I'm not sure there was a single event recently that made Honorbuddy detectable. I've had three accounts banned in the last few months, for doing nothing more than a little questing and some pvp botting, so obviously it was detectable at those time as well. I think they just decide to have a banwave, cheapen up the xpacs and make everyone spend some money every now and then. It's probably more lucrative for them now as well, being as a certain percentage of those re-purchasing the game will probably pre-purchase Legion.

With regard to questing, it's important to mention all of the similarities.
- The order in which quests are picked up
- The order in which objectives are completed
- The order in which they are turned in

Now, the actual questlines may provide little information as all the questlines (for the most part) share a particular order. It's the above that singles us out.

Singular and other free rotations which are probably most popular

Other detection factors may include:
- Actions per minute
- Actions while casting (like chatting or opening the map, etc)
- Stuck actions
- Paths taken to travel

And this is just the minimum I can come up with off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more I hadn't considered. Some have suggested 32-bit WOW as a potential giveaway. It certainly makes it easier for Blizzard to limit scanning to only 32-BIT clients since HB doesn't run on 64-BIT clients.

HB has (indirectly) set us up for failure. Scanning our running processes isn't even a necessity when you consider the available detection methods that aren't illegal.

HAHAHAHA. The server I was in was empty before this XD. Now it must be like a ghost land.

But yes. Thats was I was pointing in the final line of my last post. I actually not thought about the quest lines and time, but it may be something they are looking for too. It makes some sense. After all, no human is "automated", and there could be some of the bots´s big problem: they cant be "sooo random and human".

So... If ever the Buddy blocks the attemps of WoW to scan the RAM, wouldnt you think that the block itself would be considered like a sign of something thats trying to stop the scan by WoW, and then like a proof of bottinging?

After all, its just like if the police comes and knocks your door, and they ask you about a murder, and they notice that you are actively trying to avoid them inspecting your backyard´s garden, as if something is buried there.
That all said from the point of view of someone who is not versed at all in computer science (beyond the common skills for those who grew up in the early 90´s).
Then again, why not to "camouflate" HB with some other kind of program? After all, what other programs hook the game? There should be something out there. Otherwise, Blizzard is not just scanning the hooking, but also the frecuency of the orders being sent to WoW.

Only program that hooks the game i can think of now that isnt totaly illegal must be innerspace or what its called for isboxer multiboxing

Totally. Im with you in every word. Being so efficient (and having many "players" behaving the same way, taking the same exact decisions and paths) is not human, and thats a big weak spot.
Its not necesary to manually monitor that. Putting hidden checkpoint events and having some player crossing them in some range of time may flag the player as a bot. More checkpoints being crossed in the previously estimated time, and that makes more proofs.

Just to say, the greed of selling different questing, grinding, or gathering profiles and not providing them for free makes a big masse of players being all the same. And that makes the ship too heavy, so eventually it sinks, like just now.

Really smart to call this Honorbuddy.exe, I am sure that didn't show up in their log files.......Maybe rename it to something random? Also use polymorph like piroxbot used to.

Correction. Is HonorbuddyWATCHIMBOTTINGRIGHTHERE.exe. And for some reason, it also blinks with rainbow colors in the task manager.

Vannja: Only 5 Creatures are left on my Server (before the Banwave at least between 25 and 30 at this Time), in Goldhain to wait for the usually PVP Partners, but those Partner are running now to kill the Murlocs! Same is in Sturmschild (Levle 90 and above) You can see the Sky now, which was bevore full of flying Creatures. Blizzard can only hope that HB ist working soon, otherwise we will have a boring Santa on this Server.

Just to clarify this, ive botted since cata and not a single ban until now, to be harsh, they fucked up, but hey.. we all fuck up sometimes, when we downloaded HB we AGREED to accept that we are taking the risk of getting banned for using it, i just got a 6 month ban, but do i blame Bossland? NOPE!, they are to blame but i rather blame myself and accept that botting got me banned, so leave bossland alone, these are wounderful developers that have made me enjoy WoW for years and more years to come!! Hang in there bossland

Ñeeeh [sounds like "Nieeeeh]. Its totally ok for me. Im retaking creativity, inspiration, and continuing with forgotten proyects.
Beyond playing MC again, last evening I just sat with my husband and while we drinked tea in the summer sun, I started to solder again the abandoned transistor circuits of my Grey Walter´s turtle prototype. I plan to finish it soon, and present it to my baby daughter. That will be a funny scene for sure.

Its ok with Bossland. Whatever the reason was, tripping-wire or Blizzard just monitoring actions server-side, or memory, or finding Buddy blocking the scan and taking that as proof, its just past.
Now we should find the reason (maybe as hobby. For me, its the end of WoW in my life) and move on, or just move on. And joke. Joke a lot.

Please don't lie - I was banned for 6 months - my honorbuddy is called "Notepad.exe" and the title of the honorbuddy window is also changed to "Notepad" - so scanning windows processes would not help at all.

Then again, they could scan server-side. Thats easier for them, and its not against any law. That fixes 2 problems: the legal problem (they may have learned the lesson with Bossland in the courts), and the problem of finding a way of scaning and bypassing the tripwire.

If you send to the game cordinated instructions like a swiss clock for... idk... 2 hours? Well, thats not human-like. And if you behave the same all the time, choose the same paths, fall in the same errors, and all that, multiplied for the amount of characters doing all the same... Well, then you look "very" suspicious.
