4 Accounts Banned

Ip banns do exist. It just not the case that they insta-bann account on the same ip as a reported botter. They will trace your ip and view if more accounts are using the same ip, and then case-by-case view the accounts. i got his by the banhammer yesterday. 2 accounts got hit, i managed to get one back, as its an old account, but the other one - thats lost for ever. As such, i see a lotta people having banns lately, and its a soft-banwave. they are just cleaning house with all the reports that have been issued since several weeks/months ago. blizz does this sometimes - seen it a few times, usually around the release of expansions. Ive been hit many, many times, and let me tell you, if you arent botting very minimally, you will eventually get hit. to me, its just another account. i got my main safe - on a differant ip, differant computer, differant internet provider....is that too much security, well - No. But at least i dont have to fear getting my several million gold, 20 lvl 85, twinks, some 30 heirlooms, characters with insane achievments, 100 mounts, dark portal opening trinkets etc etc etc. getting hit...you always run a risk with botting...its russian roulette. get over it, appeal till you get tired of appealing, and bott on...

We were talking about Blizzard not caring about bots or not.

The lawsuit clearly indicates they DO care about bots.
 
And how do they do that? Explain? Warden logs everything so they deffently know that you are using a bot, but not all gets banned for it
 
This is from computerworld: When active, the Warden monitors program and process activity on the host computer, and it sends usage data and some desktop information (known to include at least the header of each open window) back to Blizzard's servers over the Internet.

And what is writed in your bot window??? In mine there is writed: Honorbuddy - Attached to WoW with ID ****

Why do they not ban me, when warden report it to them? You say they are so seriously
 
Can I ask a few questions? When you say not linked you mean all of the following correct?

- They all use a different email (bnet) and password to login to WoW.
- They are all paid via different paypal/game code cards/credit card with ALL different names and address.
- Absolutely none of them inter trade any items at all in ANY amount/shape/form or whatever.

I find it hard to believe anyone does this, but if your serious and this is your income then i would find it important to do so...


EDIT: I routinely have discussions with myself across different accounts. Sounds insane, but when i read shit like this I get paranoid...

Stop posting crap. You can post 1k auctions if u want to, there is no such rule that you cant post any number of items on the AH.
The only unwritten rule about it is to post different items and not stacks of hundreds for the same thing.
The guy said he posted gems and stuff. Are you idiot or what to say that's the reason to get banned? I had 1k+ auctions of my main everyday for years, listing gems and glyphs and never got banned. So please in the future, get your facts straight or stfu

Quite true I used to do 700+ auctions a day on my scribe. Hundreds of stacks of 1 raw material such as obsidium ore may raise some alarms but banning based on amount of auctions is stupid as gold bloggers usually have hundreds and hundreds every day.

IP Bans do exist but they're so rarely used they might aswel be inexistant. They do not do this as households with multiple accounts. Just because 2 out of say 4 accounts are botting does not mean the other 2 are also botting.

Use a process monitor and log everything the wow.exe does and it does nothing at all. It just reads files, reg keys what it's supposed to read. It doesn't scan ram or browser links or whatever.
And it's not a rootkit. First of all Microsoft sues everyone installing a rootkit, like Sony or EA. Because it would be a serious security risk.
Second: Test it yourself. Copy the folder with wow on an external drive and connect it to computer where wow never was installed. Start it just with user rights and you can play. Nothing is modified in the Operating System. You can monitor that as well.
 
I'm curious how its possible to know so much about what Warden does, while its one of the greatest secrets of Blizzard...

I know this article and I'm a software engineer for Windows for almost 15 years. This article is just not true. A rootkit is not detectable by normal windows API functions because it modifies or change them. That's why there are nice tools like Rootkit Revealer where you can exactly check any inconsistencies like Warden or any other rootkit would produce in the OS. You can monitor a system from outside which is my all days work by the way. To hide completly would require a level of sophistication not seen in any rootkit up to date.

Seriously, there is a risk no matter what you do or how you do it. YOU can choose to use HB or not. It is pretty simple.
 
Why doesnt anyoen address what i said?

I guess it's because there is barely anyone who takes the time to setup completely different accounts and ensure they are 100% having nothing to do with one another.


Having same emails, paying names, credit cards, passwords, ip address, similar character naming conventions, same guild affiliation, 20 hours on same character, internet crashes and they both log off at exactly the same time......


I find it hard to believe they can store this information for very long because of the sheer volume of data it would be to mine... but who the hell knows.


I hear special character names are a MUST (true?) to avoid botting reports because the guy won't be ale to spell your name correctly. he may be able to give a description, but by the time he realizes he cant spell your name he'll be wanting to get to whatever it was that he was doing when you pissed him off.....

Yes, all the above are correct, They are on different Bnet accounts, with different names, paid by gamecards not CC. And There is absolutely no trade between, I dont even sign guild rosters between them.
 
Damn impressive. I am sorry for your loss. If your in it for the gold just spread out a little better and if you hate change... do the same thing on different servers at a minimum.
