With the upcoming release of 1.0.4, a few things can be seen right off the bat:
  • Barbarians have received the most focus from this patch, and are seeing numerous buffs. Whirlwind+Tornado and the Devil's Anvil builds will become significantly buffed to their already invincible state. Meaning that we can venture into act 3 and 4 botting with very little fear and gear changes.
  • Witch Doctors have also received quite a bit of attention, mostly with familiars. The new familiars are capiable of surviving act 3/4 elites and champions, meaning glass cannon WD could be viable with the right gear. Along with the familiar updates, their animations are being significantly sped up! Meaning that their once slow paced gameplay will turn into the face-paced total annihilation that monks are so famous for.
  • Monks haven't really gotten much love this patch, besides a few minor skill changes, their mostly the same.
  • DH's have had quite a few interesting skill updates, mostly on the DPS side along with several defensive skills.
  • Wizard's are receiving the largest nerf in this patch :( There goes my invincible wizard!

Also, regarding the Paragon System, we can make these assumptions:
  • Paragon is like Prestiging, yes the final outcome is amazing, but unfortunately it will take a long time for anyone (botter or legit) to actually achieve the maximum Paragon level.
  • MF/GF will not become useless! Yes, we will require less and less GF/MF gear as we progress in Paragon levels, but until then we will still need our gear if we want to find the new juicy legendaries.

But, with all of these changes, is it time for ourselves to make a change? Ask yourself these questions:
  • With the new legendaries, will prices be reasonable enough to effectively purchase/use them? Or will we need to find our own and turn around and sell them?
  • With the new elite changes, are we ready to stop focusing on the barbarian and monk as our only inferno-able classes?
  • Is the new Paragon System viable enough for "Suicide" botters? Or only for long term?
  • Will the new legendaries create a rise in gold prices? Should we stop focusing on items, and more on gold? Or use items for the overall profit in the long run?
  • Will the difficulty change between normal and elites effect our bots? Will we be forced to refocus our current builds? Or can we just go full out DPS?

Only time will tell....

This thread is my opinion on the 1.0.4 patch, and being such I would love to see your input! Is it time for us to dust off our DH's? Or is now the time to give the WD a go?

*I will keep updating this thread with my ideas as they come to me! ;)*

they need a really good gold sink in D3 to help bring back value of gold a bit...

Gold will be like toliet paper in 1.04 ;)

0.25 USD/M in RMAH, which means external sites will have to undercut that to compete. Gold will probably become like the Indonesia currency, where you need millions to buy a bottle of coke. Item value will remain untouched as ever though.

In short, goodbye to gold botting.

This is not true. They are allowing you to post and sell much more max gold through the RMAH. The .25 cent per 100k is not changing. This just allows you to post 1 billion gold for sale.

Blizzard is not stupid enough to allow super inflation. If they drop the 25 cent per 100k item prices will soar so high that no one can get anything without buying cheap gold stock. There is no way that blizzard is lowering the .25 cent min. It's most likely there as a trap for gold botters to try and cash out. Blizzard doesn't need to sell more gold to make a percent profit they are making plenty more from their 1 dollar fee and paypal fee for items. Most of the gold buying/selling is through the black market.

as far as classes I cannot express how pissed I am about the DH. Why kill the procs without giving a solution like the wiz that can still use high crit gear effectively. I'm going try a Monk and Barb, but I'm still thinking Barb is king because Monk still has some issues.

You're incorrect.
"Patch 1.0.4 will allow you to sell a stack of 1,000,000 gold for as low as $.25 (if that's your thing). "

I wonder why they worded it so terribly when they showed it before. This seems like a terrible idea. This game is about to keel over

Terrible idea for gold botters you mean ;)

It makes no difference for people whom are willing to spend on the RMAH though, as prices for those items are likely to be stable (excluding the influence new legendaries will bring to the market)

Oo, yeah, nasty for gold farmers/sellers:

"We've increased the maximum stack size of gold per listing from 100,000 to 1,000,000. The minimum listing price will remain at $0.25 per stack."

I've been lucky on EU, and actually have been able to sell gold (20% success rate, many lots placed in the 36 hour period), but that patch will put an end to that. Oh well, luckily I am just about ready to go all out on champion farming.

I've just finished the first version of my Party/Group plugin, which forms a party at the start of a new game. All works very well on short runs (up to 5 mins), but those champ runs could cause problems, as if a party member leaves for whatever reason (stuck), the party will be without that member until the next game is created.
I think I'll get the party leader to check for absent members every couple of minutes, then if any are missing to re-invite. This will be okay for short runs, but not for champ runs, perhaps set up some sort of flag (ShortRunTime), and if that is set to false I'll have the leader leave and start a new game, if the flag is true, the leader will just re-invite... hmm, sounds like a plan.... on it!!!

I know someone else here is also making a similar plugin ([Plugin] MyBuddy.Local a.k.a Follow Me), one that will be released to the community, and judging by what they have done, and plan to do, it will be a LOT better than mine. Mine throws out an invite to the 1st 4 people on the friends list (based on hash), so they need to be people you want in the group, and each uses its own profile. The party members do not follow anyone, they run their own profile, thus able to interact with anything on route, including instance portals. This can result in the party members being separated, at least for a while.

If anyone is interested in trying my party plugin out, just say, and I'll put it up for others to try out.

I guess you've missed the line, when they fixed the anvil bug and the build is not viable anymore -_-

•We've increased the maximum stack size of gold per listing from 100,000 to 1,000,000. The minimum listing price will remain at $0.25 per stack.

Pls learn to read: WILL REMAIN

The blue post @ the thread is retardet.

Incorrect, Blue posts already stated that what it is doing is to allow you to chane the price of gold UNDER .25 per 100k. It is also incorrect to assume that .25 per million is the new price. Some people might be willing to go that low, however, the intent was to make it where you can sell in increments larger then ?$ per 100k. Example:

Before you could only post 100K for .25 per sale.

Now i can post 500k, sell it for anywhere between $.25 to $250.00 for the full 500k. If i decided to sell the 500k for $.50, it would be $.10 per 100k instead of the $.25 per 100k. Pretty simple. Now if only crafting items can have the same thing done.

I hope you guys are starting to realize that the economy in ARPGs isn't about currency. It's about items. (The same as it was in Diablo, D2, and pretty much all other ARPGs) With infinite ways to produce gold, there will be inflation, and people will stop using gold as currency. (Instead it'll turn into "someone gimme 2bil gold for repairs" like it did in D2)

I suggest you guys start either holding on to those seriously crazy items you find, or cash out on your gold and hope for the best. Personally, I have no interest in gold selling, I make far more off items. (Selling a single item for $1k is far better than selling 2bil for $500)

The market is there, it's just not your usual market that most botters here are used to.

I wanna know where you can sell items for $1,000? Last I saw on the AH 250$ was max.
