Why your NPH is not as high as it could be

This deserves a bump. Anyone who feels they have more ideas or thoughts on how to get more NPH feel free to chime in. I'll be adding anything good to the main post list.

yeah, there are 2 versions in that thread... and the second one doesnt work for me either... I am reposting the one that i use, that DOES work.

Get some decent gear for your farmer. Your bot will inevitably will have to kill mobs to get to the node.
If you running around with green shitty gear at ilvl 420ish, its gonna take him like 15 secs to kill a mob.
Buying crafter gear from the AH at ilvl 450 can boost your killing time by about 7 secs.
It will also minimize deaths if it happens to pull a shit load of mobs.

Every time that i check my bots 9/10 times they are in combat fighting 1-2 mobs to get the node.

Don't be cheap, crafter AH gear shouldn't be a problem to get and if you have a scriber there is no excuse not to have the epic staff in 20 days exactly.
Or any other ilvl 450+ weapon from crafting.


Less time fighting == more NPH.


I hope this is good enough reason to be added at first page Gatherit :)
 
Yes. I forgot about this one! I always buy the highest level crafted PVP gear for all of my farm toons.
 
Another bump for those still asking how to raise their NPH. Should just sticky this ;)

There is some evidence that "too high" of a NPH can result in a auto-ban from new WoWserver-side detection code.​

Although there is no way to absolutely know this happens, recent evidence indicates it is happening to some (even non-botters). So, boost your NPH with caution.

I want to add to this. All 6 accounts I have lost so far this expansion starting with the bans that went out around thanksgiving have all been from tauren druids running gathering profiles netting approximately 240 nodes per hour.

Since losing all of those accounts, I have fallen back on two which use a death knight and a shaman, both of which are averaging about 150 nodes per hour. Neither has gotten banned in three weeks, while many new bans have gone out each week.

Enough coincidence leads me to believe that there certainly is a correlation between nodes gathered per hour and the chance that your account will get banned upon a review by a game master.

Did you get banned before or after the nerf?
Atm my druids are ~210 nph and I haven't had a ban so far

All were post nerf starting around thanksgiving I lost 1 druid, the following week I lost 2 more druids, and the week after that lost the last three.

240 nph before the nerf? that isnt really high , shouldnt be ban for that. did you bot 24/7+
 
no, no, you misunderstand. I was getting 240 post nerf on the druids. Pre nerf, around 480. But it was with a far different profile.
 
Which profiles you use for this high nph? Or which profile you could prefer to me?....im a beginner and do have arround just 125 nph...

What I've found to increase my NPH the most is blacklisting (or creating entire blackspot areas) that contain NPCs/Mobs that are too close to the nodes. I've actually written a plugin that auto blacklists nodes where hostile mobs are within X yrds of the node. Fighting is hands down the largest reason for downtime when it comes to farming.

So basically you blacklisted 40-50% of Pandaria? :)
