I guess since Diablo 3 is not an esports game it falls into a different category.
We are the red headed step child. lol
And not a pay by month game either. They invest where the money and success have been. WoW came out in 2004. Expansions released in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016. Even though its peak of 12 million users dropped to 5 million by the end of last year, its still a massively popular game. I would like to see the number of people who actively play D3 in comparison.
I bet they would have killed Diablo 3 years ago had it not been one if their first flagship game series. More than the red headed stepchild, we are like the trophy of times past.
Ironically Diablo is still the best action RPG series ever made. If they would have just created more endgame rather than repetitive rifting and paragon levels...
Blizzard needs to stop thinking that tranmogs, wings, pennants, pets, portrait frames and other visual content are a replacement for real meta.
If they want to let us dwindle to maintenance mode, they should do more than "fix the dead spots" in rifts. They should go back to epic density.
They should give damage buffs to all sets to bring them to the same level to allow more builds. Ulianas set suffers because exploding palm + seven sided strike takes too long. It would be worth the time if the damage from exploding palm was more significant. Same with mystic ally inna's. Damage buff to equal the clear times of a similarly geared LTK monk.
They should lower monster dps and raise monster HP to combat the use of ZDPS characters. THere should be a benefit to running 4 DPS characters, this would solve most of that problem.
Instead of "Challenge Rifts" they should have "Greater Dungeons." Where you have an endless dungeon that increases difficulty in each level based on clear time (the same way that Greater Rift Levels are unlocked). Each level should have it's own timer. The first time you take a fatal shot, instead of dying, it kills all enemies and spawns a rift guardian for you to kill. The idea is to go as far as you can without dying.
...etc, etc, etc. There are thousands of suggestions that would massively improve the game, but it will never happen for D3.
