Ban Theories and Ban Waves

My 5/8 and then 1/7 were all boxed copies

this recent 1/7 though has me thinking because that bot only botted 8-12 hours a day (was experimenting in HC) and was only a few weeks old

I got my only copy banned. I have access to another D3, but not going to bot on it, as it's my nephews and he's off in the military atm. luckily I threw over 50 mill before it as I was just starting to bot more often. I did read the ToS and it states in there they have a 3rd party program that sends Blizz a copy of everything running in your RAM. Is it possible to spoof this or if you can route your net through another computer, will it copy that computers RAM instead?

no since it's the d3 app on the local machine that does (if it does) the reading and, it's the same machine that sends the data through whatever means

flagged accounts does not exist, I bought the account of a friend, monk plvl16 legit and stated bot five days before the patch and was banned. I was using Tinnkaiser run, botting 12-18h
simple as that
I dont believe bad luck in this case, I reached plvl49 RMAH and not used, then believe in detection
ps: sorry for my bad english

Don't panic.

If you see over 1000 ban reports in a one day period, you are looking at a banwave. Less than that, its bad luck. Please do not make posts with "banwave" in the title. If there is an issue, our tripwire will have killed all connected bots and we will have posted what information we have.

There are thousands of Demonbuddy users and tens of millions of Diablo players so the single biggest factor in getting banned is random bad luck. Please keep that in mind when you see people say that they bot 24/7 for weeks at a time and have no bans. They might be lucky. Please also keep it in mind when you see someone say they botted 10 minutes and got banned. They might have been unlucky. Other factors like being reported, or having used hacks, or abused the RMAH may be present but the single biggest thing that causes a ban is random bad luck.

We do want people to report bans and if you have been banned, we are sorry for your loss. Please use this form: http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonb...9422-form-demonbuddy-suspension-ban-form.html

Feel free to post theories about bans and ideas on avoiding bans in this thread. Please keep the conversation civil; trolling will not be tolerated.

i like this secure bits --- If there is an issue, our tripwire will have killed all connected bots

Why is Hawker closing any thread where somebody made a theory on DB causing the ban? Anything to hide?
mute is coming for me <--

Because this theory thread is already open and there is no need to open new threads to clutter the forums.

alright I give you this one, however no formal communication yet from Devs and people are asking for it.

Could it be reloggers affecting the detection of botting ? I think that might be it .

negative my buddy had 1/1 accounts banned small fish no relogger

If I worked for blizzard, it would be simple to make a script and detect to see who town portals on the same spot over and over for hundreds of times after clearing a map. Humans wouldn't do that, we would be to dumb to determine where we town portal at =)

I've kinda looked at the last 2 mass banwaves, and it seems to happen approx 1 month before the quarterly end of their fiscal reports. So if the next banwave gets put forth at the end of feb/beginning of march..this may ring true?

I only started botting again about 10 days before the ban wave. Hadn't botted since MOP release. Was botting act 3 champs about 10 hours a day. and got hit by the ban. One thing I noticed was that demonbuddy over rides in game MP level. For 3 days I was botting MP3 it was to easy and I kept bumping the in game MP up till it was on 10 and it was still easy. It was then that I looked at demon buddy settings and saw the Monster power slider was set to 0. Using the slider the game got harder. Is it possible that blizz can detect the clients that are not playing against the in-game monster power level, but are playing against the demon buddy MP level. Not sure I have worded that in a way that is understandable.

sorry, i don't want to read 30 pages, but is there anyone working on the ban theory that mostly accounts got banned which have been reported from other users?

I mean, i got 1/5 banned and i have no clue why. It's not the oldest and not the newest account, it's not a account with a different profile and all the other 4 acc's got same botting style.

I can only assume it was to only account which has been reported by the (very) few people i got in my "recent players" list.

I don't think that is it. My 2 newest just got banned, and they were both in MP0, and DB was set on MP0.

I think they are about to release info on PVP, and are trying to clear out botters and drive up the economy beforehand.

Or, they are pissed at the owners of DB (they are in court right now, right?), and are doing everything they can to target it right now. From what I heard, the other bots haven't been hit as hard.

I'm sure it's a system scan , but they can't do it frequent tho . I turned off my bots before maintainence.

it only happend to recent d3 patch 1.06 1.06a etc . before this i am safe 0/8 . after patch . first wave 12/12 and last night . . all my 8/8 banned ! i believe there is some detection for bot during this 1.06 patch .

SUGGEST LOCK DOWN THE FORUM. FORUM JUST FOR PAID USER .
