When do the performance issues begin?

Currently using 1.6.3.4 because it's the only thing that will actually run stable on my computer, Just wondering why the 1.7x series is so crippled by performance issues and from what is seems nothing is being done to fix it, if I am wrong just say so, I would really like to hear that it is actively being worked on being 1.6.3.4 is starting to become outdated in regards to new profiles that require things that only 1.7x+ provide.

I guess I got caught up in a small torrent of seething rage, but is there a 1.7x version that does not have these performance issues?

I am using 1.7.1.2 at the moment without any performance issue

This is something I just don't understand, and, honestly the community isn't really providing any concrete evidence. I would like to fix this, but, I personally can't find anything wrong.

I ran 1.6.3.4v45 side by side with my current developer branch, on the same profile with the same plugins on nearly identical characters. I found that 1.6.3.4 consumed about 25% more CPU cycles, more RAM, and had fewer TPS than 1.7.1.8, and a load of more stucks and problems.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

If people were really serious about performance problems, rather than mildly complaining and providing anecdotal evidence, they would post helpful artifacts in order to actually help me or others diagnose and possibly fix the problem:

  • Zip and attach a full log file
  • Which profile are they using
  • What other plugins are they using
  • What character class and build
  • A full description of when and where
  • A screenshot or even FRAPS of this behavior
  • Their system build, including if they're using ISBoxer, VMWare, or any background programs (is this a dedicated botting machine, or are you playing SC2 in the background?) Hardware specs including CPU type and speed, graphics card(s), drive types and speed, etc. Are you running it on a junky old laptop or a true gaming rig?

I'll start...
I have a Core i7 2600k OC'd to 4.3Ghz, 16GB RAM, 2x GTX580 in SLI, 2x RAID0 10k RPM Velociraptors, a 20GB SSD intel SLC cache, use ISBoxer, and get 60 FPS (lowest settings, no fancy d3prefs) and 20+ TPS with 4 bots. I also usually have 2-3 VS2012's open, chrome, etc.

I find it lags when using the DungeonExplorer (btw - not Trinity related), and anytime the DB navigation server needs to generate a long-ish path. I'd love to fix these two, but, it's not something I have control over.

Ok, Your turn!

My suggestion is:

1) Benchmark DB functions Deep sea food ...
2) Change completely the actor class management. The way it is since 1.6.3.4 is really dirty.
3) Targeting needs to be updated as well.

Like the refactoring is pretty good, but still it makes no logical sense. For example RefreshDiaObjects and RefreshDiaObject etc ..

If it was to refactor it, I would have done something like Combat (Object, Targeting, Avoidance) + Loot (Item, Misc) + Filters (Settings, Misc) and finish with 1 class per actor.

This helped me a bit Bitsum Software, maybe it can help aswell.

I don't know shit and don't think that it is a matter for most of the users.

Im using 1.7.1.2 and get this:
10vms on 3770k@4500 - 80-90% cpu
5vms on 3750k@4500 - 70-80% cpu

switching to 1.7.1.7/8:
9vms on 3770k@4500 - 90-99% cpu
5vms on 3750k@4500 - 95-99% cpu

trinity is the only plugin.

Which profile(s) do you run?

Do you find that Demonbuddy.exe is consuming more cpu, or Diablo 3?

hmmm my 2 cents.

I used to see some performance issues in 1.7.1.5-1.7.1.7 but never really checked it.

today I've installed unified 0.45 on 4 bots and I had 45-60% usage of cpu's. I run few hours and I had 850-1000 items/h

Now I switched to New trinity 1.7.1.8

and I have the same CPU usage...maybe even a little bit lower... and 950-1100 items/h on all bots...

In Random Areas there is some stuttering when bot enters map or is finding new patch, I saw it on both versions, maybe 1.7.1.8 a little bit more, but I'm not sure, hard to say...

generally I will stick with new version for now, cause I like some of the new features...

i5 3570k 4.4mhz 80% usage
asrock z77 extreme4 lga 1155
gskill 32gb ddr3 1600 pc312800
super clocked 660ti 2gb (18% usage)
240g kingston hyper-x ssd (500/500 read/write) dont know how to tell usage/stress in game but have ran tests and comes out to mfg specs.
windows 7 pro

Max i can seem to get with trinity 1.7.1.7 + yar + isboxer running trinity tag profiles is 8 clients at 9tps and fps limited to 15. if i go higher than 8 i start getting bad freezing and fps drops to 7-8 vs molten / arcane / etc.

ive tried everything i can think of and still cant push more than 8 clients. i even went back to 1.6.3.4 trinity and same result but maybe i didnt get all the settings deleted and it carried over. i ordered an i7 3770k and will have it this week to test out the hyper threading with isboxer. hopefully that will help out. if not, ill have to continue trouble shooting until i find out what my bottleneck is.

the last tests (1.7.1.8) were with Tinnkaizer and 1.7.1.7 with ciggarc act3. both the same.
I dont know which exe is consuming more...

Running VMWare, ISBoxer, or do you have some other way of starting multiple bots?

Also, none of the settings code between 1.7.x and 1.6.3.4 is compatible (so it's impossible to "carry over")

Im currently using isboxer , trinity 1.7.1.8 + yar + trinity tag profiles from 1 d3 directory and 4 db directories (3key per).

I was going to test in a few mins using 8+ d3 directories to see if the games are fighting over the files trying to load them. I'm not real sure and have tried everything ive read / thought of.

I was worried to try the new trinity because people been saying it lags... I tried it and it's working perfectly for me and my barb. It actually seems much faster

Perhaps you could try playing with the TPS enable, disable, change settings etc

for those who have no problems with new version - try to start 8x bots in i5 ...
Dont make theese crappy posts " my 2 bots are fine"

Plugin works fine for me but it doesnt work with my fav trinity tag profile atm i guess. it does lots of dumb things and loops alot.

on the performance side if anyone is wondering...

created multiple d3 directories ... didnt help. ran w/o yar ... didnt help.

I can cut the tps down to 5 and it helps a good bit, but i feel that is counterproductive and would rather just upgrade comp than run dumber bots.

ive tried everything i can think of and for me at least i5 caps at 8 clients at 8tps and 15 fps. i cant get any more out of it.

i7 will be here wed if im not banned.

Ok, Your turn!

Everything is PERFECT, as you said above on OP. DungeonExplorerLag, I have actually finally been able to somewhat solve that problem, keeping jumps lower with more economic settings for the explorer. I test all on dual cores so they are wimpy can't handle inefficient dungeon code.

There are some interesting things that Giles Community does, but off the top of my head, I can't think of one serious enough to mention. 1.6 trin, stuck a lot just like you say, and 1.7 is fantastically way better.

not sure if this is relevant, my diablo 3 was lagging, so i put my serious face on and put all my diablos on max process priority. db went from running moderately okay, still some lag, all the way to robot mode, one action per 5 seconds. now i know this is my cpu and its capabilities, and i am sure you are really frustrated rrix, but i am not sure how to fix this, and i am sure many others are not sure also. maybe you could create a form for us that we could fill out to the best of our ability with everything you need to address the issue. im only stating this because i myself have seen a lot of people asking about this. right now DB is taking up 33% of my resources. not sure if this is high or low. It is also very difficult to guage the difference in problems from people with 500 dollar computers all the way to 2500+ because the 500 dollar guy complains about lag, and then all of the expensive computer people bash him down and the problem just disapears because the 500 dollar guy gave up trying to get help. What i think would help is the form idea so you can get more of a perspective on it.
i think this is a better idea than just asking for info and waiting for people to post in all kinds of different threads. there can be one main thread to addressing this issue.if this is already done, then damn, ive been missing out. haha. gl
my idea
post a sticky thread W/ poll
does DB take up a ton of resources
does it not. blah blah
or maybe
does DB make you lag
does it not blah blah

and then the form they can fill out with specs and bots etc?
