Sorry to say seen that coming from a mile away..... Should of questioned yourselves when they did a 6 month banwave. HonorBuddy best step up to the plate and say they are detected and Blizzard knows it all. GG guys maybe next time. Blizzard want you gone if they cant win in court they will win in game.

They definitely detect it. I haven't played world of warcraft in 2 months and I got banned today in the wave. They are backdating all the bans aswell. It was fun while it lasted.

I dont think they are back dating, But they sure know when you are using HB. I got my 10 accounts banned in the prior banwave and once they got opened I never botted but played normally on them. (they are not banned) So blizzard knows when you are botting :D

Yeah ever sinse last ban wave, blizzard are able to detect HB some how. I made a trial account to test the MS/ping coz im far from home, it was 400-1000 ms, cant play with that. But I also ran HB for about 2-4 hours on the account, it also got banned. THere must be some detection going on here

I have been botting almost 24/7 since I got my account back from 5/13. I didn't get banned this time

I've been using HB on and off for the last 3-4 weeks, not banned. Only used my routine + enyo on dummies

If they are "detecting" HB, then they are potential doing something illegal and someone (maybe a lawyer) should sue them. It IS in fact illegal for a program to detect another program running on your computer unless you have explicitly said this is something you are okay with.

You got lucky then ..I had no automation other than using a CR and manual movement and banned today

Why should a lawyer sue? You or someone else sues and should get a lawyer :p the lawyer should not sue......

Could you maybe show us that "fact" that it is illegal for a program to detect other programs? HB detects WoW and attaches on to it. So by your "fact"/logic HB is illegal, and all anti virus programs are illegal as well.

It is true that Warden is not allowed to scan outside of WoW, is that what you mean?

I'm saying, if someone who was affected by this ban wave happens to be a lawyer. :)

"Could you maybe show us that "fact" that it is illegal for a program to detect other programs?"

It is called spyware, and this is illegal in the U.S.

"

HB is something you are opening with the intent and knowledge that it is detecting other software. It is illegal for a program to do it without your knowledge or express permission for it to do so. And even if that were true, HB is not a U.S. based software, while Blizzard games are, so they fall under different jurisdictions.

Correct. It doesn't mean they aren't doing it, but if they are, then it is illegal for them to do so.

Also, the way in which antiviruses function is not the same in which spyware/adware collects and sends data. Antiviruses detect installed files, not (in most cases) running processes. They run a deep scan of files on the computer and then cross-reference it against a list of known PUPs. The way adware/spyware functions is reading currently running processes on the computer and then relaying that information to a third party server against the knowledge of the end-user.

I was just talking with a software engineer buddy from school about this. They have to be scanning something outside of the WoW directory. Which to me sounds like some unethical shit. I want to believe the HB devs are smart so maybe the WoW auditing guys had to do some underhanded stuff?

You have to take in consideration as well, this runs in 32bit, which makes it easy to see that 32bit is rarely used unless you bot. Obvious flag for blizzard.

Valid point. hadn't considered that one.

Yeah just because you did not get banned does not mean it is not detected. Like the last banwave they will ban who they want. If you did not get banned you just got lucky, I still have my 10 accounts active and well but stopped botting on them since the last banwave and they are safe. Blizzard is stepping it up and will keep this going until HB decides to do something better.

Seriously guys wow has stepped up their game due to loosing in court so the only way they can win is by hacking into their own system and finding third party software that detects attachments to the game client itself. The only thing i can think of is that when they did have the option to use honor buddy themselves to find how we work they dissected it and found a way to detect it meaning They know who is using it and how they are using it. At first i thought it might just be the pvp but after the first bann wave its clear i didnt use bg or pvp shit at all and still got both my bnet accounts banned. so im saying if HB doesnt step it up this bot is over. And honestly guys do the math have you ever seen a bot run for more then 3 years and not finally be shut down or detected? Hb refused to change there ways to progress with the current times so blizz found a way to detect them every time. Either hb has to be completely redone or time for botting wow is over. Lets be honest as well who the hell gives two craps wow is dieing every month its going and hb has gone to crap ever since wod was released. maybe thats why hb has been doing everything to milk every dollar out of you because they know time is short think about it. As for me this was my last time there comes a time when everyone needs to grow up and face the music this was fun in cata and little in mop when making gold was easy now its just annoying im out for good you all have a blast loosing more accounts im finished loosing mine and playing wow pm me if you want me cd key ill gladly hand it over.

I don't know if this is a flag for Blizzard. I would doubt it. Many subscribers use 32-BIT WoW simply because of hardware limitations. My PC for example has only 4GB of RAM and it is recommended by Blizzard to use 32-BIT WoW with such limitations.
