Hello all
Yes we all know the botting has behavior issues and it would take a busload of dev's, programmers and coders a century to make it all look perfectly human, if it ever happened at all. I know, I have spent 20+ years working with AI for anything from military battlefield and weapons modification/automation to autopilots.

What you ask for and want sounds easy but is far more difficult than you can imagine and there are countless hours put into finding/fixing the smallest bug in what we have now before they could even attempt to add more to the routine and possible add more bugs and complications. Instead of complaining the more useful thing to do is report whats wrong and include a log if the problem is visible there. Just because it runs great on the machine where it is created does not mean it will run perfectly on my or your machine. So that's our part of making it better. We tell the Dev's whats going on and then allow them to address it and wait PATIENTLY because nothing happens without time, trial and error. If you think this field is easy, it's not (You can jump in here at any time Aveitas)

Ok..... So now I will get down off my soap box and state the obvious. We all bot to get the credit it can create when we do not have the time to get online, that's obviouss.
We all know that botting has it quirks, odd behavior and chance of getting caught, that's obvious.
We all know it's the odd movement and behavior of a bot that brings all the risk of getting caught, that's obvious.

So eliminate the movement, use arty... That is my approach, I only use tanks when I am present and watching the game to catch it before it goes really bad. Anyone here ever watched tier 2 arty players? They do some really stupid stuff and in general are pretty useless. They don't hide... they play them like TD's, they miss all the time they are constantly changing between targets and get killed letting some scout drive right up and kill them because they are looking across the map in zoom mode instead of looking at minimap also. In all these respects TL2 is a better player by far, because noob arty players suck and the bot is better it fits right in every last time and the noobs look like bots.

With that being said I run 2 setups. My first is unattended and consists of only tier 2 arty from all nations. No matter if playing by hand or by bot you double your hits and kills by using a gun rammer, a gun layer and a camo net with a 100% crew. It's worth the money to have all these things. You may think higher level stuff makes more money but it shoots slower, the shells cost much more, the repairs cost much more and frankly most tier 2 & 3 players don't learn to fear arty yet and sit in the open. Easy pickings :)

Now my second setup which I only run when I am present in case anybody comments I can answer and kill their bot concerns consists of the french premium arty and the russian su-26. Both aim faster than their counterparts and fire much faster. The reticule shrinks fast on the french Le FH and stays small all the time on the 26 because it's turrented. They both have great range, they both hit hard and they make me alot of money. I have all the arty up through tier 8 and the rest just don't do well enough to run.

It is not unusual for arty to setup right where they spawn and since the TL2 arty does not move all looks natural. However in the higher tiers arty always hides so thats why I run my second setup attended. I move them to a bush and then let the bot work.

The MOST important aspect is for you to turn off the option to face the hull towards the enemy. If not when it fires and until it reloads it will constantly twitch and swing left and right deciding which enemy to face and it is a DEAD GIVEAWAY something is not right, it just looks very odd. Also when it is turned off it will lock, fire and remain facing that way unless the target is lost which looks very normal. As arty people we tend to stick with and finish a target.

I hope this helps a bit and I check in here often, If I can help just ask.

Cheers!

Good post. Regarding the "fixing bugs" section, most of them we can find by running the bot countless hours (I usually run one whenever I'm at my PC to see if it shows any bugs). Having said that, we do indeed rely on your input for reporting bugs back to us and providing us with enough information - mostly through logs, but explaining when it happened and how it happened etc in your posts helps a lot too - to address these bugs. One of the big merits for us for moving to TankLeader 2 is that the code base is actually a lot more extensible and makes a hell of a lot more sense than the previous version of TankLeader; that was one of the big reasons we decided to re-do it and move over. Fixing bugs is easier this way, as well as adding new features.

Then again, we strife to deliver bug-free software since that's what you're paying for - no one wants to lose their accounts because there's some stupid bug in the bot that makes your tank camp spawn for hours on end.

I am trying this artillery approach, but it still only fires at targets within 500m, it will not shoot at targets outside this distance that are spotted by others. 500m is the maximum distance any tank can "see" the target(game won't draw tanks outside this for you) and it has nothing to do with the tanks view-range.

Is there any way to get the targeting work outside the draw-distance Aevitas ?

Correct, My observation and in statement by Aevitas is the bot itself, whether arty or track can only see what you can see and not whats posted on the minimap. Regardless unless you have a mega badazz team they always wander within my range. The only frustration issue is when your watching and there are 4 tanks line of sight coming your way 200 meters or closer and you try to target it.... Suddenly the bot always chooses something 400-500 meters away and completely ignores the tanks close to you and to your frustration it's targeting something on the other side of a house or hill it cant hit and then holds fire hoping they will move and it can fire, when there are perfectly good targets so close your crew is chucking grenades at them right this second. Default arty targeting the closest target above all else would be a godsend. A pause function like the one available to the aimbot would be wonderful, at least I could manually engage them until the threat is over or select another target when it keeps targeting an impossible shot and not firing for 3 minutes straight.

And you will also notice if there are several tanks in a bunch to shoot at it keeps switching between them every 1-2 seconds because it cant decide which to fire on, and ends up with a fully expanded aiming circle then firing wildly in that direction. Even better when one is to your left and one is to your right and it will fire on one, swing fire on another, swing back.........

For me fire on closest target and stay locked on it unless it goes out of range or behind something and another target comes available.

Either way it is not perfect but it is beta and our input helps. In the meantime all the dumb things it does looks perfectly normal for a newb arty guy in tier 2 and the idea is to make some cash unattended and unnoticed and for that it works well. Anything is better than noting.

Cool, nice posting Sinister.
I just bought all the spg's to test it out. :)

But the targeting must be fixed as Sinister is posting, it switches back and forth between targets and lose its accuracy constant.

Found another flaw. IF it has shot on a target and is reloading, it will not re-target anything until the reload is done. When the reload is done it will target and fire "on the wild" and if this target then hides it will stay on it until reloaded and switch to a better target and fire on the wild again. This way you will never get the bot to aim properly until there are only 1 visible tank on the field that it can stay on.

So it should target while reloading and not wait until the process is done.

For what it's worth on my test account I started with level 2 french arty 4 days ago and now I am sitting in a tier 9 BatChat and should be in the tier 10 BatChat by this evening, and I have never played a single round the bot earned it all. I have not heard any complaints or received any emails on it so far so good. For what it's worth there is just over 16 million left in the account, I'm rich! lolz

Another account went from tier 2 up to tier 8 British arty in just over 36 hours, that is my main account and I watched it mostly to look for comments or complaints. Other than people telling me to take cover when I was sitting in the open it did not recieve any interaction. And with the latest release I can setup profiles to move my arty to a safe place, just too lazy to do it as of this time.

That's awesome! Did you use any premium tank and converted experience or did it get there purely from playing games?

All of it was done with it's own XP, I did not spend any gold or convert any XP just used what it made. Only cue'd 1 arty so that it went immediately back into play every time. With the somewhat wild targeting (I haven't worked that all out yet) I waste alot of money on ammo that flies wherever but there's still enough left when it's time to move up. The fastest/safest moneymaker strategy is to buy the french LEFH arty and the british Sexton and cue the french one first. The ammo is really cheap, they shoot really fast and they aim fast and make a ton of money without looking like a bot. Just sayin.... :)

Well, arty is really a way to go. Regular tanks movement (especially unstuck routine) is very suspicious indeed.. but who cares? I don't know about any ban yet, that's why I am not worried about them. Besides, there is no cash involved, so the loss wouldn't be too severe. I even don't know about an option to report botting players. I even noticed once, when I peeked into WOT a message from a teammate saying about me "omg, xxx is another bot, I hate them.."
Sadly, there is no way for botters to earn some cash (selling botted accounts with poor W/L stats is very unlikely).

Hey, many thanks for the feedback sinister222. It makes a lot of sense to bot on lower tiers, and at the end I guess you end up having some free xp and credits as well. I have one question, though. I have a couple of T3 SPGs (the French and the German Wespe) and I've seen they have really cool matchmakings. Do you know if it's the same with T2, or is it ok to stay on T3 arties?

Thanks again, really useful post!

Sorry for the slow reply, After weeks of more botting arty nobody noticed, or cared as I went up through the tiers. I ran the French arty all the way to tier 10 unattended on a test account and I am now doing it on my main account.
I did notice on the tier 8 9 & 10 matches people were "Bot Checking" me, talking to me to see if I responded and they told me why when they answered. Their concern was my gun waving wildly across the sky back and forth for no apparent reason because of the default arty targeting we currently have and I told them I was just target jumping etc. That and the fact I did not run and hide as soon as the game started. Therefore it would be easier to hide it's behavior in the lower tiers (say 7 and down) where most players have never used arty and don't care.

So, as far as I understand you are staying in the arty tree, isn't it? I thought you said you were staying on Tier III arties, grinding until you unlocked the BatChat IN THE MEDIUM TANK TREE, haha! Now I get it, you're essentially going up the artillery tree in each country, ok. Looks like an interesting approach but doesn't quite solve the problem of the endless grinding until getting a Tier 10 tank, sorry...

TL is getting better, I had my problems with it in the beginning and occasionally as the bugs get worked out some new ones come up. But all in all it gets better as it goes and looks more natural. The key to looking natural is to use a slow tank thats never first in the action and to use either the provided profiles from glommy or nimitz or others that are available. Basically it is a path with waypoints, like a gps uses that your tank follows from point to point to point eventually arriving at the enemy flag. I am still slowly working on mine and tweaking them as I go. In all honestly I prefer to stay off the frontlines and out of the fight when tanking with TL so as to not attract attention to myself. I set waypoints that steer a wide berth all the way around the map where I usually don't get into too much trouble and then let my tank defend itself along the way. Nobody is nearby, nobody watching me and sometimes it actually makes it. When you are in a fight or a group of tanks it is painfully obvious that you are not playing like everybody else etc and it attracts attention. I can bot up to tier 7 or 8 while watching and occasionally get comments. The approach I am taking now is to stay on my side of the map, I cruise from my flag out to the left flank, back to flag, out to right flank and meander around in the middle then back to flag like i'm on defense patrol and most times it never gets in a fight, and I get good XP and credit from a team win and dont have to repair/reload my tank. It is the only way I will bot up past tier 6 unattended. Now if I could just get Glommy or Nimitz or one of the guys to write some profiles like that (because they do good work and alot faster than me) that keeps me out of the team spotlight i'm happy. Hope that helps.

Interesting... i will test it tonight. Can you please share the option that you choice in the bot? i mean, if you select "default artillery targeting" and "default artillery" options in the garage tab of bot. It will be great too if you can share with us some of your profiles to play with artys.

Thanks a lot!

I use 2 arty's when I bot unattended, I use the french premium Lefh105 as the primary and the British premium Sexton as my secondary. They are low tier and nobody looks at or thinks about you when your botting them. You can make a decent amount of money (more than with a standard arty since it's premium) and make alot of XP to convert if you need it. Just set vehicle type and targeting to arty. You will get dizzy watching it switch targets constantly but it works.

Now for a hint, go to your TL folder, open \TankLeader 2.0.280.136\TargetingProviders\DefaultTargetingProviders/DefaultArtilleryTargeting with notepad. You will need to make a small edit that will help. There is a setting for it to only select targets that are moving slowly (10 or less) well if you use arty firing at anything moving at all is a waste. The first line looks like this Weight = 100 + (1000 - (s.Speed * 10) change it to speed * 0
then look a bit lower for (o.Speed > 10) and also change it to 0, make sure you make a backup copy before you edit in case you hose it. Now the arty will only target stuff sitting still and be alot less confused. Maybe Aevitas has a better way to do this but for now it seems to help. I would share my profiles if they worked even slightly reliably but i'm still getting it all wrong it seems, they are still a project at the moment. BTW if you are going to bot unattended with armor my best luck is with the TOG and the Churchill 3 also both slow premiums. Hope this helps
