What do you mean they don't have the offsets and know if Blizzard plans on adding anything to Warden before the patch even comes out so it can be ready for us instantly?

Of course I don't expect that . I was replying to that guys post that said:

this db verison doesn't work with new patch either

He was implying that sometimes db DOES work after patches, and I was correcting him saying that they never work.

Actually you will fine, Most of the Bots work perfectly after a patch, But DB has a build in fail salf, When a new GAME version is detected, It locks it self out to users fro running the bot..

I don't think that's right. Buddy products all have a built in tripwire for any Warden changes, but that isn't why the bot stops working after a patch gets released. When they drop a patch all of the ingame offsets change so the DB client can't interpret the game properly until they are updated.

They can make the bots auto figure out all the offsets automatically for anything other then major patches. But the choose not to do that for a variety of reasons, 1 of them being the security of the products and some for other reasons such as for anti-piracy. So while yes a new patch does totally break the bot and all the offsets, it is by choice and not because they are unable to do it.

If they could automatically update offsets why wouldn't they just do that themselves and then push out the updated version to us? It's not like they would have to include an auto offset updater in the public release right?

Yeah... as shinoowns said... you are pretty wrong. Yes, Array of Bytes scanning does exist and can be used. No, they would not ever put that into the bot itself. When you start the bot and login, all the offsets are sent to it through their servers. They choose to do THAT because of security. They already have all the offsets update automatically for each release, they just don't push it out to us until they are pretty sure that all offsets the automated program found are correct (and when they aren't, fixing the problem), and then checking to make sure that Blizzard hasn't done any tricky stuff with Warden.

If I had to make a guess, they are currently just waiting on the patch to go live on EU servers just like every other buddy bot out there. Maybe they are also working on implementing some new API that isn't quite finished and ready to be pushed out? Who knows.

EDIT: I'm hoping it is the latter. We haven't had very many updates in regards to bounties/rifts. I'm trying to do the best with the plugin I can, but I would love for some more stuff to either be exposed to us, or fixed/implemented. Right now, there is no support for nephelem rifts, nor cursed chest/shrines (to my knowledge).

Its 4AM in Europe generally ATM so that means EU maintenance window starts an hour from now, and continues roughly 6 hours from that. Which would mean EU maintenance finish in early morning hours US time. SO, DB probably be updated early morning tomorrow. IF you are right.

They could easily test it on US/Asia servers. Hopefully it won't take long, I renewed my license yesterday (didn't bot since huge december 2012 ban wave), and when I just bought license servers in US went down.

Hrm, Whilst i wont break the forum rules and name the bot BUT the Competitor bots are now up and running as of 4 hours ago, TBH i would not have even began looking, if we could have at least had some form of communication from a DEV... Have just downloaded a trial and will begin testing it now..

Sorry i really feel the ball has been dropped on this bot since BOA was introduced and professional botters(make a living from botting) have left the scene.

I mean the UI is still shower item level 60-63 drop rates weeks after ROS has gone live, Simple fixes (or just remove it if you cant be bothered updating it).

This is not a QQ about the buddy team as a whole, The updates and commuincation of the other bots such a WOW and POE are great and you can see how good they can be when they want to be.. But i just feel the devs do not care about this bot anymore.

I'd have to agree with this statement, I have been a long time member here and I feel like since there's no profit to be made with botting(RMAH shutting down), the devs are less interested in this game.

There hasn't been any communication from ANY dev regarding the status of an update. Raphus is instant with a WOW bot.

As of this post, 500 people are viewing the Demonbuddy forums, that's more than all other forums combined and multiplies by a factor of 10. They do care about this bot because right now Diablo 3 is hot shit.

People are viewing this post in masses right now because they are looking for an update. Normal viewing is only around 20-30 at a time from my experience. Most people have their profiles and loot rules that they like and dont need to bother with the forum as much anymore. The fact is that less people are buying DB now since there is no money in botting. Less people buying means less money coming in to pay more staff. Smaller crew means longer wait times for updates. In any case, I would rather wait a few days for the release then have them rush it and hundreds of people get banned because they missed something. Warden is not a simple program to go around and the fact that they manage to do so on a daily basis is impressive.
