, must be a mw issue
