Increase loadingspeed of Diablo 3 (for sarkoth)

Erm I will do this but looking at it logically.. even if you don't see it, it's still being rendered so it shouldn't matter just because you drag a window over it. But thanks for suggestion.

Yep it is, I can still see it on the small windows 7 aero preview on the taskbar. But I do notice a big difference on the stress of my graphic card. whenever d3 is on top, the fan blows like crazy, and it's so loud that I have to use whatever window to cover the d3 one to make it quiet

Is it known if blizzard will limit the amount of games one can create? Or is that just bullshit?

^ really want to know this aswell, even if i cant really imagine

You can pick up SSD drives now 60gigs for like 59$ if you live in USA. 120 gigs for like 129$

But if your on the cheap end and have a mechanical harddrive, Go download this defragger, "Ultimate Defragger" Google how to use it or Youtube it, It has a feature to write all of your selected files such as all of your "Diablo III's exes" and mpq files to the OUTERRIM of the harddrive which is where the needle first seeks. This will increase load times by a tad.

Take as a grain of salt, nothing is ever set in stone.....Buzzard will do what they want when they want.

Blue poster Belfaire explains Blizzard's stance on multiboxing

Multiboxing, the process of one person playing multiple characters on multiple accounts at one time, usually by the use of multiple computers (thus the term) and macros that can be activated on all accounts by the push of a single button, has most recently seen coverage here on WoW with our 2-man Karazhan report. The act of multiboxing is one that has been the subject of some debates, mostly centered around whether or not it violates the EULA. Those in favor of multiboxing can breathe easier today, as Blizzard poster Belfaire has stated in no uncertain terms that Blizzard has no problem with the practice in a post on the customer service forums.

In short, he says that the advantages of multiboxing are no different than the advantages offered by normal grouping. Since multiboxers can be damaged, feared and CC'd as easily as separate people playing separate accounts, and since they can't do anything the same amount of characters couldn't do when played by different people, there is no reason to consider it an unfair advantage in PvP or PvE. He also answers quite a few specific questions posed by thread starter and multiboxer Velath that clarify why Blizzard accepts Multiboxing and does not consider it an exploit or an unfair advantage.

For example, he clarifies that using one keyboard to trigger macros on multiple accounts is not exploiting, but using that same keyboard to make a Fireball spell go off whenever it is availible is. Switching between windows or boxes to issue commands? Not exploitation. Using a bot program to make those windows run automatically? Exploit. In short, just like with people running one account, automation of a character via a third party program is Illegal. Setting up shortcuts to use macros or using gaming mice or keyboards (such as those in Adam Holisky's recent series of articles)is legal, and something that has always been fine with Blizzard no matter how many accounts the person in question is playing.

I certainly applaud this stance by Blizzard, even if I don't quite see myself doing the whole multiple rig setup. Admittedly, I am somewhat biased, as back in my Everquest days, I was about the only member of my small guild that didn't multibox, and was always greatly appreciative when someone when bring out their tank and healer multibox team so we didn't have to worry about who was going to fill those roles. Either way, it looks like Multiboxing is here to stay. So the next time you curse that 5-box Elemental Shaman arena team that just Chain Lightning'd you into next week, just remember that you can't call them illegal. However, you can still thank your lucky stars that they weren't Restoration Druids.

Unfortunately I can't afford to buy anything new over 40-45 euro. I am trying this Ultimate Defragger but im not sure how to deframent it so diablo 3 comes at the OUTERRIM of the harddrive.

I added diablo 3 folder in settings though maybe that will do the trick. I have not found a video explaining the Rim thingy.

1. I tried defragment defragmented files which was done in 15 min and diablo 3 files still in most inner rim.
2. Tried consolidate. Got error, didnt specify anything about it.
3. Am trying most recent right now... 5 hours left.

Get more RAM. Get 64 bit windows . Cache your shit to RAM. Windows does it by default, or you can use something like RAMDisk by DataRAM and choose the files to cache.

No need for SSD, unless you are really concerned about the first load...

I only have 3.25 GB windows 7 32 BIT im on a limited motherboard chipset which would have 4GB otherwise.

Also you might be able to load it into ram but who tells the game that required data is already in ram? I think if it's not told it will just load game from HD while having the files in ram because it hasn't got the referral through I think.

ClientData.MPQ seems to be most used if I have to guess? it's 2.25 GB. Which means I probably could RAMDISK it, and still have 1GB for OS. I also have windows XP dualboot which uses less ram. (EDIT nevermind still have to load the game itself in ram LOL forgot that... so don'thave enough ram)

ALso btw I have back and foreground FPS at 60. This is best right? best not to limit it?

Well in Diablo's case you'd have to RAMDisk the whole app. So that won't work for you if you can't upgrade. But if you could upgrade you'd be able to leave it up to Windows anyway.

The only thing I can suggest is to exit out of ALL non essential applications, more RAM available = more caching space!

Yo I have figured out how to do a defrag based on One map only, (i just exluded everything else)

One question It moves files to the outter rim but not totally outter. (there are still 3 levels behind it, so close but not on the edge of the rim)

Do you know how to make it totally on the outter rim? thank you.
