Why your NPH is not as high as it could be

So basically you blacklisted 40-50% of Pandaria? :)
lol, you would think that, but actually, it's doing a lot better than I thought it would. It's not really about how many herbs you get per cycle of a route, but since herbs re-spawn so quickly in Pandaria, it's about being the first to pick the easy to get herbs (no mobs to slow you down)

Being able to dynamically blacklist nodes based on the presence of a hostile NPC helps A LOT. For example, someone may have just killed the NPC, and if that is the case, you can pick the herb without problem, but if they are not dead, you can spend a lot of time killing the NPC, at which point someone might ninja the herb. This is something that blackspot's built into a profile can not do, at least not with the bot's current logic.

I hope that I'll be able to release the plugin that I'm working on soon.

What I've found to increase my NPH the most is blacklisting (or creating entire blackspot areas) that contain NPCs/Mobs that are too close to the nodes. I've actually written a plugin that auto blacklists nodes where hostile mobs are within X yrds of the node. Fighting is hands down the largest reason for downtime when it comes to farming.

Can you show us a simple example of same route with and without mobs?
 
I want to add to this. All 6 accounts I have lost so far this expansion starting with the bans that went out around thanksgiving have all been from tauren druids running gathering profiles netting approximately 240 nodes per hour.

Since losing all of those accounts, I have fallen back on two which use a death knight and a shaman, both of which are averaging about 150 nodes per hour. Neither has gotten banned in three weeks, while many new bans have gone out each week.

Enough coincidence leads me to believe that there certainly is a correlation between nodes gathered per hour and the chance that your account will get banned upon a review by a game master.

Then please explain to me why all 11 of my Tauren druids are still going now for the last 10 months. If you bot stupid 24/7 you will get the ban hammer. Dont speculate to look for ways to cover your ass when your being retarded.
 
oh i forgot one...

make sure you have "Don't Ninja Nodes" checkboxed. for three reasons...

first, if they are already there, you prolly wont get it faster than them anyways, so skipping the node is faster than trying to grab it, and failing most of the time.

second, it makes your bot less of a dick.

third, people are less likely to report your bot, because: your bot is less of a dick.

also, after making sure i was following all the rules in this thrread, i went from around 180-200NPH to:

Another great example. also Ninja Nodes is more likely to put you in a bot train.
 
so i am doing all of this correctly and i am still only pulling in 100 nodes an hour to other ppl 200 nodes an hour is there anything else i could do to up my nph? i am on a low pop server idk if that effects it

just to be sure, do you use 310% mount, Mist-Piercing Goggles? and class?
 
i have 310 i have mist piercing goggles and i am a hunter with a 481 i lvl ohh and i have the gloves that make herbing faster
 
This is on my DK does the presence make any difference now as im blood spec but cant get it to stay in unholy not sure if that still makes a difference and i also have googles and lvl 25 guild :-/

hunter. how often when you land to farm do you get into a fight? if the answer is more than 1 out of every 5-10 nodes, that is your problem.

things to check:

1. is your pet on passive? it should be, if you are using a good hunter cc, it wont matter, the cc will send pet in anyways if you are forced into combat. (i personally recommend FPSware's Multiplicity)

2. is your pull distance set to something between 1-5? you dont want to aggro mobs unless they aggro you first. i put my pull distance to 1 personally.

3. your cc settings. make sure you have all the settings for cds and whatnot to allow a full on nuke on any mob at all, e.g. Stampede, murder of crows, lynx rush, blink, trinkets, potions, etc. most cc's, including multiplicity, come preset with alot of those for "only on adds" or "only on bosses", which makes total sense in a dungeon or raid or questing environment, where you are constantly fighting... but for farming, you wanna nuke the bejeesus out of anything that looks at you funny, so you can mount up and farm again.

i am not terribly familiar with dks, so i cant answer the presence part of your question. but some of the same things that i mentioned in my previous post apply to you as well...

pull distance

cc settings (which might be where you would fix the presence problem, if it turns out that it is a problem.)

pet settings, if the pet persists from node to node.

What area(s) are you farming?
Are you farming both Herbs and Mines?
Are you comparing your numbers with others who have the same set-up?

310% flying, goggles, and gloves make no difference if the profile isn't very good ;)
 
Usually if your getting really low results it's because your getting stuck along the way. Usually it's a combat stuck issue where it's mobs fighting each other.

you're not fixing blackspots / shit nodes
you're getting into combat too often
