Banwave 22-11-2016 Discussion

Seems like Bossland lost whoever was good at reverse engineering a year or two back :P

Kind of seems like they've given up playing cat and mouse with Blizzard with the disable tripwire option, suicide botting advisory and the many recent banwaves.

From Ownedcore forum : What about all this talk about Apoc selling out and providing Blizzard honorbuddy coding secrets. Anyone heard that?

Is this why all my 8/9 accounts are banned this year... all on different banhammers

*Not that this name is giving out information, but is someone handing over code? Would be an awnser to meny detections.

if i buy another account under the same ip and don't bot at all will i get banned or suspended ?

Doubt it, there's been one or two reports saying new accounts without the use of HB has been banned but they're in all likelyhood false. I've been banned on my main 6 times, four times for botting and twice for exploits (between vanilla and wod). I also have 2 farming accounts on the same BNet that I've botted extensively on and both of them have been caught in the first WoD banwave and now in the first Legion banwave.

My main is back up and running just fine, did not bot on it (except a few accidental attachments of HB) and it is still safe.

I am sure.

I am sure that Blizzard somehow can detect if you are running bot with your game or not.

Since last banwave, I feel it a good chance to do a test.
So I open 3 accounts, played on same computer and same IP.

First one I bot all the time (Lv110).
2nd one I purely played it without bot (lv40).
3rd one just Lv1, jog-in one time only.

The only one got ban is the 1st one.

So I am sure when you play, the moment you run your bot, Blizzard can detect it right away and put you into next banwave list.

BTW, Tripwire is ON.

Am i dreaming or you are making a comparison between Ferrari's staff recruitment, and Fiat? They are not fighting in the same level, but still, they be able to provide us such a stable support for so many years, be respectfull at the minimum. This is getting me sick, i was banned too but i'm not mad on HB, i'm mad on Blizzard.

You all always remember and will remember the day you can't log on, but do you all remember the countless hours when HB was launched? I think this 3 last years the bot played more than myself. And yeah, after total of 5 years blizzard catch up.

Sometimes you guys should think about the works Bossland is doing. They aren't earning as much as Blizzard's employee, they aren't stable as Blizzard's employee, they doesn't have the staff of Blizzard's Employee, They have family, works, and when they could just send all that mess away and the half part of the community trashtalking, they just keep fighting against blizzard.

Am i the only guy fucking thinking that they are amazing just by the fact they go face legal judgement against blizzard? Physically? Just for this they earned all my respect, its the proof of their investissement.

If i was at their place, its has been long times, i ban you all irrespectfull kids.

You need to get your facts straight boy.Your are mad with blizzard that banned you for cheating its like saying i robed a house but i am mad with the police that caught me.
The have a policy for 3rd party programms you violated them end of story.

Bosshland should haved kept the bot offline till they where sure how its gets flagged but ofc when money is on stake they rushed to go online again without making any changes, and will prolly do the same again after 2 days.

We all aknowledge the risks of boting and you cant blame blizzard for wanting to keep a multi million game clean for the players that actually put effort in it and get crashed by slowpokes like us that want to be the best without moving a pinky.

I tried this by myself, with same result.

This is absolutely right, this should be sticky in some way so the admins / developers can see it

leveled from 100-106, attached 2 days ago for a few minutes and did 101-106 yesterday. fresh vm, fresh ip, no chance to get banned through hardware id. save account on the same ip wasnt banned. i guess the way hb interacts with wow must be changed.

I agree bot should be kept of the shelves now till a fix is found. if folks want to go suicide then let them but as it is the bot is not safe and will be a waste of money to give it to blizzard specially if you do it for comercial reasons. I do think the main problem is the battelgrounds and pvp which generate more complaints about bots dont think blizz even care about the farming much to be honest its the game experience that matters.

I already said that tripwire is just an auth thing back in 2014 and got muted for that. Well, I never used HB again and guess what, I was never banned again in all the 5 (?) waves after.
After Bossland always said "we found out what got us and changed Tripwire" or "there was a misconfig in Tripwire" just to wait for the next ban.
What I see now, they don't even take the efford anymore to tell us wrong stories lol

I am sad for all your losses, but hey, that is how it is: HB is detected. It even looks like that they just C & P the Official Banwave Topic, saying "It is clear to say that Honorbuddy has been detected for last 2 to 3 weeks which bypassed the tripwire system. ", so Bossland know that it is still detected when they said they did changes? I think the last wave was 10 days ago LOL Joke of the year!

Just my 5 cents

In my opinion there are several options:
1. There is a rat on HB team selling out.
2. The code that was given to Blizzard (Stormbuddy) had more than we think and had extensive information how HB avoided being deected.
3. Former HB employ is now working for Blizzard.
4. Blizzard team suddenly got A LOT BETTER.

One thing is sure and i think HB knows it. Getting banned after 10 days of the previous ban wave (we had at least couple of days downtime too) is not a sustainable model.
Trust is being lost, better take down the bot for long it is needed and revamp it form the start. (yes hey did that with HB3, its not working)

Good info man... Just last question: they were on the same Bnet account or on 3 different?

It would be a fair guess that Blizzard can "see" Honorbuddy directly. Hiding behind Tripwire is no longer effective. Clearly in the battle of Cat & Mouse the Cat now has the upper hand. The Mouse (Honorbuddy) needs a complete rethink on how to avoid detection. Nothing less than a fresh start will suffice. The current obfuscation strategy has failed and should be dropped for the time being.

I've been wondering myself the past few days that Blizz may have something scripted to track auto facing that most bots utilize. Its something that all bots have and seeing as this was not an HB only banwave then its something that all the bots have in common. A common denominator and also may cover why people using only combat routines also are getting slammed.

I am not complaining, but we need to see more direct info from Bossland/HB developers. Even "we dunno nothing atm, wait pls" would work.

3 different BNet Account.

And
additional info.

1st account is new.
2nd account is old (with 2 banned wow accounts from last banwave)
3nd account is new.
