D3 - Computer Builds for Botting

Dont forget $ = Euro in europe.. and he didnt tell about graphic card, and SSD HD 50$ ??? with OS ? its like 60GB with free 40GB space, so how he score 14bots+... What about AC 600W+. Minimum price for descent PC is about 800-900Euro if u need some kind of beast for 12bots.

learn to read. dont need graphic card. SSD 120gb was on sale at slickdeals, OS is windows 7 ultimate (free), the powersupply is 500w and it came with the computer case RAIDMAX BlackStorm. 14+ no problem.

running a buncha d3's and db's is CPU heavy, so focus on CPU, overclocking mobo, and some kind of cooling system.

You dont need a graphic card for Diablo 3?

does no body around here read a persons whole post? 3770k has built in Intel HD Graphics 4000 which is more than enough for a botting computer especially after u change d3prefs to 16bits. this whole thread is about the most efficient for lowest price botting computer right????

also u dont need monitors, keyboards, or mouses for each one, all you need is the power plugged in and stable internet connection. set up your whole operation to run with windows scheduler and just transfer items every night in case of bans.

I know the sandy-bridge CPU's have a build in Graphic chip but I don't think that the graphic chip will handle 10+ bots, de CPU power of a 3770k would defenetly be enough.

Welcome,
I wondered, about new PC for bots, nothing else, only Windows7 + bots. My AIM is for 9-12bots with no more than 90% of usage CPU. Cause i know how 100% can slow bots.

Lets start about more optimistic - 9 bots.
I know that i7 price is definitely so high. So i found better way to chose AMD which is.
AMD FX-8350 its about 8cores,
I think i want to spend max 1000$ or about 750Euro. It will be working with Radeon (i think if i chose AMD, then i should connect it with radeon) Radeon about 7850 or Nvidia GTX 650/660. + 16GB RAM 1600Mhz, what u think about this kind of CPU ? Never tried bots with AMD but i know i5 3570k can't handle more than 6-7, and i7 is too expensive to try with i7 3770k. I think best way for rich people is 6'cores i7 ivy bridge which price is almost the same what full computer for 6bots+.

This thread was not about what "rich people" can handle lol. The challenge is to get the most efficient build for ATLEAST 10 bots (preferably more if possible) for roughly $600~. The idea is that the computer is used STRICTLY for botting and nothing else. Where you would stick it in a room with an ethernet connection and let it do it's magic :).

You're right, you don't need a monitor, keyboard, and mouse for all of them, but you would need a KVM or VM ware to manage all of the bots efficiently. Replugging all of the connectors every few hours gets old ;).

Im currently running 3 bots on:

i7 something (cpu is allways low)
8GB RAM (around 60%-70%)
Green WD HD (5400 rpm)

I tried 4 bots, and it still went ok.
But the minute I wanted to start 5 bots shit hit the fan, in task manager my Disk was 99%-100% -> NOT good
All this time my RAM was doing ok at 85%-90%

My question is: if I put in a new HD and double my ram, can i run 6-9 bots?
What should I look for on a HD? rpm? MB Cache?

Ive been looking at SSD but isnt that overkill?
I just wanna be sure I target the real bottleneck before I spend some cash on it :)

You should check this program called "synergy". It will share mouse/keyboard input with other computers.

You should just keep your HDD and buy an SSD.
SSD is never an overkill. It's a really nice upgrade and doesnt have to be expensive (since you only want windows/Diablo to run on the SSD).
If you take a 16 GB RAM kit you can easly run 6-9 bots.

Im wondering which i7 you have?

I have an i7 920 (which is already 3 years old) with 12 GB's of RAM and SSD and I can run 10 bots without having my hardware running at 100%.

Hope this helps you out :)

Thanks mate :) mine is also 2.5 years old, but still performing solid.
Ill take a look at SSD then :)

I own a Samsung 830 SSD and a Crucial m4 SSD.
I recommend the Samsung 830, althought the M4 is pretty good as well :)

Isn't the GPU any important to look at when botting multiple instances?

12GB won't be enough.

I tried 8 bots with 16GB and it was about 10GB so i think that 12GB will be enought but at close to maxed them. P.s. as i said RAM are very cheap so i think this is choice between 8 and 16GB, so smart ppl know which way choose.

I'm currently running 8 bots, RAM usage is at 13,6GB. Windows 7, aero disabled. Fresh install for botting purpose only, no other programs. Also it's always nice to have some extra RAM.

I guess I could do some D3-tweaking if I wanted to, no need for that though, still have free capacities. Also it's always nice to have some extra RAM, using it up completely will mess things up and introduce you to some nice lag-experience. I would always go for a 16gb kit.
