Ban Theories and Ban Waves

I noticed that if you don't have a primary skill assigned (i.e. demon hunter M6), the bot will attack with a 'dry fire' as if you were using a resource spender while out of resource, however it happens even with full resources. I can't mimic this when I play without the bot, so I doubt blizz is able to track this for banning, but just in case does anyone know how to turn that off?

Yes this seems weird! is it possible to do it without the bot ????

wonder when the next "wave" ban will be, over one month since last time

I looked through all the key bindings and it is not possible to do without the bot. As a software engineer, if I was looking for a way to detect botting I would look at the attack used and compare it to the resource, assuming all of that information is done server side, which I believe is true. Interested to hear if anyone can confirm/deny this as a danger.

Long time since there have been a "wave" ban now :) should be one right around the corner as soon as Blizzard have more free hands after dealing with the 2.1 patch...

I doubt that very much, Blizz only did ban waves back when there was money involved with AH/RMAH, with everything account bound and gold being so easy to get, really no point to put any effort in a ban wave (I am sure a lot of legit players get banned in the process, they get tons of emails, tickets to fix) not really worth the effort, if you want to farm 10b in gold, go ahead, not like you can profit from it, im sure they are more worried about bugs/patches/features at this point.

It's very logical, just no point to ban ppl at this moment.

Now, on 6/2/2015 a real Ban Wave has happened. Second one this size, together with the 13th December 2012 banwave. Less reports can be seen , but I think the % of users is similar.
Most people using the bot seems to have been affected. Let's wait to see what can be told about it by the Buddy staff, maybe some new methods were implemented, or it could be them individually checking ( untargeteable imp comes to mind as an example) and flagging accounts for months.

it doesnt matter if demonbuddy has a trip wire or not i was not using the bot got banned everyone will be banned sooner or later who uses bots just a matter of time it doesnt matter whether you stop or what they know its just goin down the list :(

also i think its bread crumbs the bot leaves some sort of trace i use to use the bot at random never do the same thing over n over never safe no matter what u do so gl but your time will come

there is no avoiding only time they are getting better at tracing db is not getting better at hiding
