Does this affect your GPH much? I have a regular (slow) IDE harddisk where I load it from with an E6400 @ 2.6 ghz AMD HD 6570 2 GB + 3.25 GB RAM. I shut down ALL processes, turn game to lowest, window mode smallest as possible window res of 1024x768.

My game quitting takes like +-5 seconds (from town to mainmenu)
My game starting takes like +- 5-6 seconds (from mainmenu to checkpoint)

Would this be considered slow?

Wouldn't it be faster if we can somehow speed this process up somehow, I don't know maybe cache some stuff by copying it into ram or some kinda smart method?

yeah, it will be increase your GPH, because you can do more runs per hour.

SSD is the magic word here.

where are you from?

get a crucial m4 ssd, very good quality per price, its cheap!

I can't this pc only has SATA 150. Most SSD's are 300/600.

While it's backwards compatible it seems like a waste to me. (though I have another pc with sata 600 I dont use it for botting) + I wouldn't want to spend more then 45 euro's and I'd prefer 64 GB atleast, not sure if 32 GB is enough for Operating system + diablo 3.

Im from the Netherlands.

Also I was kind of asking more what you're guys loading times are... Im curious to see if Im really that slow??

You won't have to worry about it as much when Blzzard makes it so there's a cap on the number of games you can create in a certain time frame.

Well they may.. or may never..

OCZ Agility 3 60GB for 60 euro available here hmm not sure if it's any good.

Still like to get your loading time people!

yea SSD is the way to go. My games load in about 1s - 1.5s? Its pretty fast but i dont time it with a stop watch

go 800x600 in your Diablo account...turn down all settings in your account related to resolution shadows etc

Won't help much im afraid, If I have the desktop res @ 1680x1050 the windows is @ smallest 1/3 of the screen

When I switch to 1024x768 the windows is @ smallest 2/3 of the screen. Which makes me believe that @ 1680 the game already runs 1024x768.

Also I can't scroll websites much @ 800 x600 lol. Also if you read I already have game @ lowest.

Do you have antivirus? They can slow down your computer

How long since your last hard drive format c: ?

Oh lowest = 800x600? Thanks for clarification. Well your all set then, good luck!

Thanks for suggestion! I have done that, not sure if it helps.

But isn't there something else I can do to optimise loading speed? Like preloading certain gamefiles or something.

I got a normal 7200 IDE HDD.
When clicked on resume game it is loaded between the 2nd and 3rd red diamond (or whatever it is in the loading screen). Which is like 1-1,5s without a SSD

Yeah keep diablo on a SSD or if you have loads of ram download the game fully, copy the important mpq's onto the a ramdisk using fx ImDisk, make a backup folder and move the mpq's from the diablo folder into that one then create symlinks linking the files on the ramdisk to the Diablo Folder ;)

- here is a guide explaining it a little better than i bother to :)

Maximize DB window over D3 window so that your graphic card doesnt have to stress at all, and I assume it leads to faster load.

Erm I will do this but looking at it logically.. even if you don't see it, it's still being rendered so it shouldn't matter just because you drag a window over it. But thanks for suggestion.
