Hey Guys, I'm new to HonorBuddy and I've been running into this same issue. Every time I start up HonorBuddy AFTER logging into my character on WoW, I get an error message stating the following:

"You have not selected a valid instance of WoW to attach to!
Please restart Honorbuddy and choose a valid WoW instance to use Honorbuddy"

I've searched the forums and wiki and never found a solution. Here are some example links that I've found.

One friend recommended to buy a key, which I did and that did not help. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit machine. This issue is starting to be really frustrating.

are you in windowed mode
are you running dx9 in the wow client

are you running Hb.exe as admin (right click --> run as admin)
 
Sorry, what's " 4991 on wow servers"?

My WoW account is on an official server. I am assuming that I have the latest version of honor buddy installed, got it from the following link.

Does WoW need to be completely up to date to use HB? My install is almost up to date and the download status bar on the launcher page is green but it has a slight sliver left on downloading progress. I hope this is the case here.
 
Yeah, looks like I didn't have the correct version installed. Now it's working. Thanks guys for your support on this!
