Beta Testers Needed for new Custom Class FightThisWay

@Kamilche - You can export all private messages to a text/xml/etc file for saving/reading, and then clear it out.
You'll be getting tons.

You could also send an email to [email protected] and request a larger inbox, although they don't do this for everyone.
If they really like your work they'll help ya out tho.

  • Feel free to pass the link to friends that are interested in it. It's not secret or anything, I'm just interested in limiting the pool of people I get feedback from to a manageable level until it's done. So don't post the link to it in a public forum yet.
  • Startup tip - turn your scrolllock key off. Only when you're familiar with the custom class, and want to give it a whirl in dungeons, should you turn it on. Notice how you can't force your way in there and do movement while it's running - when FTW has control, it has it good! The only way to 'horn in' and make him turn around or target other stuff while in a party, is turning the scroll lock key on.
  • The tank classes were stress tested, by making sure the bot could single-handedly kill the first pack of mobs in Deepholm (with Millhouse Manastorm). They all passed. None of the DPS classes did. When working up a tank class, I can recommend that fight as an acid test.
  • If you want to see all the HonorBuddy text in the WoW client in addition to the HonorBuddy window, create a third window in WoW by right-clicking on the 'General' tab, and choosing 'Create New Window.' Everything that displays in the HonorBuddy window, will now be displayed in WoW, in that third window. VERY handy!
  • Here's a tech quiz! What do you do, to get FTW ignore singletons, and only pull packs of 3 or more mobs? Hint - it's something in the data file. Will require coding skill to complete! Hint extra bonus round - yes, it's a hack, and needs to be integrated more smoothly.

Hey, I haven't gotten to use this yet. I just got home. I tried it out really quickly against the training dummies in Stormwind. One thing I did notice, and I'm not sure if this will actually happen in a dungeon setting, or even while questing, but with turning the num lock key on and off the toon still did its own movement. I would target a dummy, start a rotation (which looked good by the way) and try to move away from the dummy. The bot would take over and snap it back to the same, or nearest, dummy and continue with rotation. I tried both with the movement key enabled and disabled. Now, like I said, this was only about a 5 minute quick test just to see how it "felt" and that was the only thing that struck me right off the bat. I was using LazyRaider when I tried this out also. Could be something I was doing wrong, could be that the environment was wrong, or whatever else it could be. I'll do more testing as soon as I'm done cooking dinner, eating, and cleaning up. :)

Which class and spec were you? For distance purposes, it will try to move within 5 yards if you're a melee class, and 20 yards if you're a ranged class.

I have had that happen before, though - whenever HonorBuddy starts ignoring my movements or targeting, and the scroll lock key is on, I have to close it and reopen it, for it to work again. I'm stopping and restarting it more often since it's been rewritten, which is unfortunate because it takes nearly 3 minutes to start now. But try that, and let me know if it clears it up for you.
 
Wait - I just had that happen to me 2 times, and both time the info line at the bottom said 'Loading Tiles.' The second time I waited, and when that info line went away, it ran towards the target.

When it happens again, notice whether or not it says 'Loading Tiles' at the bottom of the honorbuddy window. If it does, wait until that message is gone, and see if movement resumes.
 
IS there any way to disable all movement/targeting with this? I'm finding it's doing really stupid stuff like targeting tapped mobs and targeting mobs that are 40 feet away and not agroed while I'm fighting another mob.

Hey, I really apologize. I forgot to attach my log to the post I made earlier. From what I remember, there was no "Loading Tiles" message on the bot. I've attached my log file. I replaced my toon's name with LvL85BloodDK. Class, level, and spec are there. ;)

in the data folder under what ever class you are, read through it should say movement and targeting sections (atleast thats how it was on Frost DK)
 
I would *really* love to try this - I just dont know where to place the file at xD

I just opened up the routines folder and took out Singular and replaced it with your folder :) Ele shammy working great with the Archaeology bot, thanks very much! When im done with the lawn ill watch the rotations and see if I can give you any pointers!

Hit the 'scroll lock' key to disable movement/targeting, again to reenable. On=you control, off=class control.

OK, looked at the log file, and all seems kosher. I would restart HonorBuddy, and if that doesn't help, restart wow then honorbuddy.

There are lines that say 'keep following', which means you did have scroll lock off.
If it was on, it would have said 'movement disabled.'
 
Um, elemental shaman is one of the unimplemented classes - yer getting only 'Lightning Bolt' there. :-D

I don't have a shaman worked up yet - if you work one up before I do, I'd appreciate a link, thanks!
 
I'm a Rogue and would love to give this a quick rinse in PvE and PvP. That is if you require that.

Can't wait for the full release (LOVE ME A ROUTINE!)

Well rogues are one of the fully-specced-out classes, because I love me a ROGUE! Check it out, all should be kosher for you.

I sometimes respond using 'Reply' instead of 'Reply with Quote', so people might not know I responded to them. I will strive to use ''Reply with Quote" from now on, to make it less confusing.

That's only displaying in your window - it's not going out to others.
It's just an alternate way to display text, that lets you stay in game instead of tabbing out to HonorBuddy.
