EZUpdater - The Plugin Updater

I opened my bot today and ezupdater did a bunch of things and told me 1 or more plugin installed and told me to restart. After restarting, my bot stopped working and when I checked plugins, both quest and trinity are gone, Iv been reading this thread and cant see to find a solution, Iv tried the troubleshoot by deleting plugins and reusing ezupdater, same thing happened, no quest and trinity.

EZupdate remove Trinity and QuestTools.

Fresh install of Demontools dont help either...

All this started when I tried to install the new version of Demontools.

Unistalled the old one and deleted the folder...

I'm having the same issue. Started bot up today and EZUpdater updated a few things, then recommended a restart. After restarting, trinity and quest tools were missing from the plugins. I have attempted doing a complete clean install, but as soon as EZupdate is run it will do the same thing again. Will try a few more things and update if I can get it working.


So I went and used this ability called reading... found out how to fix that issue
Uninstall demonbuddy. Then go grab the beta version Here. Then download ezupdater and throw it in the plugins folder and copy over the sharpsvn like it says to. run demonbuddy, enable quest tools and trinity along with ezupdater and it should go and update everything. Should be good to go then.

sadly, it is still crashing on me

EDIT: Fixed! Renaming demonbuddy.exe made it crash as per prev post. Probably a beta thing? cause before I switched to beta, I can rename it just fine.

Open it in notepad or notepad++ if you have it, scroll down nearly to the buttom and you will find something like this --

Hey NL,

Nope the thing is which i failed to explain was, that with this new method all non plugins such as fx. the bounties, will be put into a folder in "yourDBfolder", named Profiles :)
there all the goodies are stored for that ;)

all the time i add the infos into my B Main Folder > Settings > EZUpdater > EZUpdater.xml and start the bot,
the new edit stuff is gone, do i cant edit the EZUpdater.xml? :confused:
 
How 2 avoid failure 40's!

OK so a lot of the same thing seems to be happening to people, here is a few quick ways to avoid the most common ones!​

OK so you're getting compiler errors etc. when launching DB after update...

First off are you running the latest beta of Demonbuddy? -- http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonbuddy-forum/151424-beta-demonbuddy-beta-builds.html [at this moment build: 391]
If not it might be the reason your having problems "according to some users at least it have been reported that it will only work with the beta demonbuddy.


After you have ensured your are running latest beta, try what's written below if you're still having problems.

  1. Delete your EZUpdaterstorage folder located in "YourDBfolder"
    -
  2. Delete all plugins in the plugins folder located in "YourDBfolder\Plugins\"
    -
  3. Delete the folder named EZUpdater located in "YourDBfolder\Settings\"
    -
  4. And just to be sure delete the sharpsvn.dll in "YourDBfolder"
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Now we need to get them plugins again, so please follow the stuff written below.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  5. Download EZUpdater and follow the installation instructions as written by rrrix -- http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonb...028-ezupdater-plugin-updater.html#post1421325

  6. Now the only plugin you should have present in your Plugin folder is EZUpdater, if that's not the case please reread the whole thing or just punch yourself hard in the face with something hard.

  7. If you passed nr. 6 without any failure 40, please do continue and -- > Start DB and let it update, if it doesn't start to update... check the plugin part of DB and make sure EZUpdater is enabled.

  8. Restart once the updating has completed and you are asked to restart.

If you still are having problems, well I really don't know what to say i tested out downloading the DB Beta this morning, deleted those plugins that followed and only put in the newest EZupdater, copied the sharpsvn.dll to root.
Only thing i also copied over was the following settings files from my old DB, which is stored at this location "yourdbfolder\settings" --

GlobalSettings.xml
TVars.xml
And my Battletag folder

After that i ran DB it updated, i restarted and everything was fine.

<SourceDirectory>trunk\Rifter</SourceDirectory> is not used here, since it's a profile.

Was DB running when you tried to edit the file?
If not this is how i have added mine.

So i downloaded the db beta as of today 18/4 1340 CET time, installed it as usual, deleted everything in the plugins folder of my new DB folder, Downloaded and unzipped Ezupdater, put it in the plugins folder of my new DB folder, copied that DLL file, start demonbuddy and enable ezupdater plugin, it does not work i tried 10 times now:

'C:\Spel' (format 31).
You need to get a newer Subversion client. For more details, see

if you did what date is the file you copied over? [sharpsvn.dll]

Hey :) this is not my Plugin, rrrix is the owner and dev of it, i've only been trying to help out since i'd rather have rrrix focusing on getting trinity as polished as possible.
Seeing most of the errors are something we in fact can solve ourselves, I am sure that rrrix will update the EZUpdater faq and troubleshooting to the main post when he have time :)
 
EZUpdater gets rid of my Trinity plugin for some reason. It's still in the folders, but in DB it's completely gone.. Any idea why it's doing this? I did a clean install.
 
Hey guys! Im having some really annoying issues with EZupdater right now and im hoping some kind soul could help me out! [EZUpdater] Invalid working copy for Trinity at XXXXXXXXXXXXX/demonbuddy/ and i really have no idea what to do, i have tried botherics methods but i just dont get it to work properly. So by all that is holy i ask you as a fellow human (or bot) to help me out!

Pretty sure that the people experiencing that EZU does that, haven't been updating for a long time to quote what rrrix, wrote quite a few pages back though.

This was posted 12.04.2014 -- I really havent experienced any problems after updating to the latest.

Things is that it's not presented at the first post of the thread, which makes people update w/o having deleted the settings file, corrupting their trinity and other plugins in the process of updating.

Point being: they will need to fix it sooner or later if they want to use EZU, disabling it is just postponing the work ^^
