Honor Buddy - Wiki Profiles Project (1-80 Leveling, Questing, and more)

Wired, your inane opposition to this wiki project is absolutely blowing my mind.

There are a lot of people who see why this idea has a lot of potential to be helpful, and all you do is try to tear it apart before it even gets a chance to get off the ground.

What are you so afraid of? It's almost as if you are fighting it just for the sake of fighting it. Are you just bored over there or something?

Unless you have something valuable to contribute, as far as I'm concerned, this debate is over.

First off being on a public domain. Blizzard can access it at any time and see where the profiles go without fear of legal ramifications. This, the way it is currently done WILL most likely cause more bans (I'd host a free one just to see where it goes, behind a private domain, with a legal advisory to keep blizzard out, free of charge. I don't want it on a publicly modifiable database so I don't have to support 10,000 different versions.

I'm so excited to see other people starting to participate in this wiki! We have begun work on the Horde 1-60 Grinding. And slowly more profiles are trickling in :cool:

Throwing wiki at something doesn't make it better, and I see nothing different between this and the website except for the ones on the wiki will be deprecated in time.

The benefit of a wiki is that everyone can edit a single profile at once. It's a much faster method of creating content then a forum is.
 
only reason nobody on this forum is doing it is because we all have our own personal profiles that we don't wish to share lol XD
 
Idea seems a bit.. messy ??

Couldnt this just be done in a sub forum etc . "open profiles" or something..

Hell all someone has to do currently is post a profile and write "please feel free to edit and post the udated profile in your reply".
 
It is a great idea but could you change the password and have people ask you for it PM if they want to join and not have everyone on the forum see it even blizzard as i think the patrol these forums hehe ;)

You're missing the point of a wiki. When you have multiple versions of the same profile floating around, the fragmentation begins to build and slows the entire process down horribly.
 
I will take the hard nose side.. This project needs to officially STOPPED by hb dev team... To many people here are mooches and will end up taking all or partial profiles off site.. that will be butchered and or put on a site that blizz can look though.... who WILL take notes and then the mass bannings will commence.

This is not a threat this is a promise...

You people do realize that blizzard keeps track of everything... The cd key you bought was allocated to a SPECIFIC box... witch was allocated to a SPECIFIC company and store... this is just the extreme amount of crap they keep track of.


Shut this offsite blasphemy down or we will all suffer.

What's to stop blizz from just buying a key from HB and downloading profiles from the forums? Your arguments make no sense. Also, cite your sources.
 
I really like your idea and concept. If you believe in it, don't let anyone's cumulative opinions here kill the project.
