Whats the average life of an account of yours running 24/7? Seems like it'd be hard to make it worth while getting banned before your account could really even reach a high enough level to farm decent stuff.

I can probably post an /age but that would be a bad idea. It's been about a year I would say.
Keep in mind, I also run with custom stuff, so that could be it as well.

A year , botting 24/7. OKAY.
To the guy who posted , it was mentioned in a lot of threads that you need a proxy/vpn for each bot. So best thing you can do is re-install windows on both computers and use a VPN (private) for both computers. Also Limiting botting to 10-12 h/day will get you prob 1 month or more of play.
You think reinstalling windows changes the mac/hwid? get your facts straight.
There's a lot more behind dbf's farm you couldnt imagine, we all get hit pretty much but it's not bulkbans, it's isolated bans. I don't run 24/7 because the RIG is making noise/heat to actually drive me insane, but if Icould I would. Vary builds, enhance your farm and everything is fine. Each client his own ip/mac, that's all you need. I'm running for now few months with the same accounts, flawlessly.

well hwid can be changed with sandboxie/VM . And mac it's quite easy to do. Anyway thanks for the constructive response . I m limiting my bots to max 12h with no bans. Guess I need to start testing stuff and push them further.

There is no such thing as hwid, because one PC setups may have various serial numbers while others doesn't. ProcessorID is not unique. I already said that somewhere. Not all computers have BIOS serial number.
The only number that may be unique and related to hardware is MAC or HDD serial number, but the second one is also not guaranteed to be unique. But combining these values and making hash of them MAY get unique value for every computer.
That's why you want to use VM's, because MAC and HDD ID is unique per machine, making the hash different for every account.
But it's up to everyones paranoia level. I'd say better not get banned at all than get banned on few accounts less

It's ok tonyx, just because he can't do it, he assume no one else can. And i've shown you the /age once before, it was literally 24/7 except for downtimes/upgrading software. But meh, don't spill any beans.

@dbf I'm not hating, I m just saying that 100% you ain't farming 24/7. You probably have the bot setup so it takes brakes and idles and stuff.So in the end it stays in the game 24h but the bot doesn't grind all that time.

you guys realize that farming 24/7 can also mean farm 1 hour per day per bot/instance/account. just 24times 7days per week, right? ^^

i'm farming 24/7 for few months now without any brakes,idles and stuff.Dbf is probably 24/7 without those too.
So do you guys have a recommended profile or routine or something? Do you guys run multiple different instances somehow, are you guys heavily monitoring while you guys run 24/7 and making changes to instances every few hours? I guess I just don't understand how I can get banned after 7 days and you guys are ok running 24/7 for a year. Or do you guys recommend I read something on this site for programming to get my own custom routine rolling. I'm really not that great at programming, but I can spend some time at it and get better. Thanks for your replies and help!!
They've got tons of custom stuff that makes them looking more human-like. That's why very big Chinese botters have got private bot's, they are far less likely to be detected.

Very big chinese, do not bot, they rent people to actually play the game.
The botters are usually Westerners lol, selling the virtual items to the chinese, which sells back to westerners.
There are farms od people, yes but there are also groups of botters that makes private bots
Has anybody been banned for just running a single bot account? I play very casually, and I'm not looking to run multiple bots at once. I'd like to just simply have my one character farm for me while I'm at work/sleeping, then play on my own other times. Most of the ban reports I see seem to be hitting people with lots of accounts. I'm basically trying to talk myself into botting, but don't want to lose my account.

if you are concerned about losing your account, don't do it. It's generally assumed a case of 'when' not 'if' it will get hit. Just like the 'safe' Honorbuddy botters who didn't get hit for years. Then one day they all got hit, lost their main accounts etc (albeit only for 6 months in most cases, but I don't see GGG being as lenient as Blizz).
Unless you have the skills/exp to make your own stuff, you will get caught eventually; even then, I'm sure DBF and Tony know their accts will get banned at some point.
I'm in your situation, casual botter who bots to supplement their main acct. I have a second 'bot' account that does my farming for me, and one which never bots. On my 'bot' acct I do a fair bit of personal play, such as the start of new leagues or making sure I get masters leveled to make it appear more human. Now and then I feed stuff from it to my main. I'm sure I will lose at least the farming bot sooner or later, something will screw up and it'll get flagged. When that happens I'm hoping main doesn't get hit, but if it does then ce la vie.
Problem is once you are hit, if you haven't been running VPN's/VM's etc your system is tracked. Can basically write off being able to bot again until you do invest in those things (purely observation, I might be wrong).
Yeah, that seems to be the consensus - if you aren't willing to lose it, don't do it. I'm not in a big hurry to lose it, lol, but it WOULD suck. That said, if the cases of people running a single account that bots 2/3rds of the day being banned are neglible, I think I would take the chance. I'm mostly just looking for anecdotal accounts of it happening or not happening to a large extent. My hope was that they wouldn't really worry about one dude using a single bot to make his late game playtime more rewarding. It's not like I'd be selling currency to China and making cash.
