Well it doesnt show in the logs right(searched few logs and couldnt find it)
? I have seen this few times happen tho! I dont know the exact words, i ll pay attention to it if i c it pass. Some other way to trace it in some log?

if it was something that was in the log i would of gotten it my self
 
Its nice this issue is finally receiving some attention (and thanks!).

Below, you will find threads that discuss this very problem that has existed since late 4xxxx or very early 5xxx releases. Perhaps the information contained therein can help isolate the problem.

The problem is bigger than CCs--it has also been observed in the InteractWith behavior (which uses some 'facing' methods). Laria can confirm this, as she ran into the problem when writing her Goblin profile and tried to do the Librerate the Kaji'mite quest.

There should also be a report in BugTracker that may contain logs. Alas, since BugTracker is still down (going on 2+ months now, geez!), there is no way to point you to the correct report.

Thanks again for giving this a look. Its been a thorn in the side of many users in our Community. The problem is very real, sporadic, and most definitely in HBcore. My recommendation is to chase it as hard as possible as long as Zacharybinx34 can readily reproduce it.

The problem could be due to a lot of hard-to-identify things. Perhaps, it only happens to people with 4-core processors. Or mayhaps, running multiple copies of Honorbuddy out of the same directory. (I'm 99% certain this is the cause of the SQLite 'locking' errors that people occasionally report. I've also a suspicion that this is the cause of Honorbuddy's crashing the WoWclient, but the jury's still out on that cause-effect.). Perhaps, it only happens to those that play Alliance. :D (I jest, but only partially--as this was most definitely the problem of the Night Elves not able to fly back to their corpse while dead bug).

And yes, you're right about the SQLite stuff. However thats not a bug with HB, but a bug with the SQLite library we use. (I've reported the bug a few times, and gotten mixed responses, we'll see what happens with it. Unfortunately, none of us are equipped to fix the bug, as the code is a bit... complex [it basically implements the entire SQLite system])


Going on 13hrs now, and still have not seen the hunter fail to attack a mob. I'll be looking through the AB source later today, to ensure its not missing something silly.


@Zacharybinx34; Sorry to make you the guinea pig again, but when it happens next time, please dump your position, and the mobs position. (You can find both utilities in the Developer Tools window. Settings & Tools -> Dev Tools)

I have a feeling it may be a rounding issue in either our code, or WoW's having to do with the facing angles. (There's a sweet spot where 180 == 0, yea, it doesn't make much sense :P)


EDIT: Oh my, what an epiphany. So, after checking through our CVS to see what we changed between 4xxx and 5xxx, I did notice one glaring change. It had to do with something in WoW actually being broken, and we had to use something different to make up for it. I'll be looking at it later tonight to see if we can go back to the old method. Unfortunately, I have to leave for the next few hours, so I'll let you guys know when I get back.

Alright, it's not doing the Red Text, the locations are different. It happens NUMEROUSLY in Twilight Highlands, either that or it is extremely noticeable because the mobs there are actually tough.

Would the QUEST BEHAVIORS from Kick's profiles mess with this at all? that's the only thing different from the standard installation I have going.
 
Just noticed something else SUPER weird.

The hunter face aggrod a mob, the pet started beating on it, but the Hunter just runs right through it, shows 1 Red text saying something about "you are not facing that mob" then the red text goes away.

This is the weird part.

You know how ALL mobs you are targeting have the red circle around the mob. When this happens I noticed that it is like something is being spammed on it ONLY when the bot is on, because it keeps showing a weird 'outward to inward' red circle at the base of the mob like its pulsing or trying to do something that it can't do.

It's hard to explain.

would the phasing at Dunwald Ruins effect this? Though I have seen it in all the other zones.

It just repeatedly keeps doing the regular circle with the big red one shown above pulsating outwardly to inward to the circle.

I blurred out my tabard because I'm crazy paranoid.

What's interesting is though, this is just ONE of the targeting bugs I have seen.
With the other one, the toon won't even target the enemy mob/mobs beating on it.

Yea the bot is having an issue with one of or multiple of ether of these three things.

Targeting
Moving to
Facing

mobs once it enters combat

You can manually run up to a mob and it will use the CC's attack routine but it can't get to the mobs or turn around to face them.

So it can't move to them or face them. But once it is it uses the CC's attack routine no problem.

My bot won't attack mobs EVER, regardless of anything it wont. There is no sometimes and sometimes not. It never does on any toon with any CC.

Edit: I also wanted to just say, I mean this in no spiting manner. But because of this issue I've gone and bought Pirox. I prefer HB and have used it since day one and even developed for it. But this has been an issue for me for the last 2 months and it makes botting with honor buddy impossible.

IF you guys can fix this issue I'll be back to honor buddy but until then, no thanks.

apoc is working on it, unfortunately its a hard problem to reproduce.

and Zacharybinx34 theres a button called "Edit Post" please use it, instead of double and triple posting.

This might be premature, but I think I figured it out.
Kick's Quest's Behaviors. Removed those, haven't seen the problem since. But why would that affect the archaeology bot?
But I did install the new beta, so it could be either of the two.

I'll let it run some more to verify it is indeed fixed. Hopefully it is!

edit 2:
just noticed it is now spamming "you can't attack that target on killed mob" sometimes when another mob is alive and beating on the bot. It just continues to spam attack the dead target giving only that message.

Its my understanding that Singular v1 is maintained by HBdev, but not really. I believe what HB ships is just an early snapshot of Singular v2, but could easily be wrong about that.

Probably best to ask "when will it be fixed" on the Singular v2 thread. Alas, no one is really in charge of that effort, unless its Apoc. <shrugs>

So you are confirming that you were using the Singular CC? If not, you'll need to post on the appropriate CC thread.

I'm just a Community member like you, and am not privy to inside information. :D

It's been a few days and I've modified FPSware's Hunter CC as per what Gilderoy sent me... I have since run AB 10 hours+ and have only seen minimal problems which I don't think were related to this. (a CTM that was a bit away had my toon ignoring that he was being attacked - finally dismounted and turned to fight - maybe happened twice). When my pet has been attacked, my hunter now attacks it's attacker.

The only issue that I still have with AB is that it's killed me 5+ times in the last 2 days while AFK by making a poor choice for vender or repair in the Outlands. My toon has rep with Aldor so agro's Sryers... but twice he's headed into a Scryer area to try to vendor or repair with predictable results. It was very fortunate for me that I had installed a plugin from this thread: http://www.thebuddyforum.com/honorbuddy-forum/plugins/free/33466-[plugin]-what-killed-me.html (it's not the titled plugin, but a deviation - which auto-logs you if you've died 5 times in 10 minutes. (see post #8 in the thread). I've modified it to 5 deaths in 15 minutes (90000 maxtimer vs 60000).

Thanks all... I can't post what Gilderoy sent me of course since it is for FPSware's CC. But Gilderoy now knows that it appears to have accomplished what he wanted me to test and can send that verification to FPSware. ;)
 
Sorry folks, had some family issues I had to take care of, so I was out of town for the weekend. (Spur of the moment unfortunately)

I'm fairly sure I nailed down the facing issue. We'll see if its resolved in our next release. (I still need to test it more internally to make sure nothing breaks)


As for Singular being "stupid" as far as targeting goes when it body pulls, I'll have to fix HB. Singular just uses the built-in targeting system to determine targets (excluding some sanity check ones, etc). I'll see what I can do about a temp fix in Singular to resolve the issue though.
