This was taken less than 10 minutes ago. 12/15 topics are about bans, and this has been the trend the last week or so. No banwave? You decide....

trouble in paradise.webp

It's not really a banwave, more like massive banning :D if it would be banwave i guess all would be hit in 1 run :]

I think in few hours threads will pop to 100+ >.<

To me, large wholesale bans over a short period of time=banwave.

I just got hit 2/2 but main is fine with plenty of items and gold.

Hide yo wives, hide yo kids cause blizzard is banning everyone around here

It's not just demonbuddy btw. Autoit and hellbuddy users have been banned as well.

Haven't we seen this message like last week and 2 weeks ago?

its not a banwave, or everyone would of been banned and thats not the case.

I understand the text book definition of "ban wave". But in all honesty, can you look around the DB forums and say with all sincerity that nothing is going on in terms of the massive amounts of bans?

because of your definition of a ban wave means everyone gets banned ? I feel you and rest of the devs here are just ignoring the obvious. The ban forum makes it pretty obvious a shit ton of your customers are losing money and you just use the you were unlucky line.

What's pissing me off is that they are blaming their users. Apparently all the devs or staff that have replied to posts are spewing the same crap, "it's your fault"

It is our fault we bought a bot program that is profile dependent that makes the issue worse because it cannot do random dungeons. Anyone can write profiles sure but you're limited to what you can write because the bot cannot do random dungeons so you're stuck to static areas with predictable behavior.

exactly. but expect this to change. Who knows how long though.

Sarkoth was insanely profitable; people botted it 24/7 on multiple accounts; they banned those people. I'm sorry for your loss and I do not blame you at all.

We have been working on random terrain for 2 weeks now. We are not stopping but that fact must tell you its not easy. Meanwhile we still have several 1000 online botting right now. There are bans but this is not a banwave.

There will always be that ONE area that has a higher rate of gold. Sarkoth, crypt, core. The fact is people will find whats the best and use it.

Indeed. Back when Burning Crusade was new, I lost a ton of toons farming the Death's Door tunnel and later farming the Black Temple steps. In D3, there was just one spot that was ideal for farming and it is of course easy to see server side that something has done 500k gph there for days at a time.

I got hit by today's ban :(

All 6 accounts; half of them were fresh accounts that I had just leveled with questing by hand/combat bot with follow. >_>

that 500gph was way too tasty :D Even without items, the account payed for it's self in just over two days. I guess I'll play it safe this time around :P

I wonder if it's safe to change the email on my paypals and transfer them over to the new accounts? Or if using the same phone number would matter :S

I got banned because I botted, I knew the risk and it paid off for me. I made my profit and am okay with the outcome. I just disagree with all the posts declining any sort of responsibility from the other devs, putting the blame on your customers is not a proper approach. Calling us lazy for not making our own profiles or saying we used the bot wrong is redundant. You have over 200+ threads of people being banned, with most of those threads OPs having more than 1 acc, so it does multiply the losses.

I honestly really appreciate your work and I have a great deal of respect for you Hawker, you are one of the most logical and well thought out people in this crazy forum world and it's great to have you respond and have as a dev. I know Im a newer member here, but I from everything I've read in the past few months you are Lways taking the initiative and responsibility to help other and fix issues, and I just wish other staff and devs took your approach.
