BM Hunter DPS Comparison

Would you mind posting you TuanHA and PureRotation settings? I have similar gear to you and did my own test on a single Raider's Training Dummy in Org. I did 3 5-min tests and got:
TuanHA: 113k, 118k, 113k
PureRotation: 112k, 109k, 111k

Either your TuanHA settings are messed up or my PureRotation settings are messed up. Since I really don't know anything about PureRotation, I'm guessing it's my settings.

Just guessing, but three things you should check. First, make sure you are set to 'Auto' mode in the settings. Second, currently in Pure you have to manually use your potion during (best time is at start of combat when you fire your rapid fire/readiness/rapid fire burst). Finally, you might need to adjust your Tyreal Ticks setting. For me, setting it at 15 rather than the default 30 nets about a 5k DPS increase.

And make sure you have the latest version from SVN...

Thanks for the reply,
I did have auto mode on so it's not that. Also, I didn't use potions in any of my tests. I did a very bare bones test without any non-self buffs.

I don't get why turning down the ticks would increase your dps, it should be the other way around. I have a very nice computer, I run WoW on max settings and get 60+ FPS at all times so I currently have my Tyreal set to 60 ticks without framelock turned on.

Lastly, I downloaded PR from SVN right before the test so it was the current version. I'll redo some tests with it set at lower ticks though, just to makes sure.

My biggest issue with any CC is sitting at max focus. I saw this post and decided to check out PureRotation over Tuanha to see how well it does, on Elegon during lust I watched it spamming cobra shot while already at max focus (latest SVN).

OP, mind posting your settings for each CC?

It shouldn't stay at max focus, because it uses arcane shot for dumping focus at >= 61 or when you have "Beast within" up. THEN
if non of these apply, it will use cobra shot as filler.

I pushed a small fix to arcane shot, please update from the svn again

Lately I've been having people come to me with various profiles to test out. Seeing as it's Tuesday and it's a big raid week for me this week I will try to get these completed but no guarantees until Thurs/Fri.

Also, I will have to re-do all the CR tests again due to the recent Hunter changes anyways QQ. Solo stampede = garbage now :(

Hunter

General

Arcane Shot now deals 10% more damage. [Requires a realm restart]
Cobra Shot now deals 10% more damage. [Requires a realm restart]
Hunter Pets summoned by Stampede now only use auto-attacks against their target. [Requires a realm restart]
Steady Shot now deals 10% more damage. [Requires a realm restart]

Talents

Blink Strikes now has a 10-yard minimum range, and the teleportation effect cannot happen more than once every 20 seconds. [Requires a realm restart]

There is your issue. PureRotation is specifically designed to run WITH lockselector/framelock. While Tuanha's is for without.

Edit; If you read the first post, you see that the OP tests routines at their own recommended settings. TuanHa without FLOCK, and the other with FLOCK.

I realized this after my original post so I went back and did a few more tests with FLock and there was no change.

Also, on a side note, not that it would have changed my tests because they were single target but does PureRotation automatically multi-dot serpent sting if there are multiple mobs around? That's one of the features that makes TuanHA's so good is the fact that on boss fights where there are multiple targets it will keep them all dotted at all times. That and it will Kill Shot anything around you that is less than 20% HP

How come you don't have Kickmydog's PQR Profile included? Seeing as you do include PQR stuff and he has one of the most popular hunter profiles. Version 22.

Simply because I don't have it. I've recently been using Soapbox's elite (paid) profile and it's been really REALLY good. The PQR profile I used before is practically dead now (garbo DPS since the hotfixes).

So yeah, hook me up with the profile and I'll include it in my next DPS text (mid-end of this upcoming raid week).

Also, I will be excluding recount data from my reports as I haven't really used it since early Cata. Also it doesn't really have much of a discrepancy from Skada at least on target dummies.

Thanks man, I'll try it out.

Also people have been asking about SV and MM and the truth is, there's very little reason to play them (especially MM right now). BM is higher single target and comparable AoE to SV right now.

I may compare SV single target DPS if I have the time when I do my next test. We'll see!

For right now I gotta go eat some cake, my 27th birthday today (getting old as heo)

Happy birthday. Age is just a number :)

Sorry guys, you can't speak of PQR (Another program) on the these forums. :\ these posts will most likely be removed..

I simply prefer to play SV over BM for when I take over for the bot. I had noticed a big DPS increase after 5.3 with SV over BM and tend to consistently out dps our other BM hunters using Mark SV and Nova PQR SV.

530 ilvl, 4pc, rentaki and bad juju, etc.

However, after taking a look at this, I think I will begin playing BM again for our main raids and see how well it performs.

Happy birthday, mine was just a week ago. 26 here.

Took your advice and went back BM.

Stats:
531 ilvl
Legendary Meta + 2pc + 4pc
Bad Juju and Renatak
Normal Thunderforged Weapon
Human

I forgot to use stampede ;[ This is with zero buffs and using a wasp pet.

@OP

I've seen slightly different results. In my case TuanHA outperforming the other tested CRs.

But for TuanHA you have to change some of the settings:

- Turn off Auto Misdirect
- Turn off Multidotting (for single target testing)
- Change the use of Readiness to already activate when only the relevant DPS Talents are on cooldown, ignoring survivability talents

In that case and with my gear the outcome for a 5 minute fight was (467 ILevel - 53.6K predicted by female dwarf, only pet buffs and self buffs active, set to "no time spent in kill shot range") I've set lag tolerance to 400ms. Frame lock off.

Mark II 48.5K (seeming to leave the biggest gap between actions. May be tweaked by changing lag tolerance settings)
Pure 46.2K (not using readiness - don't know why it performed so badly other than that - looked pretty solid)
The Beastmaster 48.2K (being focus starved a lot and tending to spam too much arcane shot)
TuanHA 51.8 K

(No othe CR tested)

Most of our routines are solely based of T15 rotations which is the latest from simluationcraft with testing in mind.

I always have bare bones settings on every CR I test, no frills, just DPS.

If your PureRotation isn't doing readiness it sounds really out of date. Back when 5.3 hit (blink strikes change) none of the CRs (at the time) would properly use readiness.
