Cross Realm Zones will ruin the game & hurt botting

they are sharing more zones than that. i know wetlands is, along with winterspring i believe. Twilight highlands. elwynn forest. and not sure on any others

Is an old MoP beta post from may, pretty sure now that it's on live for 5.0 its across most zones. For example I've seen people complaining about too many people camping in deepholm and storm peaks for rares now. Also like I said in the OP, it's much more frustrating farming netherwing rep in shadowmoon valley because of cross realm.

I bot but I also farm stuff myself... It's actualy very frustrating to read about a good farm spot, fly there, see 15 other people there because of cross realm zones, where there would be 0 or just a few on my own realm there.

It's really fucked up for all the non-botters aswel farming mining/herbalism.. Now there's more bots to go steal all your nodes, like competition wasn't high enough on high pop realms already o.o and low pop realms, well now their AH is gonna die even more, most likely helping those really low pop realms dying even faster.

Guild Wars 2 overflow system works so much better, you at least have somewhat of a choice there, and can wait to spawn on your own realms zone..

Well, just play the AH then? If 15 ppl are farming a spot you also want to farm, save yourself the trouble. The mats will end up on AH anyway, at low prices. Buy them and put them on for slightly more. Why farm if others already save you all that botting work

There is plenty of reasons for me to farm. I cba paying 20+ gold per stack of silk cloth,so I go to a good farmspot only to see people from other realms camping the respawn spots, none of them from my realm.. And I really can't be arsed playing the AH my faction on my realm is one of the biggest most active in the world, there's too many fighting on the AH... I don't need gold really, I find it fun to do a little farming every now and then.. but this change has screwed many good, specific farm spots :/

Maybe you should read the op instead of going off on a tangent. I specifically referred to netherwing rep farm which is what I'm doing right now (while the bot is down) I still play the game fairly regularly myself, I just use the bot for some side cash. This will also affect normal players like myself greatly.

I think this game needs to be a bit more social, i really enjoyed leveling my warrior in classic and having people to join you for quests helping you out if you cant find something and so on.
Hell, that one hunter among all the kids ended up being my companion into late bc, we leveled together, were in the same guild, and had lots of fun.
Nowadays leveling is quite diffrent, you run through deserted places.
I think the idea was good
It just needs a little more tuning. Maybe sharing less players that are above the zones intended level.
Im sure they will think of something.

Cross realm AH, that would ruin all economies overnight. Nobody would be able to make any amount of money, ur auctions would be undercut as fast as you could put them up. Even blizz isn't dumb enough to try that one. The only cross realm AH I could see them trying someday is a real-money AH which would be out from pure greed of getting 15% on every transaction.

I agree with what you are saying it would make things awkward for botting purposes though if it was more social, especially when afk, being a guild master I find a lot of people in my guild are very bot aware when some one does not respond back when asked something, then would most likely be reported unfortunately, it is normally those guys that complain about botting I weed out fast ;-) I am having to make up tones of excuses, as people tend to watch my every move, tell them I am going for dinner but I am farming still I just say I have no life, I eat while I play It is more simple if they do not socialize from my botting experience as a gm that is.

If you just repost the raw mats you you run the risk of getting banned for exploiting the economy. You'd be much better off crafting stuff and posting that.

Ridiculous. Buying low and reselling higher is a very basic, common and well known strategy taught in a gazillion blog posts and every gold guide. Legit in game addons have coding just to help you do it en masse. Its not an exploit. Its good business.

It wont apply to high pop zones so farming with GB wont be hurt as the zones for maxlvl herbs/ores are usually populated so they wont share these.
But farming pets and lowlevel stuff may get really painfull in the future.

Both of you are right somewhat. It seems like it doesn't matter how populated overall your server is (I'm on a high-full pop realm and we still get x-realm) It basically just looks at how many people are in a certain zone at that time and it will add people from x-realm accordingly, regardless of overall pop. Obviously if your on a high-full pop realm it won't add anyone to new MoP zones as they will be packed already.

If you buy low and sell the mat high, and keep that mat at a high price by continually buying the the undercuts and reposting for your price, that is what blizzard considers to be exploiting the economy. I know non botters have been banned for this practice. If you read the eula there are lots of things that will get you banned that have nothing to do with botting.
