I was reading through some barb threads and came up with a few questions that weren't addressed:
Keep in mind this is for a rend build.
1. Rend:
-Is the life steal nerfed by the 80% in inferno? (just did the math myself and yes.)
-Does it stack? (i'm assuming no)
-What is the base range (not 17yd rune)?
-Does it crit? (again, assuming yes, but you can never be too sure if it ticks or is constant dmg like desecrator)
2. Shields vs. 2h Swords
Since shields don't block molten/arcane/plagued/desecrator, would the extra damage output of a 2h (skorn) for huge dps bonus be better?
It has all the crit dmg you need, so you could focus much more on survivability/str on the rest of the gear.
LoH becomes moot with a two-hander because it's so slow, and if you do enough dps life steal would be worth-while.
Rend is based on weapon damage, not dps, so it would skyrocket.
I just did some math, and at 50k dps (one aps with skorn and no ias), you hit ~1350lps PER monster, which is of course 2700 with berserker on. So on any given champ pack without invuln minions, you can easily hit ~10k lps with NO LIFE STEAL, or double that if you have 9% life steal. Moreover, you can always rend -> run like the ww build, because you'll do 700k damage per monster in that time, so champs should be easy kills.
I thought I had more questions, but I started typing this a few hours ago and forgot about it. Throw in your two cents, please. I was considering using this to bot champ packs in act 3 with giles combat replacer, but I have 100m to spend on the char.
