D3 - Computer Builds for Botting

guys can anyone help me with new setup?
i'm read more comments about i5\i7 and just few about amd like a 8320, can anyone answer really to push 12+ bots on AMD like this

FX-8320 or better FX-8350? + overclocking
ASUS SABERTOOTH ??
2x8gb ram kingston KVR? or need minimum 24\32?
1gb ddr5 gpu?
ssd vertex4 64gb is enough?
power? chieftec 550W\600W?
FX-8320 + overclocking = FX-8350?
64 BG is enough with 200 mb clones in YAR and turn off loging
I prefered 2 gb GPU for 10+ bots with GDDR5
10 Bots = 16 GB with clear system. May be some troubles with 12 bots on 16 Gb if u want to use remote control of bot server
ASUS SABERTOOTH - u can buy cheaper with 970FX chipset, but I preferd it
Power 550 is enough (w. overclocking) if u use only ssd (w.o. DVD, card readers and another HDD drives)

And yes, 12 bot on 8320 with overclock is real.

Zotac GTX650 2GB GDDR5 128 bit*will be fine?
Big thanks for answer, i will buy AMD setup in short time, and 24gb for remote control.

My pc ... Why i cant bot with more than 3 clients open ? Should i change something or do something wrong ?
I would appreciate if any1 can help me here
Use d3prefs, and YAR+d3starter (Yet Another Relogger), d3 and win on ssd, optimize your ssd

and use this manual:

great memory-optimizing tool inside advanced system care. Just do this steps:
1. go to www.*iobit.*com
2. install and start, but DONT do a scan
3. go to tools, click smart ram, click config, check everything except clean clipboard
4. go to advanced system care config and uncheck start with windows
5. restart your window
6. enjoy 300mb d3-clients

I configed another pc. This one is able to run at least 15 bots and a maximum of 25 (if overclocked).
The system is build to be cooled very good and to keep the noise very low.

These are the EU prices and in Dollars the system would be much cheaper :)
Computer Config

EDIT:
It would be smart to wait a while if you are planning buy buy an Intel based pc.
In a few months their new processor will be released which means prices of the older processors will drop!

There are some things wrong with your setup:
-don't buy a P67 mainboard for an ivy bridge cpu. buy a chipset which can make use of the gpu inplemented into the 3770k, like Z68 or Z77
-power supply is overpowered, 550W is more then enough
-you're ram is way overpriced. you can get 16gb ddr3 for half that price, just buy the cheapest dd3 ram available
-gpu is overpowered

also don't expect to run 15 clients without losing efficiency, even when overclocked - let alone 25.

So hey
I decided I want a new gaming rig that can hold up some decent amount of bots
Motherboard ASROCK Z77 PRO3 155 лв. 77 eu
CPU INTEL CORE i5-3570K 410 лв. 205 eu
Cooler CM Hyper 212 Evo, 54 лв. 27 eu
Thermo paste ARCTIC MX-4 14 лв. 7 eu
RAM GEIL 8GB DDR III 1600x2 154 лв. 77 eu
HDD 1000GB 7200 64MB SATA III 118лв. 59 eu
Video S aph 2gb HD7870 421 лв. 210 eu
Monitor LG 21.5" IPS224V-PN, 5ms, 259 лв. 130 eu
Box THERMALTAKE Commander USB 90 лв. 45 eu
PSU CM GX LITE 600W, Active PFC 96 лв. 48 eu

you guys seeing any issues with it? I plan to overclock it and run 6- 10 bots max and play other games with 6 up when i want (got a laptop to move 2-3 when needed)
this is like the cheapest most quality build ive found so far

didnt see SSD - its must have in botting setup.

SSD isn't that important. Just buy a cheap spindle at 7200+ RPM. Also, if you're getting a little bogged down with RAM, you can always pickup some USB 3.0 flash drives for ReadyBoost for a little more punch.

FYI -- just started recovering from surgery, but I'm going to update this list as soon as the new generation CPU(s)/GPU(s) launch, so the older versions will go down in price some. It might also have to wait until after my wife and I move into our new house.

For all of those that have listed components -- have any of you purchased your build? If so, please answer the following few questions..

1) Please repost a list of your components
2) How much did you spend in total (delivery an all) for all of your components?
3) What operating system are you running?
4) Are you having any issues with running 10+ bots on your rig?
5) Any tips or suggestions to people who intend on purchasing your components (i.e. overclocking tips, configuration settings, etc)

david8546 purchased the rig I listed and he's currently running 9 bots. After tweaking some prefs and OC tuning, he should be running 10+ easily. Just in case anyone wanted to know "if it really works" :).

You can follow my i7-3770k build here. I'll probably start 3 more bots soon and push her up to 11 in total, see what happens.

Is the 7850 really necessary for 10 bots? The cheapest I can find it at in Norway is 255$, and I'm curious as to whether or not that much power is necessary. What is the real bottleneck in this system?

Real bottleneck starts to push at the processor. Considering ramping that up to increase the power.

Although I do like the I7, your build is not appropriate for maximizing efficiency. My build is about tweaking the performance to get the most bang for the budget. Consider (with windows 7) it'll cost around $750 -- I doubt your build came anywhere close to that cost for 10+ bots =P.

I prefer to have the 8570 listed as in the US, it's very cheap in comparison to the performance you get out of it. I'm not sure about any prices in the EU, unfortunately.

Since I am lucky enough to have a Microcenter nearby I decided to try willbui's no video card build:

i7-3770k - 189$ (I think this was an accident the guy before me bought an i5 and it was still on the screen)
case + 350w psu - 25$
biostar TZ77XE3 - 115$
hyperevo fan - 30$
16gb corsair vengeance 1600 - 90$
ssd - 70$
wireless usb thing - 5$
total: 524$

cpu overclocked to 4.6, havent touched ram

running 6 bots at 30 % cpu, 65% ram and was wondering if ram starts to behave differently when running 10+ bots? going for 12-15 and with the ram optimization program Shaporta linked my clients start in the 250mb range but end up going to 1.5g or so, meaning I could only get about 10 clients--if I were to load up 15 bots at 300mb would I experience lag as the ram caps out? or would it be fine since they seem to only really need 300mb of ram each?

Figured I'd ask here before just buying 2 more sticks of ram

Is there any truth to the stuff about the i7-3770k being able to run 12-15 bots with no GPU?

I've been following Job2k9's thread, and he seems to have problems with his dedicated GPU, so it seems really weird that a CPU alone would do better than CPU+GPU.

Thoughts on this?

All I can tell you is that my 6 clients spike up to 40% max, usually around 30% and temp is at 60c. Compared to my computer with a cpu and gpu the fps is lower which can be frustrating if your loot rules are not very strict as it will increase your ah/gold transfer time, but the iph is not affected by the lower fps

I'll update when I get more clients but I've been waiting for a d3 sale

Looking forward to it. Going for the 3770k and dropping the graphics card is potentially the cheapest way of making a 10+ bot computer, if it works that is. Anyone else have some experience with this?

whats the cheapest cooler i can find for this video card: radeon 4890?

And how many bots can i run with:

cpu: amd phenomon x4 940 (3ghz)
video card: radeon 4890
4gb ram
