Can you elaborate on this without giving anything away, sounds silly if all they needed was an IP range. It wouldnt be hard for me to run the bot, trigger an update and then monitor the tripwire packets.
Surely the anti warden isnt so relaxed?

We do not know and do not have a way to find out how the latest detection took place. However, we do have evidence
that Blizzard found a way to identify IP ranges of Tripwire service thus able to bypass the anti spyware system.
